Not sure why people are convinced he will be caught. They have lots of cameras, but they are old cameras and the person disguised himself. They still haven’t caught 3 of the people from the last big robbery.

Sure he may get caught. Maybe he is an idiot, maybe someone will snitch, etc. But I’m not sure that will happen.

Really? I thought they got all of them. If that wasn't the case, it's amazing that one guy didn't rat them out.

I do understand that just one shot fired would be an epic death disaster, especially if it hit a bystander. But this guy easily could have been taken. Probably knew that they wouldn’t stop him.
No way. Let him go. The way it worked out, he left, and no one lost their life. If he does have a gun, and he is hell bent on leaving, now you put the gun into play and cause potential loss of life.
I know I wouldn't put my own life on the line, or somebody elses, over some money.

The money is replaceable, lives are not.

If they did get all of them I’d like to see a link. I don’t remember seeing any of their faces except the one guy that was caught. He was in court recently and I didn’t see anything about anyone else.

I thought someone else was going to get caught too after he was caught.

So he can just walk out and security/police aren’t going to do anything?

If they know you have a gun, then yes they will let you walk out in most cases. (This came up many times during biker bandit)

Security definitely won't, and shouldn't. You only originally mentioned security. I'm sure the police have a different SOP.

I did only mention security.

Does the teller inform security he has a gun and stay clear?

If there was no sign of a gun, would they then tackle him?

I guess I am a little surprised to see a 5’8” guy just wander off with their money and security won’t do a thing.

If there was a policeman there, would they shoot him?

At the end of the day, the only one losing money will be the insurance company, which they will recoup by raising premiums. ZERO incentive or reason for anyone on scene to try to be a hero.

Police should only use non-lethal in this situation. Tackle or taser

From what little I've seen in that criminal area, crooks are tougher than most of us think. Contrary to what the bad tv shows depict, crooks don't roll over on each other so easy.

If they see a gun and he doesn't drop it when they tell him, oh hell yes.

I think so too. Cops will yell freeze. They aren’t trained to let bad guys go and let investigators handle it.

Just the presence of a gun shouldn't lead to shots fired in such a crowded spot

The video quality is surprisingly pretty bad. You would think they'd have high quality 1080P for all their surveillance cameras on the casion floor.

Not impressed either. I would think they would have had a much higher resolution video.

MGM is a huge company. $35k is a drop in the bucket. Their deductible for this sort of event could be much higher than that.

I would not be surprised at all if that guy has already dgen it all back into another MGM casino.

We have seen this crap security camera quality before remember the video of the Craps robbery with the guy in the motor cycle helmet.

Newer hotels will have better video. Bellagio is 20 years old.

I noticed no date too. Good research.

If cops see a gun, they will shoot. I can’t see them letting a guy get away.
