Alrighty, day 2/day 3 writeup up time...
The last 40 hours or so seem kinda murky to me, as I played around 30 hours of straight poker and just woke up from a much needed rest. In these 30 hours, I will have to say that it's a combination of me running bad + & admittedly me playing bad. To make matters worse, tilted off $2K playing some blackjack as well down at Aria. Hey, at least I'm not the really old me and dust off the entire remainder of trip bankroll lol
I played in that time:
-Aria 2/5
-Wynn 2/5
-Wynn 5/10
-Venetian MonsterStack $400 $40K GTD
In the 30 hours I managed to run KK into AA pre for 120BB in the Wynn 5/10, have a 700K chipstack (75BB entering) in the Venetian DeepStack entering the final two tables and losing AA < 99 pre for ~15BB, followed by me shoving my last 10BB with JJ in the big blind and being called off by 22 which also flops a set...20K up top in that MTT too. Sucks, I think if I held on both I probably would at least be final tabling. People kept on mentioning how this one asian dude to my left was the "best tournament player" and seemed like a MTT reg, but idk call me egotistic but I think tournament regs play pretty ABC spots and don't have any clue how to play postflop. Kinda wild actually on how thin I can value bet/aggressively bet/fold a lot of these recs as well playing em...
For the Aria 2/5, the first $1K bullet was definitely a punt. I leveled myself in a 3bp thinking that a reggish type player cbing 1/3 pot on flop on a 842r board 3 ways, then 1/4ing the turn was some sort of blocker type bet with hands such as AK/AQ/AJ type hands attempting to realize equity. I raise turn 2-3x and end up facing a min backraise, which really threw me off and didn't make much sense to me as at this point villain is repping either overs such as AA-KK (think JJ-TT would be betting larger for protection) or complete air. Second bullet was a flopped set vs. turned set on a fairly dry board on another 3BP, pretty standard stuff. Rest of Aria I don't remember, been too long or not notable enough for me.
Wynn 5/10 - the 2/5 game broke, and it was 4AM. I initially bought in for 1.5K, but topped up an additional 2.5K when I realized that the game only had one player I wanted to avoid. The rest of the players consisted of a passive whale who had an ~8K stack, a tilted rec who was down maybe $3-4K and kept on rebuying for $1.5K, a player who I had played previously before in 2/5 who also bought in for 1.5K (who would spaz randomly and 3B like $30-->$180 with hands like 72s and sometimes does with AQ/AK/AA/KK), and 2 other recs. Initially I was doing pretty well and was peak +2.5K, but kinda ran into it later on with KK < AA for 130 big blinds, followed by the table doing $20 straddle from time to time and me getting stacked w/ QQ < KK after I 3B squeeze and I face a 4B from a particularly aggressive opponent and I decide that it is fine to go broke. I don't really care overall that much about the trip on whether I'm up or down financially, but I do care about playing well and just GII good. Whenever I get it in bad or play bad, that's when the tilt really gets to me. I can't control the cards/variance and at the end of the day if variance didn't exist in poker, it'd literally just be equivalent of chess grandmasters sitting at the casino all day waiting for opponents.
A few things I have learned though during this time:
-The usual self reminder that yea, I'm a **** moron with BRM, the biggest mistake out of all of this I think
-I don't have what it takes to become a live pro currently (if ever). Adjusting from 500-1000 hands/hour into maybe 20-30/hour is pretty miserable. I can just braindead grind out the variance online, easier said than done for live...sure I beat the game at 200nl online/500nl on stars MI, but that doesn't necessarily translate into me completely crushing the games in Vegas if I don't handle my mental game and patience.
-Just gonna stick to playing 1/3 and probably the tournaments over at the Venetian for the rest of the trip, I do want to get to a point where I can just stick to playing 5/10+ for the future, just grind out 200NL/500NL online when I get back home till I have a sufficient risk tolerance to try it out again.
-Not all is bad though, there is plenty of time left in the trip & I have a pretty nice advantage of the image that I'm int'l asian money and am an aggressive maniac/bluff happy kid, when in reality if I'm barreling turn/3 streets, best u believe I'm pretty much doing it with a semibluff minimum. But yeah, I get called down really light compared to avg.
-Stop having the shitreg trait of talking about runbad, focus on minimizing my time about PLAYING BAD. I have friends on FB/discord who want to share HHs with me, which turn into them sending me countless DMs about them "running bad" or bad beat standard HHs...correct way to approach this is to have an open mindset on improvement and always being open to taking good advice from others.
I plan on playing Wynn & Aria 1/3 from here on out, but tbh at this point it's more for fun and damage control. I'll probably opt to play the Venetian DeepStack MTT as well, given how I haven't really played any live MTTs much at all before and didn't actually get to visualize how soft they were to me until yesterday.

Wynn 5/10, in for 4K until my eventual doom (will revisit and battle this later in my life 100%, was a great game tbh...)

Thanks! Seattle is because I have a friend back from university that is a software engineer there & she may be able to provide me with temp. housing for free. Same thing goes for another friend who also lives in Renton, WA & the fortune poker room is decent w/ tech & aerospace money flowing around.

TYTY, took pics of BR just for you but glanced over the shoes part...I wear Adidas Ultraboost about 100% of the time because of how comfortable they are to walk around.

For sure. I'm completely fine with being transparent and honest with myself to write up & post, as it keeps me accountable & responsible. I really should be trying to minimize the derail as well, given the fact that I'm planning on moving in with a close friend into a 1br apt with her (she's going through a rough time overall w/ parents, and it'd be a plus for me as I am closer to the underground games in MI/would have a free ride to MGM Grand Detroit whenever I want). Living at my dad's apt. having to pay no rent prior to the likely situation in ~4 months or so has hit me with a real quick reality check. I will meet up with another friend who is flying over on the 24th who is a winning player at 200NL like me, he's playing some Venetian MTTs.
