Yeah, you must know what you are talking about .....that undoubtedly must be why their grow operation and stores were just bought for $290 million by GTI.

Love how you misquoted me cuz the only line of that that was mine was essence's bud is garbage. I don't care who bought it and for how much, consumer's buy subpar products and bad business deals are made everyday. Every other dispensary i tried this summer in LV had way better bud(which isn't saying much) and it didn't take me 3 bowls of their stuff to catch a crappy buzz. Maybe im just spoiled having smoked only stuff from Cali and Oregon the past several years but it's just my opinion you don't have to agree with it or like it and can of course voice yours just dont misquote me in doing so

i was at mccarren in november in the parking garage where your friends can pick you up. This guy was standing there smoking a blunt for about 5 minutes until airport security came up and said he couldnt smoke it there. They talked for about a minute, he put the blunt out and they left.

I also flew with a joint in my carry on (i gorgot about it) for ~6 months like november-may.

TSA DGAF about weed and those dogs are for bombs.

Just curious .... who said the guys with the dog were TSA ? They were in the terminal before you get to TSA. I thought they were police, not TSA.

OTOH, the New York Times asserts that " T.S.A. agents with dogs that are sniffing people in line by security checkpoints are looking for explosives, not marijuana."

How does this sale change any of the things I have asked you about? I have made 0 comments about essence.....all I have done is point out your weak logic and refusal to provide any facts other than “I saw a sign...and, I saw a dog.....and, I thought about it”.

Also I want to point out that I am not any any way advocating anyone taking cannabis products to McCarran-I am just pointing out that you are incorrect in your assumptions and you continue to insist that everyone itt just accept your claims.

Logic ? I saw X, Y and Z on my way into the terminal . That is a foundation. You object to my inference or any that the police (not TSA necessarily ) with a dog were looking for pot, given X the new signs saying possession was illegal in the airport, Y the drop box to put your pot in, and thereafter Z a new "dog inspection" prior to the TSA area. That supports the inference that the very public display was pot-related.

http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-...018-story.html Feb 23, 2018

"McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas is now offering travelers a chance to dispose of any marijuana they might have on them before hopping onto a flight. So-called "amnesty boxes" have been installed at the airport and soon will be located at smaller airports in North Las Vegas and Henderson — 20 dope boxes in all.

More than half are already in place at various passenger drop-off sites and airport car rental sites."

Also, according to a May news report

McCarran International Airport has also figuring out how to juggle legal weed. They are on federal mandates, so while people can have pot right down the street, they absolutely cannot have it anywhere at the airport. So the airport came up with a new way to gently remind people of that law.

"What we did is we installed these amnesty boxes. When we first installed the amnesty boxes people were like, 'Oh the airport just wants to steal your marijuana," Christine Crews joked. "No. Quite the contrary. We would much rather you leave it at home. But if for some reason you forget, we do have the amnesty boxes."

Christine Crews, the Public Information Administrator for McCarran International Airport said overall, they have not had a problem. She said there have been a few citations, but no arrests. She said the only citations she knows about come when people are caught with weed and still refuse to throw it away. If people are caught, they could face a misdemeanor charge and then have to come back to Las Vegas for court. "

Dogs do not multi task, I would agree .... however, some folks blindly discount the possibility of pot-detecting canines, at roughly the same time that 20 or so signs and drop boxes were first installed; I get the vehement adherence to the bombs/not pot position that, you don't want it to be true, you weren't caught when you did X, therefore they are not looking for pot.

Accept my inference from what I saw or disregard it at your own discretion, that's up to you*. I had scarfed down two brownies as I walked across the terminal because I saw the dog searches; although I had no explosives in my possession at any time, I still reeked of pot and that dog stayed with me for a very long time.

(* Folks selling tickets over cost at a Las Vegas venue also reject the claim that is illegal .... the cost of getting caught doing so, a citation, comes to about $3,000, including fees and a voluntary donation to quash the matter 12 months later.*

I see-everyone else's anecdotal experiences are meaningless, but YOURS has significance? LOL

Another example of how you know more than everyone else?

the rest of this is just more of the same (I saw a sign, I saw a dog, and therefore my inference is correct.... with a new article that actually backs up the thought that there is not any reason to spend millions of dollars to prevent a substance that will merely be confiscated, and thats not what is being screened for, but you keep with your position its cute)

No, I don't "know more than everyone else", I saw X, Y, and Z and drew a reasonable inference in the context .......But, yes, actually there is some significance .... there is little or no downside to acting on my inference. Feel free to blaze away when you next, if ever, come to McCarran, if that is your belief.

I guess you do not grasp that law enforcement and TSA are different folks, they do not screen for the same things, so what ? Airport police at McCarran issued 13 citations for pot as noted in the press. You however seem fixated on TSA, those folks in blue who staff screening, but if TSA happens to discover illegal items, their guideline is to notify law enforcement.

That whether a particular policy makes any sense to you carries little weight in whether or not it is or may be enforced. Nor do dogs, or signs or drop boxes cost "millions of dollars".

What I saw was significant, in context, and the inference was valid. I've seen and dealt with airport law enforcement activity on other topics, including searching for explosives, on a professional basis.

I can't speak to what you find "cute", but that comment seems a little odd.

It matters little to me if you like or accept the accuracy of what I posted; I'm a lawyer but I'm not your lawyer.

Please show one post where I have advocated using or transporting cannabis products to McCarran-

I am not fixated on either of the law enforcement teams that are actively providing security...I am merely asking you to give your source of information, or define who it is you think is providing the screening animals.

You are correct-13 knuckleheads out of somewhere north of 20 million flyers had a banned substance, and this is important.... they refused to throw it awayand they got a misdemeanor citation. This is the only question I have asked you that you have answered, and frankly it strengthens the "not" argument

whether a particular policy makes any sense to you carries little weight in whether or not it is or may be enforced. Nor do dogs, or signs or drop boxes cost "millions of dollars".

The budget for providing one dog on duty for 30 minutes an hour 24 hours a day would run somewhere around 1.2-2M annually(at least 8 dogs estimates are from 150k to 250k annual each)

I saw was significant, in context, and the inference was valid. I've seen and dealt with airport law enforcement activity on other topics, including searching for explosives, on a professional basis.

Personal experiences aside, the cute comes from your dogged determination to prove your right with the same lack of back up and longer and longer walls of text that still just say.......BUT I SAW A DOG!!!!!!

my apologies to the rest of the thread, I will no longer post about this
