If hard drugs and fat hookers is your thing, Harbor Island is your place.

How would you guys compare it to the budget suites "across from" The Orleans if you guys have ever stayed at/seen those ones?

Harbor Island is pretty much an open market for toothless BJ's, Heroin, pills, fake cocaine, and meth 24/7. Budget suites at least does a background check.

The saddest thing I've ever seen in Vegas was when I was doing Uber part time in mid 2015. I picked up a guy from there, like 5 AM in the morning. When I arrived, I texted, "Which building?" He give me the number of the room and says "please wait two minutes". When I get there, there's two kids, boy and a girl, probably ages 5-9 with a blanket over them, watching something on a tablet on the curb outside of the door. A MAWG comes out of the room and gets in the car, going back to his hotel. As he leaves and I'm pulling away, I see a barely dressed 300lb black woman comes out to bring her kids back into the room.

Put 2&2 together, and that's Harbor island in a nutshell.

FWIW, I checked what we paid for a 6 week stay at MGM Signature during the WSOP a couple summers ago. Looks like we were able to negotiate the 1BR down to $100/night which felt like an absolute steal considering that MMD and EDC weekends were included. For those two long weekends alone, it’s probably difficult to find a 1BR suite at a nice/upscale location close to the Strip for under $2k.

Probably the same place. But you might have to look somewhere else for non-fat & 28+ teeth.

I can't be the only one who thinks no teeth sounds like a good thing.

Probably decided that Studio Plaza is probably the first place I'm going to check out on arrival to Vegas. It's in a neighborhood that many would consider undesirable, but I did some research on the area and it's probably exactly the type of area I'm looking for. It's centrally located, I can walk 6 blocks to get to the casino's downtown and hopefully I can find a job nearby. Also, it seems like an up and coming area https://lasvegasweekly.com/intersect...own-las-vegas/ https://www.gadventures.com/blog/las...rict-downtown/ Lots of cool shops, bars, and restaurants within walking distance. The area I live now has gone through the aches and pains to become one of the most sought after areas to live. I could see the Arts District eventually becoming the hot area to be in Vegas.

In any case, I just put my condo on the market today and I expect it to be sold at most within two weeks and closed another 30 days from that so I should be arriving in Vegas sometime in April. It's really weird going through this change but I'm looking forward to seeing what Vegas has to offer.

Yes i know what you mean with roommate. Most people probably dont want a roommate. But are there houses where people rent say the entire 1st floor whether its 1 bedroom or a studio with kitchen/bathroom etc? A while back i remembered someone messaged me back on craigslist and it was this lady from summerlin that was renting a studio for like 600 a month but the main issue is its way too far from the strip without a car.

So are there places that rent studios furnished with a bathroom/kitchen for like 800 or 850 a month though where you could take a bus to the strip? I assume there has to be but that wouldl require at least a 1 year lease? Are there places like that that do 6 month only etc? Also for ppl that rent a 1 bedroom apartment in vegas and sign a 1 year lease, how much is the average apartment there? Of course most or all will be unfurnished etc.

Any suggestions on how to get responses from landlords? I’ve sent in 50 emails about places and I’ve received only three responses so far (in a week time).

Anyone have current opinion on holiday royale?

Is it possible to rent a studio apartment for 6 months where you are say 45 minute max from the strip and possible to get there by bus? Yes i know people say if you have a car there is no issue but i do not have a car and yes never learned to drive. Im originally from where most people ride public transportation etc.

And would it be easy to rent a room in someones place where they are say max 45 minute to the strip by bus? Back then i heard spring mountain was the area for that where you could take a bus to the strip.

I spent a month at Americana on Harmon Ave about five years ago. It's around the Holiday Royale. The problem with that location is it's a bit too far from any poker room. Google says 35 minutes to Aria, it's more like 50. There's no sidewalk, it's dusty and will be unbearable during summer.

Have you been to Vegas in the summer? Vegas has terrible public transportation. Consider a poker house where you can share rides to the strip.

Good luck hope it works out.

Outside of the location whats your review of Americana, how was your stay there?

I have stayed at Americana Inn, my room was terrible. Can only compare to one similar that I personally try: Emerald Suites Convention Center. Emerald better but still not good. I think my room at Americana extra bad, it was last one available on busy week, I arrive and they finish giving tour of it to lady who did not rent it. Not wanting to keep driving around I take it and regret is within 1 night of week I pay. When in office to get modem for internet, I hear manager tell maid start with room on 2nd floor then do room on 1st floor, because 1st floor will take long time. I shudder and think about the condition for what may have happened

Looking for you comparison on other similar like Siegel Suites (particular the Checkmate, Paradise, St Louis, locations as they are seem good locations and I expect variance from within brand) and also Kyle House Apartments seem like close for MGM good choice?

I am in same situation, except I already have better than solid place to stay, just weighing options. The last time I was in Vegas I rented a suite in an upscale community ~20 minutes drive from the Strip. Very good value, low price but rented a car to drive back and forth, I was only there couple weeks. This time my plan is to stay all summer. I contact the owner and I can rent the suite for ~$1,000 per month, it's as good as hotel room. Maybe I can negotiate the price down more even.

I'm not going to rent a car for multiple months though. My current ride is getting older and I don't want to drive it thousands of miles to Las Vegas round trip and back. I decided if I'm going to stay there it will make more sense to buy a new car and use the money toward down payment, not a rental car.

The other option is to find a place closer to the Strip and not have to worry about driving.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Dingy, run down, old uncomfortable couch and bed. Everything was cheaply made and falling apart. The shower head was chest high. Every time the neighbors used taps or flushed the toilet the water would go from freezing to scalding and back again.

No bugs though.

I'm looking to stay in Vegas through June. I've found some good Air BnB condo's with 2 bedrooms from 1800-2500.

Most single bedroom places are 1500 plus so it would be cheaper to find someone to share the cost on two bedrooms.

The dates I'm looking at now are May 31st - July 1st. If anyone is interested in possibly sharing a two bedroom PM me.

Are there locations where you could either rent a studio apartment or rent a room from someone where its say no more than 45 minute max bus ride public transportation to the strip such as bellagio/wynn etc? Back then people mentioned spring mountain.

The thing is if i rent a room, i would definitely like my own bathroom as well. That would cost at least 700 dollars then right? But are there places where people rent out a room like that for short term such as 3 months and maybe longer etc?

Air BNB is a good place to look for a single room. Just make sure in the description it has a private bathroom.

If you can rent your own place that would be best. Not sure about the bus. I'm planning on driving to vegas since I'll be there for 35 days or more. I just like being able to drive to the gym, parks, and the grocery store.

I have found some single room apartments for around 1500 for the time I'll be there. Several two bedrooms for around the 2K range. That is entire place rentals, so you are not sharing with the host.

I took a look at airbnb and it seemed you could actually rent a room for like 25 dollars a day or even less... these places have lots of very good reviews etc. So i know these are legit. The thing though is if you are playing poker, well you would be keeping cash on hand or in your apartment since you would not be going to the bank atm or even have a box to put your money in. So if thats the case, where would someone even leave their cash at?

Also the other thing i thought about is this. If you play poker, well many times you would be getting home pretty late etc. I mean if you were renting a room to someone, wouldn't you probably not like it if the person who rents the room comes back home at 2 or 3 every night etc? For example assuming i dont play poker or know anything much about poker, i kind of would feel a little a bit so and so if you know what i mean. Well you could say the same about ppl traveling and going out etc but when you play poker, well you usually are carrying decent amount of cash.

Also the thing is when you leave your things in the apartment/room, well i mean there is always a chance that person could go through your things like computer and check whats there or even compromise your computer right? Now i know this may sound paranoid but its certainly possible etc. But if its a place with a lot of very good reviews and almost no bad reviews, then its probably safe to do so then right? Because i was shocked at how there were quite a bit of rooms available where cost only 25 dollars a night and many mention that area is good and safe etc. The other thing i wonder is this. I notice lot of 2 bedroom condos in what seemed like great areas only charge like 60 or 80 dollars a night. Are these costs actually accurate to market value or its a lot less? Because i can't believe some very nice apartment/condos they charge like 60 dollars a night or 80 dollars. But however if you were to stay a month, well thats quite a bit.
