And to the clown who said it had something to do with "rednecks" I assume by that you mean CA, which is the state having the most trouble
Fla and Texas are getting killed - wtf is wrong with you? Do you get your news off of Fox and Friends?

Do you think 5g towers cause cancer and think Hilliary is going to prison lol?

Hospitalizations of confirmed COVID-19 cases are up 60% from June 1 to yesterday, according to the Nevada department of health and human services.

One of the key indicators of the increasing or decreasing of the spread of a virus/disease is the Rt or R0 number. As of 6/26 Nevada is the leader.

https://rt.live/

It isn't a golden number that explains everything but it is a good datum that adds to a clearer picture.

The more you know.

What sort of players are at the tables now? Is it locals, is it regs, are there many tourists?

Just curious to know who is playing live poker now in the rooms that are open. It's interesting from a supply and demand point of view for me. There are so much fewer rooms available so people are all bunched up in just a handful of rooms in ALL of Vegas. On the other hand, there is way less traffic in general so I'm curious what effect is winning out from these two factors.

Also curious if people going to the poker rooms now are more comfortable with risk in general and if that translates to more gambling or speculate about their views of this pandemic and try to correlate it to their logic or intelligence and further their poker game but don't want to shift this in a political direction.

Haven't been since reopen, but based off anecdotal info, you will find general nits who want to fold everything but QQ+, grinding out that diamond card.

I guess I should clarify a little...

Most of the games so far have been 'local' by nature, which in itself isn't a bad thing... because reg's are terrible to. But with the masks, and barriers that are in some rooms, the game really takes on a VERY different feeling. I think it may just be the shock of how the game feels and the speed at which it plays now that the tables are all short handed. certain game adjustment NEEDS to be employed because hand values have increased.I'd be interested in knowing if the rooms are actually more profitable right now because of the hands per hour even though the drop itself is lower.

I think sometimes when I am down on the strip playing, I am getting a lot out of the personal interactions and stories from tourists... now it just seems that everyone is just complaining and whining about life and how bad the games are.

Give it some time... I am an optimist, things will improve.

Has anyone played in the 20/40 or 40/80 LHE games at Bellagio? If those games are shorthanded and people are playing too tight, they can actually become more profitable.

Are you playing the 1/2 or the 2/5 game? Playing 1/2 with people who are not adjusting is like trying to squeeze water out of a rock.

Holy Crap. 1.64 > 1.0 for sure ....

That HAS to involve some tendency for folks in the Nevada sample to congregate somehow at a more frequent or longer lasting timeframe than folks in other States. ............. hmmm,

Don't think I'll be playing much live poker, for the foreseeable future, casino or home game, with or without plexiglass.

Wonder what the incidence is among front line casino workers.

Lots of factors working against NV. High amount of tourism bringing spreaders from all corners of the globe. High concentration of hospitality businesses and employees. Hot weather means everyone is indoors with AC recycling the same air. Perfect storm.

Not surprising to see them getting slammed. I really want to believe that a November WSOP could still happen, but it seems unlikely at this point.

I am beginning to think that playing live poker or hitting table games or visiting in a casino, mask or no mask, might be highly -EV vis a vis CoVid 19.

https://www.scientificamerican.com/a...id-19-spread1/

Too bad, but it really looks that way.

Casinos are crowded, social distancing is not observred on the casino floor and people move around a lot.

" ...as a group’s size increases, so does the risk of transmitting the virus to a wider cluster. A large group size also increases the chance that someone present will be infectious."

"Time matters too. The longer a group stays in contact, the greater the likelihood that the virus will spread among them. Exactly how much time someone needs to pick it up remains an unanswered question, says Syra Madad, a special pathogens expert at NYC Health + Hospitals. She adds that the benchmark used for risk assessment in her contact-tracing work is 10 minutes of contact with an infectious person, though the CDC uses 15 minutes as a guideline. "

I played a few sessions while on Vacation last week. The pace of the game can be described as fast for sure, as expected.

Venetian: Game was pretty wild. I was card dead until a run shortly before 1 am where I got in AA vs QQ and held up for around 180 win. I left as soon as table decided to bail before they closed.

Golden Nugget: Pretty passive game, managed to book a ~300 win off the one over aggressive dude. Played another session that was a boring 30 dollar loss over like 4 hours where I was never ahead.

The games seemed pretty soft imo. I have hardly played cash in years. I adjusted my range a bit as if everyone had folded to me in late position. So a bit looser out of blinds but not crazy.

That's simply not happening. Way too many factors to prevent that, chief among them the virus itself and the travel bans in all directions/countries. This pandemic has a long way to go and the pandemic would have to clear up long before November to make it all happen. Plus the online series, across all sites, are just plain killing it right now. If I was a poker dealer, I'd be really, really concerned about my prospects for future employment.

Rewind to Feb 2020 and I would have agreed with you 100%. I love live poker and would choose it over online every day of the week.

But, present day, have you seen the masks & plexiglass right now? Does that look like fun to anyone??? Live poker does not have a future, period.

Why not? The pandemic will pass.

Even if there's some lingering paranoia, if people are willing to play live DURING this whole ordeal then I'm sure there will be plenty of demand AFTER.

Who says it will pass? There's plenty of viruses that we have no vaccines for. The flu is still a thing, right?

There will always be some demand for live poker. But the margins on it are thin to begin with. I think the future demand will be so low that casinos will scrap rooms altogether.
