Heading to Vegas on Saturday, May 27, and staying until June 1. Going with my husband, my father and stepmother, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, and cousin-in-law and his wife.

MIL and BIL arrive early Saturday, so cousins (J husband and T wife) driving from California, but get into Vegas Friday) are picking them up and driving to Hoover Dam. My dad (D) and his wife (SM) are driving from Casa Grande and picking us up at the airport Saturday afternoon. We have a four-bedroom suite and the Elara. One of the rooms has a separate room w/ pull-out couch for MIL and BIL. They are on the same sleep schedule so works well.

Non-poker plans so far are Biwon Sunday afternoon, Absinthe Sunday night, and taking my 84-year-old MIL ziplining on Monday afternoon. It’s on her bucket list, and Vegas is the only place I’ve found w/o stairs. Will hit an AYCE sushi place, probably Gorilla, one day, too.

The biggest concern is that everyone is either old and/or out of shape, as in very overweight. I’m the thinnest/fittest by far, and that’s not saying much. I’m also the youngest at 55 and the only true athlete out of the bunch (played soccer for 48 years), except for my husband. He had long COVID, though, and gained a ton of weight and then slipped a disc on my birthday in March, so he’s having a tough go of it lately. At least the COVID effects are much better after three years.

Good news is we have the two cars and free parking at Elara, but we are going to try to talk them into renting scooters!

Shoe pics, etc., coming Friday night or Saturday, and I will try to update regularly. Going to be some late-night poker for my husband and me when everyone else is asleep. Mainly PLO at Aria.

Oh, everyone is leaving Wednesday, but we are staying until Thursday with one night at Paris because three of our friends are playing in the Tournament of Champions!

I'm actually very interested in the scooters. I have a big trip booked next month and am trying to get my parents to go.

Will let you know. I've seen ~$100 - $150 for three days online, but no idea what the actual cost will be.

Trust me, already checked. It's the one over Freemont Street. I search everywhere we take my MIL, and they all have stairs. This one is ADA compliant and has elevators and a 300 lb weight limit (she is not anywhere close, lol) -- plus you can choose a sitting position. I was so excited about this, and so is she.

Testing my pic upload with my roll pic. Shoes are not yet decided. I am at least playing on part of my winnings from the past week. Home games were good. The last three PLO games I won about $1,500. Considering half the players buy in for $100 or less at a 1/2/5 game, I'll take it! Luckily, they keep putting another $100 on the table.

The level of play last night was about the worst I've ever seen. I'm almost sorry to miss it next week.

In Detroit on layover. Drinking champagne in the Sky Lounge. Ran into our old neighbor's 19-year-old daughter. We know her well. She is on her way to Paris for an internship with an 8-hour layover, so we used a comp to bring her into the lounge. We go to Paris every year (I have a conference there), so we are giving her a few tips.

Just landed, actually early. Interesting fact: The couple next to me on the plane have a 17 year old chinchilla as a pet. Apparently they usually live to be 8 years old. (We had aisle seats across from each other. We were both sitting by couples so we couldn't switch. It was good because he worked and I slept and drank wine. I also started a really good book that my husband recommended called Babel. It's excellent so far.)
