Rumor that both the Flamingo and Bally's poker rooms will be closing during the WSOP.

Not a new rumor.

Yes, the closing for WSOP was not new, they need the dealers at WSOP. But the rumor is Flamingo might not open back up.

Well, if that holds to be true, I'll probably find a different place to stay during my November trip. Was going to stay at the Flamingo for cheap + onsite poker but if I'm going to have to walk elsewhere anyway, don't really see the appeal of staying.

For all the Diamond Card holders coming out, keep in mind you will only have one poker room - Caesars - where you can use your status to get top of the list during WSOP...

It's the only CET room open besides the Rio, right? And I wouldn't be surprised if the Rio poker room is closed during the Series.

So, are you saying that Caesars will NOT be closing their poker room during WSOP???

We’ll have to wait on official word for that.

The assumption is that if they decide to keep one room on the Strip open it would be Caesars. That said I think they’re flexible enough to make those decisions based on (expected) WSOP traffic.

I sure hope there are casinos that are going to have cash games.

I'm starting my drive to Vegas today. Spending 2 weeks in Colorado and Utah on the way. Will be in Vegas from Sep 29 - Nov 15.

Had a friend in Vegas .. his intel is that Bally's room has a reopening date, but Flamingo doesn't (after the WSOP is over).

There should be cash all over Vegas, it's the lists you should be worried about. Players who bust a tournament and then go looking for cash are probably going to see a lot of wait time .. which could make for some very long days.

If you are going to play cash, you may want to plan on longer sessions as well, since it may be hard to get back onto a table if you try to take a 2-4 hour break or have dinner off site with friends. GL

Thanks. I've heard on the busy tourney weekends, wait lists are very long. I went in 2019 for 3 weeks, but scheduled around the big tourneys and didn't have much problem with wait lists.

With hiking for two weeks before getting there, I am going to be waking up early to hit the trails before the crowds. So, if I just stay on that schedule, I think I'll try getting in cash games earlier in the day.

Rio poker room is getting rid of the promo money. You should have gotten an email explaining this...

I am guessing Trixie was being sarcastic, Since some of the other Caesars room's will shut down for WSOP, then even more Diamonds will pile into Caesars poker room, so you will still have a dozen diamonds ahead of you the list anyway.

But I guess that is better then being #50 on the list.

Was crap anyway but going from 31 down to only 20 rooms is significant. Especially when Flamingo might be going also.

The PH was random seat drawings that only Diamond and above were really able to get a seat. I got a seat but didn't win a thing. This drawing seems to be totally different as you just have to swipe your card to be eligible.

I have been told that flamingo/bally's dealers had the option to work at either Caesars or RIO during wsop, So pretty sure Caesars will still be open.

This makes me sad. Scheduled to come out for the WSOP Seniors event. Almost certainly would be moving to the cash games sometime on day 1.

I guess I'll figure it out. Maybe check into the new place at RW or Sahara.

There will probably be thousands of runners. If I had seen the email on Wednesday I would've Fed Ex'd my card to someone I know in Vegas. There will only be 6 winners for this one. I got all excited at first, but that sure is a long way to go for an ev of about 5 bucks.
