Once WellReadTed's poker-only hotel get's built, it will feature* a covered parking lot with dedicated spots for poker players to sleep in their cars for either $5 or using comps from their play @ the WRT Poker Hotel Casino and Parking Lot..... plus, the garage would feature a garden hose "shower" for $.25 or using a comp, and a microwave facility for cooking comped ramen noodles, for $.15.

*or so I would expect.

The thought of poker players lining up for comped ramen noodles like inmates lining up at the prison commissary amuses me.

Poker player: "55 rewards points? These were 50 last week."

Guy behind bulletproof glass: "Inflation's a *****, huh? What are you gonna do about it? Go out for steak? Haw haw haw!"

Poker player: "I'm writing a strongly worded letter to the poker room manager about this."

Guy, calling the warden over: "Hey Bill, watch out, you're gonna get a strongly worded letter about the new prices."

Warden: "Tell him to leave us a 1 star Yelp review too! Haw haw haw!"

Poker player: "Fine. Gimme the ramen, a packet of ketchup, and beef jerky."

Guy: "Spaghetti and meatballs, coming right up! 225 rewards points! Haw haw haw!"

They would line up for free top ramen like it was Ruth Chris steak.

the local Injun casino has a free buffet for the poker room, which is a nice touch. People sprint to the food line when it is brought out. Took some home to my dogs once, they wouldn't eat it. They do have fruit some times which is nice.

My friend used to work with me at a full time job and sleep in a toyota yaris. Did the gym shower deal as well. Always thought about trying it out. I imagine vegas in summer would be tough. I feel like in vegas you could degen a bit try to scrounge money for a cheap hotel or use comps in some way.

If you did Vegas in the non summer months, I wonder where the most comfortable place to go would be during the summer. Somewhere you could still play poker ?

There is no outdoor place in Las Vegas during the Summer which will get below 100 degrees during the night, at least during "hot spells".

A working definition of a hot spell is daytime well above 110 degrees and night never below 100 degrees. That means most days from June 1 to August 31... although you might want to verify that with data.

Besides, you'd spend more on bottled water trying not to die than on somewhere to crash inside with air conditioning.

So, anywhere else with poker would be better .... try Colorado or California ? I'd recommend Costa Rica or Canada also.

San Fran, you would fit right in with the rest of the homeless. You'd have to commute to poker but it's not too bad.

He posted a vlog a few weeks back with WSOP MTT footage from August 2018. He seemed very fringe and erratic, like it was difficult to put his thoughts into words. It was very odd.

No & No. My car payment is only $227/mo. That number has never put a strain on my finances.

I think it would be awesome to have the flexibility to sleep in your small van while traveling and playing poker. May end up giving it a shot

I've slept in my car in Vegas years ago and it was pure hell. Have a crew cab F150 now and slept in the back seat a while back during a hunting trip in N. AZ and was perfectly fine. No way would I even attempt it in the Vegas summer heat.

Pro Tip: If you do decide to try it, Keep an empty container inside with you to take a leak.

Three years ago I had the unfortunate opportunity to sleep in my car in Chicago. I made some bad choices the night before, namely not checking into the expensive Westin hotel I had a room at in Lombard. I was playing poker all night in Joliet and had no idea they had a mandatory closure at like 5am for an hour. So I had also turned down the free room I was offered by Harrahs.

My plans that day were to do Christmas shopping at Oak Brook Mall, a fancy outside mall. At 4am I headed towards my hotel, which informed me they gave away the room. I've doen this once before, and the previous hotel let me shower in a room, since i Had paid for a room. Westin said no. So I texted a friend in Chicago, and he joked about where I should stay, and save myself a trip into the city.

The correct answer is Walmart!

I get to Walmart and I'm blown away by the amount of cars in the lot. It really put my first world problems in perspective. If you ever need a safe place to crash, find a Walmart.

Back to my first world issues, it was comical brushing my teeth and hair in Nordstrom bathroom when they opened.

Too bad the prison had closed shortly after the Blues Brothers movie came out.

Hope you had bought some Slim Jims or such at Walmart for breakfast.

Carlos Welch continues to live in his Prius even after bilking bitcoin and a wsop online bracelet.

The Prius makes sense because it allows the car dweller to turn on the air conditioning without having to turn on the engine. 2 bucks per night in gas because the engine auto turns on every hour to re-charge the battery.

So true, I feel like the Prius is 100% the right vehicle. Lean the passenger seat all the way up and lower the backseat and it fits a 6 feet tall person perfectly.

The A/c turn on makes this totally doable in a Prius.

Prius living/camping is a long solved game.

There are tons of videos on youtube by people who live full time, or go camping in, or use the Prius as a substitute for hotels. Anyone who wants to do it can have full theoretical knowledge of it even before purchasing their Prius.

Couple years ago I slept in my SUV for a few weeks in Vegas to save a bunch of money. One morning I heard a tap tap on my window. It was the cops lol. I was parked in a church parking lot like an idiot. They couldn't believe my car wasn't stolen and I didn't have any warrants haha. The female cop handed me a card with a bunch of info for homeless people before she left. I had a couple grand in my pocket I was just trying to save money. I parked in the Wal mart parking lot a bunch of times. Some kicked me out some wouldn't. Venetian parking garage a few nights. It was fun I want to do it again soon.

Seems like a solid plan except the church parking lot lol, yeah I figured they would check on you pretty quick there. Bikeking always did the parking garages of the casino, I think that would be the play with security there and people less likely to try and break into your car I would think. Also your just 1 of hundreds of cars parked in there and with the shade from the sun seems optimal.

Optimal seems an odd choice of words in a town filled with reasonably priced, way more safe hotel rooms.

I have pulled over and napped in my car while traveling cross-country from necessity, it is in no sense of the word, "optimal".

No resort fees!

But many hotels had parking fees for a long time.
