And like 15 minutes to most anywhere on the strip.
How often did you use the racquetball court, gym, and pools? How often did it seem like other people were using them?

I am not sure what you are getting at but for a couple of months I had a friend that I played raquetball with once a week or so, which was the 1st time I played in a long time since I played regular when I was like 18-20. Hit the pool a couple of times a week.

I'm not getting at anything. I am genuinely curious about how much value people gain from these amenities. Do they get used or do they function as window dressing to make a place seem classy? I've spent time in a subdivision with a tennis court that I never saw anyone use. It bothered my utilitarian instincts. I don't care too much for things whose only function is to look pretty (including women).

Vegas, in the immediate areas of the strip will wear on you then.

If I wanted to live in a modestly priced apartment in a safe (but not necessarily quiet), somewhat walkable neighborhood (I would like to be able to walk to the grocery and/or a few inexpensive restaurants..likely won't, but want the option to) that isn't necessarily near the Strip, where should I look?
I walked outside the gates with no issues. What I wouldn't want is to leave my car unattended out there all night.

edit:

Walking out the back entrance onto Howard Hughes leads to a very quiet/pleasant 5-10 minute walk to various restaurant options near Paradise Ave.

The front entrance leads to the main drag Flamingo Rd., which is at least slightly shady at night. I was never bothered, but I did notice the cops having to deal with stuff once or twice during my stay.

The security here is great, it's the safest I've felt in Vegas in my 3 years here. The immediate area is right in the heart of the law district, so there's not a lot of danger element that you get a few blocks off the strip on the eastside. The views are great and there's a ton of different floor plans.

Inbox me for some contacts if you're serious about making a move. I used a great agency in town that really took care of me on my apt search and move.
Hi there, I'm moving into the Juhl homes later this month and have a quick question. Do the homes have free internet or is it just in the common areas? Thanks!

No free WiFi @ Juhl. I have the second fastest standalong internet plan on Cox which runs 76.84/month. Juhl is an awesome place. You'll love it here.

***EDIT -- Just realized this thread is 5 months old In any case, maybe someone will find value in the reply.

I live at Tower at Tropicana currently, and will second what parisron said. Price for a 2br 2ba is very affordable at just around $1k/mo, and you do get most if not all the amenities of the more expensive complexes. I've been here 6 months so far and I will likely renew my lease at the end of the year.

Proximity (at least for me) seems perfect, very centrally located. Pull directly out of the parking lot and catch Hacienda or Russell to reach the South end of the strip in less than 10 minutes. Or cross over Torrey Pines to Flamingo or Spring Mountain Rd to drop in mid-strip.

I like taking Spring Mountain to Mel Torme Way - which is the access road that takes you directly into both Treasure Island and Mirage self-parks. Incredibly easy access to center strip - TI is still free self-park too.

Apartments.com has a gallery of current pictures of the place, along with a 360 tour I believe.

Shoot me a PM if you have any questions or are putting serious thought into the place.

Looking for recommendations for quality high-rise condo on Strip, prefer Harrah's/Mirage/Planet Hollywood area. Low floor, must accept dogs, 2bed/2bath. Under $500K. Thank you.
