With hiking for two weeks before getting there, I am going to be waking up early to hit the trails before the crowds. So, if I just stay on that schedule, I think I'll try getting in cash games earlier in the day.
I went in 2019 around the Colossus and at night the only places I played cash were at Bally's, Harrah's, and Excalibur due to the long wait lists. If none of those options are available and it is still super busy then you will be waiting all day.

Lol, are you referring to Stage Door? Good post, btw.

Grunching from this point, but I hope Resorts World absorbs all the cash game demand. They have plenty of tables, a great room, and a really good staff. I've played mixed games there twice in the last week, and all the dealers are proficient. Room is always dead AF.

Apparently not. Somebody in the NVG WSOP thread posted that cash games might be limited to a couple tables in the King's Room.

There is a new option with a huge room at Resorts World. Hopefully that room is packed everyday as it's such a nice well run room.

Haven't been out to see it yet, but how many tables do they have? From 2019 to this year's series you have lost Harrah's, Planet Hollywood, Flamingo, Excalibur, Bally's, and Mirage as places having cash games and only picked up Resorts World. If rumors are true that Rio may not have much space for cash games you may be seeing astronomical wait lists if you want to try to hop in a game later in the day.

May have to hit up some of the off strip locations or go downtown.

30 tables and they are spaced out pretty well. They play 8 handed now too.

I like the old 9 handed but I'll take 8 I suppose.

I like 9 handed as well for the low limit games since there seems to be a lot of walkers. But Resorts World's tables are smaller and 9 handed there was unbearable.

If there's an issue it will be lack of dealers. WSOP will spread cash even if they have to reduce the satellite area. I doubt they will run out of room, it will be a dealer shortage that does them in. Same with Resorts World. They normally only have a handful of tables so they will also have to hire dealers for the WSOP. If one place has a shortage, they'll both have a shortage. Westgate or Sahara might be the best place.

A month ago Resorts World ran a capacity room for one night for Neeme and Owen's Meetup Game. So they have the staff.

They were able to get enough staff for a planned one off event. I suppose it will be interesting to see if they have the staff to run 20-30 tables for several days in a row when a large field tournament is in town or possibly for the whole month due to increased demand.

with less rooms, less seats, and larger waiting list, it will only encourage even more walkers, sadly

With the recent changes in poker rooms, does anyone know the buy-in amounts for 2/5 at the casinos that still offer poker?

Also is Bellagio the only 2/5 game with $500 cap?

Thanks in advance

The WSOP isn't exactly sneaking up and them, so they should, if they're able.

Speaking of WSOP, I don't think this is worth creating a thread, but is playing the Colossus basically a lotto ticket with 10K+ entrants? I normally don't play much tournaments, but I feel like punting a buyin or two.

1. No

2. Don't count on 10k entrants

BTW, I guess the Flamingo told their staff that the poker room will reopen November 26th after the series is over. This is good news if it is true. It might just be a ploy to keep their dealers from leaving until after the series is over. They lost a few dealers to other properties when the rumors of their room closing started to swirl, so they might just internally be announcing a reopening that might never happen.

Wouldn't be surprised if you are right. The dealers know they will be missing out on $$$$ by being stuck at the tourney tables, when they could be working at cash games in town and making more...

I'd be surprised if Flamingo was still around in Dec. Makes more sense to drive the poker to Bally's... It has the room and except for WSOP never is full....

Yea, but WSOP dealers this year are guaranteed $15/down(half hour) on tournament tables.

Does anyone know the buyin range offered for Single Table Satellites? Can only find buyin info for the mega satellites on WSOP.com

It's a good sign that they haven't given away the promo money, like they did at the Rio.
