'Media Hype' is an interesting LABEL because that can mean pretty much anything... in this instance it conveys that the media is inflating the importance thereof.

Frankly, that maybe an inaccurate assessment of the situation because a news cycle can be driven by many things such as LACK of news, agenda and most certainly sensationalism.

in all honesty, if you are sick and dying from a Covid inspired complication, we pray for you... but it's a little difficult to put the animal back in the cage once the horse has left the barn. CERTAINLY, that ship (containment) has already sailed.

in as far as mitigation goes, if you fight a fire in a forest, you do so with everything you have, including 'back burning'... if the entire forest is ALREADY BURNING, there is NOTING you can do but let it burn itself out.

people die everyday... that's what we do.

Looks like a lot of these places are going to be closing again.

What is your evidence of that?

I don't really care if they do. I live here and I haven't played a live hand since March. The poker room was depressing before covid, can't even imagine now with plexiglass and masks. Not for me.

I think that, to a surprising degree, your view is shared by a lot of former Las Vegas regs ...... No data, just my feeling.

*raises hand*

I can't imagine when I may ever play live again - i have zero interest playing in current conditions. I have watched some of the action at the Orleans and it does not look appealing in the least. and that sucks because I do miss it.

What is the current status of games?

About a month ago Venetian, Southpoint, and some other casino were open. Venetian was 5 max if I remember.

Played Venetian this past weekend and its just horrible now since the switch to 8 handed with plexiglass. You're completely crammed into you're glass box section, cant really talk to anyone or hear what they are saying, and most of all its difficult to even see what the bet is due to the glare off the glass.

Sticking with Nugget and Caesars until they all completely shut down again.

Is there rumors of shutdown or your opinion?

Looks like Venetian still closes early? Why Caesars over Bellagio?

I disagree, I played this past weekend at Venetian, 8 handed, the lists were long and the games were juicy in the 2-5 tables. Again every table is different, but the few I played over the weekend, there was plenty of alcohol flowing and action.

I just meant the physical poker table plexiglass bubble set up itself not the actual games/players.

The games were ok but first table i played was full of old regs who would stop playing if it got down to 6 handed, so i moved tables obviously but just didnt like the physical set up at all enough to go back.

Have ventured down for a few sessions at Venetian late afternoons into evening and the games are so far below average...

Has anyone played in the 20/40 or 40/80 LHE games at Bellagio? They seem to be quite active on Bravo, but I haven’t heard any comments here on game quality. I’m coming to town next week and would be happy to play these if they are filled with OMCs.

I played in these games 2 weekends ago. They seemed more or less like they always are.

Lots of people seemed to be waiting for the other shoe to drop after Sisolak closed the bars. Especially with the added scrutiny and blowback after the SCotUS decision saying no to churches but that casinos were A-OK...

I know when I flew out on the 18th, I didn't check-in for my outbound flight until the morning OF the flight out of an abundance of caution.

That being said...three weeks since the bar closures, with no other action, it would seem casinos (and therefore, poker) are safe for the time being. But with Sisolak...is ANYTHING safe?

I support how he has been handling this generally. I do not think the casinos will be ordered closed, rather enforcement of mask and social distancing rules would be stepped up first.

I agree. Good action and enough room if you are not overweight or 7 feet tall...

I would imagine that the whole you can take off your mask thing while drinking probably causes people to drink more than they might usually.

Any word on when PHo and it's poker room may open? Or when the Wynn poker room may open?

Anyone played at South Point? I saw in pokerkraut's vlog the place looked packed. That used to be the case bc (before corona) but they had ridiculous promos for playing for 500 hours in 6 months or so.

South point is always packed... slightly less action do to the local element, but it can be good.
