Best AYCE crab legs? Are they only offered on certain nights or all the time?

Also prefer them served hot rather than cold. Been to a few CET buffets where the legs are not split and they're served chilled.

Really? First time I’ve seen anyone say that. I think it’s much better than any other buffet I’ve tried at a locals casino.

Hit Aria buffet today for brunch around 10am for the 1st time in awhile with comps to burn. Very disappointing. The only thing any good was the pancakes and coffee. Not much selection elsewhere and nothing much in the lunch department either. The desert was a joke.

I would never spend $33 on that. I am not too happy about $30 in comps. Seems like it was much better several months ago when I was there.

Aria buffet and bellagio buffet have gone straight to ****.

Thought I'd update from a non local...

Wife and I hit Palms buffet during our last trip 3 weeks ago. This was my wifes favorite place to eat in Vegas. This last trip was very unimpressive. Service was great but most of the food was very bad to inedible/overcooked. We have been twice prior in the last 12 months and really enjoyed it, enough so to make us go to Palms when we normally wouldn't. We go to a buffet once on each trip as we aren't really buffet people generally.

Going to try the Wynn next time I think. We will be staying at Red Rock though and may give that feast buffet a shot too.

I hope the poor quality at the Palms was an aberration.

GC is rather mediocre, but they always have fish, so I load up on that along with some passable sides/veggies. Main Street is a bit better quality, but used to be better.

Worst I ever had was at the Maxim. Bad idea.

Can confirm Bellagio buffet is now average at best. Sad, but in keeping with the overall decline of the property.

It seems like buffets everywhere are overpriced. The high prices are just fodder for comps and poker promos? It's hard to imagine the average person wanting to pay those prices.

Unless things have changed at The Palms buffet, like someone mentioned above(maybe an off day) that was the best value around. I believe with a card its only like $10 to $11 and pretty good. I have an upper card there and get more discount and only pay half price when using comps. So its only $4.50 in comps for me for breakfast. lol

But I haven't been in 2 months so hopefully it hasn't gone down hill.

I have a theory that Mondays and Tuesdays are different (sometimes better but mostly worse) because the regular workers might have those days off and the people who work part-time two days a week are there. Also it's not as crowded so the food stays out longer, etc. The quality should be consistent but it's not.

I guess it highly depends on how much you can/want to eat and what your position on wasting food is.

I still remember my first time at the Bellagio Buffet many years ago, there was a couple at a neighboring table who both had 3 big plates in front of them, ate a couple items and then discarded them >50% full. That happened 3 times while we were sitting there and probably continued since they hadn’t reached dessert by the time we left. Those two guests alone wasted roughly 10 full plates of food in front of my eyes. Somebody has to pay for guests like that and that’s the small-stomached responsible customers.

I figure that's the way most buffets in Vegas are: When they open they're great value, so they can get some good reviews/word of mouth out there, and then gradually either the quality goes way down hill or the prices creep up. In many cases it's both.


I remember everyone having good things to say about the new Palms buffet and sure enough it looks like it may be going downhill now... I remember being in Vegas years ago when Bellagio was fairly new and trying their buffet and being amazed, and I haven't been back since, but it sounds like that's just the typical overpriced strip buffet now too.



Are there any good values left anymore? I personally love the M buffet - it's certainly not the greatest food wise, but it's definitely above average, and for the weekday lunch price, it's hard to beat.

After a new buffet that is pretty good all around opens for a year or so and they see it is not as profitable as they thought or need, that is when cuts start happening.

The buffet at HR Tampa for the 1st year or more that it opened was great and had world class deserts and the best cookies ever. Then came the cuts to longer periods before fresh food is brought out, cuts to the menu and the no more world class deserts!

I also noticed when frequenting Palms new buffet last year, if it was close to the end of the month the food would be dryer and probable more leftovers and some item missing, etc. probably to stay on budget at the end of the month.

Red Rock buffet has always been good. love their breakfasts in particular.

Obviously Vegas buffets are not cheap or amazing deals, but anyone saying they are horrible value must not like crab legs. Couple servings of those alone would run $25 or more at most restaurants, then tack on a few slices of prime rib, some sides, dessert and it feels like you got your money worth even if you didn’t forge yourself.

When I went to Bacchanal a year ago it was very average, IMO. Thought I'd give it another shot last week, but when I found out it was $75 for dinner, I peaced out. It wasn't even close to worth that before, and too expensive to give it another shot.

At $35 for brunch, Wicked Spoon is my top spot.

I had Aria dinner buffet last Summer I thought it was great.. It was free but if I had to pay it wpuld have been fine

2 for 1 b'fast or lunch (m-f) at the Golden Nugget was easily the best deal in Vegas, and probably the cheapest meal we had last trip with my wife. $20 w/tip for 2. Requires renting a room there, though :-(I love downtown, so win/win!) Food was decent enough, and plentiful.

I would even consider paying full price, if I was hungry and nearby. Wouldn't plan a trip from center or south strip just for it, though.

Bacchanal a couple weeks ago was okay. Probably only worth going if you like expensive cuts of meat and seafood. I'm glad I tried it but wouldn't go back. It was packed. Pizza so burnt on the bottom it was inedible. But the carrot cake was the best I've ever had and the chocolate covered strawberries were A+.

Best way to try Bacchanal is with the 24-hr buffet pass. Buy the pass late night and pay the $35 upcharge for Bacchanal, then the next day go to three or more other CET buffets. Total $59 for the pass plus $35 Bacchanal upcharge plus tax and tips. (Actually any time you are going to a CET buffet at night you might as well buy the pass because you are already paying $35 then it's only about $30 more for unlimited buffets for the next 24 hours.)

75 bucks! To add insult to injury you have to wait in brutal lines to get in.
