You're probably assuming he went out the front.
No, I know there is a close exit at the North valet...but it's still pretty far to the exit. Much farther, for example, than the exit is in any bank branch I have ever been in. And you can't self park your car outside that exit. Did the guy hand his ticket to the valet and wait the 5 minutes for them to bring it up to him? I wonder if he tipped well....

I actually would have guessed it would be easier to rob your average bank than the Bellagio. Or do banks just let robbers walk away with their money without a fight now also? They have customers who could get injured as well.

From his description, he must be a former online player. He was wearing the online-to-live poker uniform.

Just clicked on the news link and saw the surveillance pics. The guy looks very similar to Gavin Smith. Lol.

I don't think any business with an insurance policy will put up a fight now, and with good reason.

Not sure why they bother having armed guards.

When they get robbed they get an insurance settlement. When a reg pulls out a knife on his backer at the table someone needs to step in.

Plus armed guards are a nice visual deterrent

So many cameras, so many angles, probably had a bandage on his face to cover up a distinctive mark, i say give the cops 2 weeks and they'll have him.

I'll take the under.

All they need to do is find a guy with a bandage on his face, case closed.

After all, that's how the Duct Tape Bandit was nabbed.

You has a plan afoot?

Cashier’s word will win over a robber.

Definitely armed robbery if you mention or insinuate a gun (hand in pocket.)

Seems like that rule creates an incentive problem.

Don't they put RFID in high value chips now? Not saying this guy took chips but certainly couldn't get away with the motorcycle bandit-style robbery these days

Guys, this is super easy to solve. It was the nude Gambler from the other week. Salty about having to put on pants!

They'll end up catching this guy the same way they catch most criminals- he'll end up doing something stupid. Doesn't even have to be 10% as stupid as the Ocean Spray guy was.

This was much more complicated than a robbery. The reports make it sound like there was also kidnapping involved.

He will get caught and spend a lot of time in prison.

I reread some stories about the Bellagio Biker Bandit. The police were on his tail for weeks before arresting him. That may be their strategy here.

It would not be hard at all to dump 1k and lower denomination chips

I posted this over in the NVG thread, figured you'd guy would like it. Clearly see cash being handed over and not chips.

Good stuff.

If a security guard was near and capable, are they authorized to tackle? Or do they automatically let them leave?

I do understand that just one shot fired would be an epic death disaster, especially if it hit a bystander. But this guy easily could have been taken. Probably knew that they wouldn’t stop him.

I’d be getting the f out of Vegas, that’s for sure. Time to start over in some ****hole town on the other coast where blending in with other criminals is easy. Gary, Indiana or Dorchester MA, maybe just duck it move to Newark.

Seems like on the video there was a guy next to the robber who was trying to exchange some chips and you can see him grab his chips away from the guy while the robbery was in progress. LOL
