Per the Kraut's vlog, I guess MGM is also open. No games on Bravo, but I guess they are only open Thu-Sun 4pm - Midnight or 2am Fri/Sat. 6-handed with plexiglass.

I played at Aria on Friday night and the plexi is terrible. Can't even hear the person next to you. Might as well play online if you want to sit in a little bubble with no human interaction. With masks being mandatory they should be able to play 6 handed without it.

when I saw this at first i was like what...

then I was there today and saw 6-handed plexiglass.

serious question...I looked for the price of a 6-way plexiglass poker table...to no avail. I assume the plexiglass is an add-on to an existing table?

does anyone know the cost? interesting that the Orleans was willing to invest to go from 5-handed to 6-handed for their entire poker room.

also another random observation...the sahara also has 6-handed plexi. when I walked by there today, it looked like the plexi was only on the player's sides and not in front of them...or was that an optical illusion?

Well, the bulk of the poker room regulars are probably in the high risk category, so maybe that's why.

So far, I am going to say that the Sahara Poker room has quickly become my favorite poker room in Vegas. You can find 4-8 Mix or 6-12 Mix and 1-2 NLH almost every single night. They are 6 handed but the dividers are much easier to deal with compared to other poker rooms. I Just moved back to Vegas and I expected the worst. I have played in every single room that is open so far. The only problem with the room is that it does not open till 6:00pm. My understanding is that will be changing soon.

I played 6-handed at Bellagio and 5-handed at Golden Nugget this weekend, first live cash since early March. I'm not impressed with 5-handed (LOL usually 4 handed with walker), but the Bellagio matched expectations, at least. I played Friday late morning, no list, sat right down in 2/5. Friday evening, sat right down at Golden Nugget, no list for 1/2. Down $70 at Bellagio after getting down to $200 from $500 and all-in with top boat. Down $90 at GN just dwindling until our dinner reservation at Vic and Anthony's. Played 3 hours @ Bellagio and maybe 1.5 at GN.

Tried to play again at Bellagio Saturday afternoon. LOL at 50+ list for 1/3 and 2/5. Should have tried the Orleans.

I'm not going back to Vegas just to play poker like this. I might go try Talking Stick 7-handed with plexiglass today, maybe.

Quickest way to avoid wait lists like that is to go early and not wait until after lunch to meander over...

Looking at the list right now (per Bravo), at 930AM on a Tuesday, there are three 1/3 and one each 2/5, 5/10 and 10/20 games in no-limit in addition to a 20-40 limit game and a 1/2 PLO game.

Five each waiting for 2/5 and 5/10 and four for the 10/20 game. Only one waiting for 1/3. No idea how many are call-in's since my version of Bravo does not show call-in versus live bodies waiting for a seat.

Venetian only has one game running (1/3) with six people each on the 1/3 and 2/5 lists (probably some of the same people).

Aria has a 2/5 running with no updates on the waitlists.

There are also two on the waiting list at the Nugget for a seat in the two games of 1/2 that are running right now.

I've done well through the years getting into those games early in the day, but then again, when I travel, I am usually awake by 5AM simply from habit. After a week, I might actually be able to sleep until 6AM local time...but even that is not a given. But getting to some of the places running (or that typically run) multiple games, I know that I am often going to either catch the tail end of an all-nighter OR I get a new table opening up. But the key comes back to just going...

Don't most of those rooms take phone-ins for the list ?

Generally, you can cut up to an hour off your time by phoning in ...

I know they did in the past...have not been out there since the re-opening, so not sure what current practice might be or how much time they are giving once the name is called.

My only experience with a call-in was at Aria when I was staying at Vdara. By the time I got the notice, got down 53 floors, across the circle and into the poker room, the seat had been given away...

Ive played Venetian, GN, and Caesers multiple times each since re opening and only once i had to wait like 10 minutes at GN. I usually call ahead but a few times i just showed up and ive always played during the day/evening. So if you're dead set on playing at Bellagio i guess you could wake up at 5 am to play but otherwise not necessary.

Asked aria dealer about the 8 handed thing. Rumor is that aria and bellagio have applied to be 8 handed and whats they’re waiting for is 8 handed plexiglass orders to come in, he guesses will be around 2 weeks ish.

I think I read that poker rooms were checking ID's and making you sign a waiver when they first reopened. Are they still doing that?

And to the clown who said it had something to do with "rednecks" I assume by that you mean CA, which is the state having the most trouble
Speaking of clowns...

I love all of the clowns who make these pronouncements regarding how the coronavirus is all media hysteria, and then they completely disappear when their predictions end up being laughably incorrect.

Here we have SplawnDarts who wrote exactly one month ago on June 26th that hospitalizations were going down and would be lower in July, and then hasn't been heard from since. In case there was any doubt, here's an article from today's (July 26th) NY Times: "About as many people are now known to be hospitalized with the coronavirus in the United States as during any other time in the pandemic, matching the previous peak in April."

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...4aa18640071511

And here's the chart from the Covid Tracking Project: https://covidtracking.com/data/chart...y-hospitalized

But SplawnDarts isn't the biggest clown on 2+2. That honor goes to MikeStarr, who not only laughably predicted on March 11th that there would a grand total of fewer than 500 deaths in the entire United States from the coronavirus, he then added the next day that he would come back to post in 3-4 weeks when he was proven right that the virus would just disappear when the weather got warmer. (I wonder where he heard that idiocy?)

They just accept that 10,000s will die every year.

But my main point is that this virus is no worse than past viruses. The media is just doing everything they can to put everyone into full on panic mode and its working.

Hopefully with both of them it's just a case of waiting until it blows over, and for it to be forgotten about.

Hated Splawn's take, but he writes a very good Vegas TR, and would like to see another.
