Heading to Vegas for the first time in 2 years in July. Last time I was there the Venetian had just introduced 000 Roulette & now I hear it is everywhere.

Is there a commonly accepted strip casino that is the best place to gamble? and any that are the worst right now?

Talking in terms of Blackjack, Roulette, Video poker etc? T/I was only place I could find 3/2 10$ blackjack last time, maybe they have gone to the dark side too now?

Are their sites tracking this where I can view where is best/worst to play?

I really think this could be my last trip to Vegas. With every trip the urge to go back gets less purely because of nickel and diming. Over my dead body will I ever play a 000 roulette table purely because of what it represents.

On another note, MGM just announced 250 people have lost their jobs and more jobs will be lost shortly. Its comical how short sited these CEOs are. They are going to cut costs & eventually profits down to nothing

CEOs aren’t being shortsighted for neglecting the $10 blackjack player. Keeping brokes out of the casino isn’t going to hurt the bottom line.

If by best you mean "cheap 3:2 blackjack", yeah, TI is your best option. You'd probably have a better time off-strip TBH.

I think it can depend, largely on principle and largely on how many hours /average bet.

For example, I wouldn't play 6/5 or 000 out of principle. But then again, I'm only going to play for an hour here and there, so I'm not going to Uber out to Arizona Charlie's either. I'd be better off playing a higher minimum or slightly worse rules right where I am.

Another major consideration for me is the quality of drinks. So, $25 minimum and grey goose+water melon as fast as she can carry it seems a much better proposition than $5 bj and rough well drinks.

There are sites with complete lists and summary of BJ games for Las Vegas showing their minimum bets, whether it's 6:5 or 3:2, house-edge, etc. Wizard of Odds had a really good one before but I can't find it anymore. Here's a good one I just found:

Btw The Cromwell has all 3:2 BJ and they even have $10 minimum tables.

Haha, I completely missed the 000 until now. I mean I personally never play these house games unless I have some free play or something but the single 0 is kind of a nice social game with a moderate house edge. The 00 is just abuse. And the 000 is beyond description. Just banking on the stupidity of degen gamblers

They're being smart. Vegas is full of vacationers that barely spend a dime outside of their hotel room and McDonalds for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Why would anyone spend their vacation walking around hotels for 4 days?????

I fully understand top end properties discouraging traffic from value minded tourists. The problem is almost every strip property now markets itself as top end. Next recession is going to be ugly.

Cromwell is my current favorite place to play. It doesn't have the lowest table minimums but it has some of the best payouts on most games. $25 single 0 roulette, 100x craps, $3 bubble craps, 3:2 blackjack (can't remember the minimum on this), 99.x% $.25 VP.

I’m sorry, 000 roulette? Are you ****ing kidding? I didn’t even know this was a thing until just now but the whole idea is just so offensive. Like some idiot said “hey we can just make the odds worse and here’s how much more money we’ll make!”

The reason high stakes gamblers continue to gamble (sans those with a problem) is because the perception of the activity is still considered “high class”. You wreck the odds so much so that it just feels degenerate and the games will dry up.

Jesus. I think what bothers me the most is how obvious it is they’ve made the game worse.

When BJ started having dealers hit soft 17 it was sorta like “okay I know it’s worse but I can’t tell how bad it is so who cares”.

As long as people keep playing the casinos will keep making odds worse and worse. With blackjack at least if you play even decently high you can still get all the rules you want. Is that true in roulette too? Or are even the higher minimum tables triple zero.

The thing is, I doubt most casual gamblers really can tell that it's much worse. They'll likely just think, 'oh, well it's only one more zero, and it won't come up that often anyway, it's probably just a tiny difference.'


Or even worse, they might think, 'wow, another 0! now i can bet 3 zeroes and have a better chance to win!'

yeah, there are still single zero roulette tabels in most high limit rooms

cromwell, as of last winter. personally would leave strip before going anywhere else.

Seems like these roulette tables are just as busy as the normal ones though. I’ve seen them busy even on a random Tuesday night at PH, even though there were plenty of better roulette tables nearby.

yeah i like playing single 0 with friends sometimes who dont gamble often, its fun af. but the greed blows my ****ing mind with the 000 and the 00 is just standard avoidable.
