just landed in San Francisco! was through border control in less than five minutes after leaving the plane, which is definitely a personal best, and no baggage to collect either
a few photos from the plane - maybe one day looking out the window from up there will lose its magic, but that day is not today

tacos were damn good, and I regret that even half decent ones still remain a rarity in the UK
earlier I did a bit of shopping for a few essentials and also popped to a dispensary for some gummies because, hey, it's illegal in the UK and easily accessible here so why not?
anyway after tacos I wandered to the nearest brewpub, which turns out to be doing drag queen trivia tonight which, yeah, this is basically what I was hoping for from San Francisco
the beer is really damn good (Black Hammer Brewing - Boots & Cats), the space is nice, and the vibe is chill, which is good because I'm really flagging
two more hours then I'll feel ok about sleeping

we've got burrito places, and there's a fast-casual chain called wahaca that does tacos that are...fine?
there's a smattering of independent places that are slightly better (Mestizo and Santo Remedio are my favourites in London), but they're few and far between and none of them can hold a candle to the tacos I had yesterday which were at the first place I found near my hotel that looked half decent
anyway it's acceptably early for breakfast now, so I've found a Kouign Amman (the croissant's more debauched relative) and a coffee and I'm starting to feel a bit more alive
