Thought I would open a thread for discussion about Bellagio's new stream that fired off tonight. Pretty solid stream Bellagio had a nice overlay, decent commentary although the strategy talk wasn't that great IMO. You can follow them on twitch.tv/BellagioPOTS, they are going to do four more streams before taking a break during the summer. Neeme said he is planning to come on in the future and there was quite a bit of talk in chat about him as well as guys talking about Trooper. Something sort of interesting was players were allowed to keep "reload money" in clear plastic cups and they were able to top up in between hands, but the chips in the cup were not in play. The stream had a steady 500-600 viewership for the first night, I'd call it a decent success. It will be interesting to see what Bellagio makes of this after the summer and if Caesars does anything which would be really neat I think.

Problem is that Caesars seldom gets games over 2/5, although if they do this, it might attract some bigger action.

Players can always have chips in their pockets or backpacks to reload - I don't get the plastic cup thing.

Sure! Go to their twitch channel and select "past broadcasts" its about a 3 hour stream. Yeah the plastic cups did generate some negative feedback in chat, "come to bellagio in Bobby's room and hold my chips in a plastic cup seems a little ridiculous" I suppose they don't players using cash to reload or introducing other chips...but yeah im unclear of the exact reasoning behind it, seemed to work for the players though. I asked multiple times what happened if the players also lost their reload money, if they would be forced to leave or not, but never received an answer.

Seeing that the game is 2/5/10, are there still any 5/10/20 and 10/20/40 games at Bellagio or are those guys now playing 5/10 if no 10/20 or 25/50 games are going?

25/50 rarely goes. 10/20 usually gets one table, but most regs are playing 5/10.

Do you know why they picked that table in the back corner for the Twitch stream and not one with a little more space in the high limit area?

I never liked to sit at that table, always felt cornered in. The only benefit is that you only have to get past one table and jump over the balustrade and you are basically in the bathroom.

They moved out one table and made it a little more comfortable. It's decent enough but putting it in that corner was a dumb move. Should've been at the table directly adjacent to the sportsbook so that degens could come over and watch the game.

It seems like it's being mismanaged a little bit. I've spoken with people involved and I don't agree with a lot of their choices towards marketing it and the choices they made with the broadcast. But oh well.

I agree, that table would have been a better choice. But it might be too busy there with cocktail service and players on their way to the sports book bathroom? Not sure how much space they need for the stream though.

When I was playing at Caesars last night one of the dealers said planet Hollywood was launching the same thing. I asked what games as its rare for them to get a 2/5 going he didn't know.

I love the plastic cup on the table idea. It ensures nobody can steal the chips and you won't misplace them. Pockets are generally not a great place to store chips. I've personally lost $500 chips/lammers this way. The more chips you have in your pocket, the more likely a chip will fall out. You can store more chips more easily in a plastic cup.

I've personally found a $500 chip that I assume dropped out of the player's backpack, perhaps when she was grabbing chips. I returned the chip to the player but the vast majority of poker players will keep any chips they find. I would hope that most of the players wouldn't have backpacks but the plastic cups seem more convenient regardless.

The chip running at Bellagio is far slower than what I am generally accustomed to. I assume this plastic cup thing solves that for a lot of players.

There was a $25/$50 game with a $25k min buyin running at the same time as this game.

Maybe someone should tell the announcer to stop advertising that Bellagio has the best 2/5 players in the world. I heard this on the first broadcast and the test broadcast. Aside from the fact that I don't actually agree with it, this is just a terrible way to market the games. He seems to think recreational players want to play with the best in the world, and I don't think that is the case, particularly with live low stakes players. Many perceive Bellagio as having a lot of nitty staked grinders at the lower levels and this does little to change that perception.

This is a very valid point. It's very normal for players to be instructed to get their own chips from the cashier before sitting down.
