I am sorry for probably sounding like a douche, but if that’s the best job you can get I wouldn’t jeopardize it by posting on a public forum about it. Especially not one where people read who can have you identified and fired in a matter of minutes.

In our working life we don't have to like our co-workers, but we do have to treat them respectfully.

We don't have to like our assigned tasks, but we do have an obligation to perform them as well as we can.

We can gripe privately to trusted friends and family, but 2+2 is hardly private.

You want frustrations, ask to be transferred into the count room... talk about a shyte hole!

Come clean about the whole experience.

The work is not hard. The people are nice. Everyone is nice at my work. It's just me. Like I'll lay in bed at night and wonder how much longer I can put on this fake smile and pretending to care. It's exhausting...

Before I got this job I was working at one of those local mom and pop motels in North las Vegas. It was sketchy and paid less but it was more relaxing and more real.

I thought I wanted to work at mgm and move up through the ranks within mgm. That's the goal I had when I was applying there. I thought to myself, "janitors are making $18/hr there. I could do that." So with the goal of eventually becoming a janitor I started applying at every manual labor position at mgm. Luckily their laundry department called me back and wanted to hire me.

It's been about 6 weeks now since I started. They switched my schedule to graveyard. It sucks. I spent majority of my life avoiding the sun, but as I get older i realized I really need the sun in my life.

I think I just enjoy working at a gas station alone with 1 coworker at most. Working with 40+ people daily in your department is tiring. I thought I wanted this mgm life but it may not be for me.

I'm gonna give this graveyard shift 1 more week and then go talk to hr about a shift change.

One of the perks of this job is that sometimes I find weed pens. People will question if it's sanitary. I have a strong immune system so just rub some alcohol on it and I'll be fine.

I can easily understand why you feel ground down by the graveyard shift. I need as much sun as anyone.

The fake smiling thing ... if I felt abused by my coworkers and superiors, that would be hard. If that is not the case, why is it bothering you? What would happen, if you didn't smile?
