Palms just redid their buffet, it's 8.99 for breakfast (just remember to get a player's card, if you don't have one). Also don't go on Sunday, as they rename it to "brunch" and charge double.

Yes, went 2 times last week, they mailed me 2 comps to try it. Went for breakfast. My biggest hope was that after they spend all this money upgrading the buffet that they at least upgraded to some decent coffee, because all the stations property buffets have the most horrible coffee ever, and of course NOPE, same old ****ty coffee. lol

I went end of breakfast/beginning of lunch so I could try lunch too. The breakfast was nothing special and the lunch not very good. The deserts were decent.

Sterling brunch

I've had most of them. The first time I had Bachannal it was incredible. Second and third time I went was over a year after it opened and the quality had diminished considerably.

Only been to wicked spoon while blackout drunk so can't comment, will have to go back soon. Bellagio was underwhelming the one time I went 5 years ago but I will give it another go for the sake of the thread.

The best value buffet is the new Palms one. I think it was like 20 bucks for dinner and it had a ton of stuff and the quality was vg for the price.

Wynn is the best overall one. I've been to it like 6 times and it's always mind-blowingly good each time.

No Sterling is overall best one

The Bachannal lowered the quality of all Las Vegas buffets.

Here's what I mean. Before Bachannal opened, the original Palms buffet was 13 bucks for lunch. You got steak, beef ribs carved, salmon carved, oxtail stew and a good Mediterainean section with humus, babaganush, grape leaves, and tabuli. Suddenly, it was all gone. All they had was chipped beef and the top carving was a rotisserie chicken.

Before Bachannal, the Main Street Station had oxtail during lunch. After the Bachannal opened, the highlight became fried chicken and broccoli with cheese.

There have been noticeable drops in quality for Planet Hollywood, Paris, M, and Red Rock.

I think what happened is that Bachannal charged 5 times more than the Palms yet was no more than 2 times better. So from the point of view of the Palms it wouldn't make sense to be half as good yet only be charging a fifth as much. Hence, it made sense to drop the quality (no steaks, no beef ribs, no oxtail stew for lunch) in order to adjust itself to Bachannal's range.

The other buffets followed suit.

Style over substance is what the Bachannal is all about. Their meat carving station is no big deal with stuff that can be found in other places: sausages, ribs, chicken, etc. Their taco station attracts a lot of tourists but locals no it does not stand a chance against the one in Texas Station. The pig's head with all that crunchy skin and meat around it is cheap stuff in Chinatown and Filipino restaurants. Great presentation with the pig's head. The shrimp and crabs legs is not big deal but they do have great presentation near the entrance with stuff that's for display only.

The other casinos have learned. The new Palace Station and the Orleans are two buffets that have style over substance. At the Palace Station, bad fish but great presentation with the lemons on top. At the Orleans, canceled beef ribs during lunch but great presentation with the tacos. And a great presentation pho soup area with the bare cheap materials. Great presentation just like Bachannal.

In short, Las Vegas is no longer the buffet capital. Bachannal is the reason with their great presentation, high price, and no big deal quality. The other buffets have had to adjust to match the quality to price ratio. They lowered the former and increased the latter while covering it up with much better presentation.

I've only been to Palms AYCE for breakfast, but it was indeed a great value. Much better than other $10 breakfast buffets.

So what do you think is the new buffet capital?

Never been to these countries but I'll go straight to those buffets if I ever go there. Even the 15 buck buffets in these countries beat the Bachannal and Wynn.

I've seen those videos before, and they do look amazing.
Unfortunately not as much of a bargain after you factor in the $1500 plane ticket.

During WSOP someone recommended The Palms. I checked it out a few weeks ago.

I have eaten at pretty much all of the buffets in Vegas more times than I would like to say.

The WYNN buffet is really above all of the others in my opinion, they had shark meat one time and all of the food seems to be of higher quality.

I've never been because I had consistently heard they were clearly below the Bacchanal/Wicked Spoon/Wynn tier and thus a pretty bad value.

So has Aria improved? What sets them apart from other buffets?

I've been to pretty much all of them and the best one for value, price wise, I think is Palms. Brand new completely remodeled.

I wonder why nobody has brought up Sterling Brunch, it's exceptional quality and value.

I think the Aria buffet is at least one step below the other topish tier buffets. I was super underwhelmed by the offerings but, as mentioned, why bother offering anything good when idiots will eat chicken fried rice and sausage.

As an aside I wouldn't (and didn't after the first time) eat PH buffet for free

Chilean sea bass at Bellagio buffet is one of my favorite dishes at any buffet in town. Was always cooked perfect with a slight crisp bottom.

Fwiw Orleans remodeled and reopened its buffet a year ago and dinner is often just $20. But I haven’t tried it yet; just saw the offerings on YouTube lol.

10-12 years ago, the Gold Coast had a pretty decent buffet, and I think Thursday nights was seafood (ugh, long term memory is sh*t)(short term ain't that great either). What was I saying? Oh, yeah. Fold pre.

Their liquor store prices were pretty good, too!

I liked it. It's not the same as spending 50 bucks in a restaurant, but it's as good as 18 bucks in a restaurant. Which is what the buffet costs-ish.
