alright, i'm going to post a TLDR as lot has happened.
1) won ~$6K on own money playing 5/10NL and deeper 2/5
2) lent out friend $7.1K on the same day of my own money, since at the time i had a few thousand left on top. since the time of this post i have only gotten 3k of it back, with him still owing me $4.1K. you don't need to comment or post on me lending people or friends money, i get it. i've talked about it with multiple close poker friends and each one of them has called me a moron for doing so. i know that he makes very good passive income, and that other people have vouched for him but it will likely take time to get all of it back. sorry for automatically assuming the good in people and wanting to never let anyone down...i'm just like that, naturally insecure and wanting to create a bad image for myself or make anyone upset. have had to pay ~$200 in ATM/instant transfer/cash advance fees, he said he would supposedly cover them but communication has been dodgy since.
i now need to borrow $4K from my software engineer friend at a $160 fee by end of july, and pay extra fees to get that out through cash advance. ZZZZZZ
3) proceed to hit a downswing, so down a few thousand since then. lost AK<QQ on both runs in wynn 5/10, KQ < 44 on KQ4 on wynn 2/5, etc. fast forward and i have no physical cash to my name in las vegas.
some pictures, here's me with a euroreg playing 200nl/500nl on pokerstars, we hit it up and talked for quite some time after i saw him watching some zoom tables on pokerstars at the tables..turns out he's in the same coaching stable as one of my closest poker buddies who crushes stars MI 500nl+. we swapped discord infos, and we will likely hangout sometime with the friends that he came to the US with, as well as DC when he gets to las vegas.
wynn 5/10
wynn 2/5
the 6K pot in 5/10 aria
HH on the 5/10 hand:
This is my fourth or so hand into the game, I look down at QQ and the direct hand before, I 3bet this guy with KQo in BTN vs. CO which resulted in me folding on turn after flop goes x/x. Guy may think I'm some sort of asian maniac. OTTH.
Preflop: young asian reg with girlfriend (nice life), opens to $30. villain flats the $30, I 3b to $150 with QQ. ipad Tim with headphones (really nice vegas reg who plays at aria all the time with surface pro tablet+headphones) folds from SB, BB folds, unknown OKish reg from UTG folds, young asian dude folds, and villain backraises to $600. i call.
at this point, my current range assessment on villain consists of KK+/AKo.
Flop ($1230): 9h7c6c. villain OPEN RIPS for double pot. i take about 5-10 seconds to call. my reasoning here is that villain should pretty much never be doing this with AA/KK/AKo/AKs (maybe KK at some low frequency), and that my range assessment based on this line now includes hands like TT and JJ, given that bad players/regs will do something as spewtarded as this as they think that this is good for protection.
if he does this with AA or KK, then so be it, he has my dollars i guess. we run it twice, and we hold vs JJ. my thought at the time was that if he had those holdings, he'd be betting through all three streets or if they were actually a good reg, x the flop, bet turn, bet river.
call me a luckbox, idk, but if you play AA/KK like this at 100% frequency then i'm going to tag you as a funplayer. this line pre and on flop made no sense to me whatsoever, and when that happens, i'm going to click the call button.

Brad Owen (i ran out of clean tshirts so here i am, rocking my league of legends star guardian lulu tee):
Spraggy:
I was joking about if the "open" button at bellagio 5/10 had any cash value with the dealer, they joked and said to ask the floor about it. i ask the floor as a joke and go back to playing, about 2-3 minutes later and the floor comes back to me and says "here's one for you, have fun." cracked me up as it was just a joke for me, i hand him $5 and have a good laugh about it. guess i have a souvenir now!
notes to self:
-better haircut
-need to get contacts
-run better and don't lend people money out ever again
my buddy DC who is a fellow 2p2er is going to head on down to vegas tomorrow, so i'm super thrilled about that. he's a crusher, and someone who can hold me accountable and discipline me as a mentor & friend, which is helpful for keeping me down to early and in touch with reality. i look at him as a role model as he is one of the best players i know on a personal level (as well as brokenstars), the two of them have brought a lot of inspiration and i credit both of them to a lot of what i know about poker today. if it wasn't for these two and i just stayed in random 25nl/50nl study groups on discord and argued about marginal preflop spots/go into stubborn egobattles w/ the players all day, then i'm sure that i'd be still messing around in true LLSNL.
