I recently got hired by mgm for a laundry position. I remember them saying something about it during orientation but I wasnt paying too much attention..

Am I allowed to play poker on any of their properties like aria or bellagio?

If/When you ask someone, make sure you have them differentiate between cash games and tournaments.

I've had floor men sit in and play short games while on duty (MGM Grand).

(This was a couple of years ago in case the foregoing would otherwise get current floors in trouble today.)

At Caesars, yes. And it depends on the position. No idea about MGM.

Your supervisor or HR department will be your best resource. You wouldn't someone else misremembering, and so, misinforming you. Maybe they also gave you a website address in your orientation paperwork where you can pull up employee policies.

I play poker with dealers and floor at Bellagio all the time so it's fine.

He asked for the policy, not the practicality.

If it's against policy, it's possible that the dealers' bosses and floors' bosses don't enforce the policy, but the laundry room manager does, so that while other employees get away with it, OP would not.

Ok I just checked the handbook and it seems like only "directors" and "key employees" aren't allowed to gamble. Hourly employees are allowed to play but can't play in rolling jackpot games. So I'm guessing poker should be fine as long as they don't have promos going on.
