It should be noted in early April there was a Bellagio POTS test run at 1/3 and the game was totally off the chain. From what I could tell it looked like it several 5/T+ players that were just going crazy because it was lol 1/3. It also had one of the sickest/craziest calls I've ever seen in poker. People in the stream chat continue to ask for bigger games but bigger doesn't necessarily mean more entertaining. Sadly, the stream of the 1/3 game which was by far the best Bellagio POTS stream is no longer available on Twitch.
But do the masses want to watch games they don't even play?
They were asking for players to email them a player profile. Thus, all the spaces are reserved in advanced. I doubt there are many big money players that even know about this game. One thing they should consider doing is reserving the right to kick a local pro off in favor of a recreational walk-in....or just fill 7 seats and allow walk-ins to take the final 2.
It should be noted that some of these players may not even be that nitty but you're kind of forced to play like that if you want to fair well in tough lineups. I'm guessing if there were 6 whales and 3 pros in the game, some of the pros would definitely open up there game to play bigger pots with the whales.
First of all- I don't think the B should be deceptively setting up action games in order to advertise for the poker room. Making the game semi private doesn't do anyone any good (except for the select pros that get on the show).
Secondly- IRT to LA vs LV- that's exactly why I said, what I said. The LV player pool is saturated with a bunch of serious, professional poker player type that makes for an incredibly boring game. In my opinion, the poker room should be using the stream for advertising purposes- and they should absolutely NOT be advertising for nit/pros/etc which is exactly what they're doing now.
NL- lots of pros, small pots, almost no multi way pots, almost no stacks get passed back and forth (unless its a cooler), and it makes for boring poker. More importantly recreational players, gamblers etc DO NOT WIN AT NL- THEY DON'T STAND A CHANCE. In fact- they don't even stand a chance to even have a big winning session. That's really, really bad for the poker room and for the recreational players. They eventually just stop playing altogether.
A PL omaha/draw mix solves all those problems. Lots of action, lots of multiway pots, lots of chips flying, and a way, way bigger chance for even recreational players to win often, and have some huge huge sessions. That's fun poker, a fun stream, and great advertising for the poker room.
