Thank you - Actually from all helpful comments, what I have read and talking with a few friends that have been there it really seems a perfect getaway trip even for a Senior with a hip replacement LOL. Damn shame I am a solo driver :-).

Also thanks re the Lake Mead side trip input.

fwiw lake mead best from side of highway. or if they still do the tour inside.
