I like now that more hotel video footage is being being released the news is really trying to pound home the fact that he looks just like an older tourist guy who acted normal and you would never expect to do what he did.

What about when he's wheeling up 12 large suitcases up to his room, is that "acting" normal??? I mean maybe i travel light but one guy and 12 suitcases seems out of the norm to me. Not only that but he had bellhop take them up to his room so its not like he kept coming down and grabbing 1 or 2 to avoid suspicion.

I didn't watch the entire video, but it looked like he'd bring maybe five, go back to Mesquite, and come back with five more.

When I spent a week at the Rio for WSOP I had almost that much stuff. Two large bags of clothes and whatnot, a laptop roller bag, two big bins of drinks and snacks, and a backpack. I filled up one of those luggage carts.

No 5.56 rounds.

You have to remember all of the convention people who come to Vegas. They may have tons of bags with products, materials, booklets, or prop pieces for their booths. I'm sure its not completely uncommon for someone to have a **** ton of suitcases.

This this this.

Plus, my guess is he probably moved stuff during different work shifts. Maybe even alternated weekdays and weekends.

The video of the shooting timeline that follows that video is both frightening and heartbreaking.

Yes.

One of out local newscasters, when doing a story on this video, breathlessly mentioned that it "even shows him tipping the bellhops."

Well, no ****. Sigh.

I'm glad that more videos are being released to show what happened leading up to the shooting. There have been so many conspiracy theories coming out and so little from authorities that it has been fueling people to believe that something is being hidden.

There's almost a sense of relief to see these videos showing that it was just a crazy guy who planned out this attack all too well and found pretty standard loopholes in security to pull off his attack.

I know it is an open investigation but the mind is just naturally curious to know what happened. Lack of info just leads to wild speculation.

My grandmother used to bring a bunch of suitcases with her when she went on vacation. It was odd and kind of funny at the time. But it never came across as threatening. I don’t see why an old guy doing it would be threatening.

And even if someone noticed, he was bringing weapons up into a hotel room with no other people in it.

He seems very jovial in the casino floor footage. You'd think someone about to do this would be nervous.

On reddit people brought some interesting questions. Such as, Why so many guns? Why the constant stops at the Ogden? Why was there a snorkel in his room? and why was the top of his hotel door missing/broken?

I am still open to the gun running theory as well.

Why would he be nervous? If he had been acting nervous, people would be questioning why he was so nervous, arguing that he should have been capable of being calm and wondering if he was nervous because there was more to the story than we know.

Why so many guns? Because he was a gun nut. He would have kept shooting if possible.

The gun running theory doesn't make much sense. This all seems very meticulously planned. His internet search history points to someone who was planning a shooting.

He had so many guns because bump stocks suck. They cause jams. Instead of stopping to clear the jam he could just toss his rifle aside and pick up another one. This is what's so stupid about people that know nothing about guns trying to ban bump stocks. If anything they should encourage crazy people to use them. Besides, you don't need a bump stock to bump fire.

Well, troof. This guy knew something about guns, had tested those stocks, knew they were crap, and that's why he had so many.

Mandalay Bay either removed the machines he was playing or downgraded the pay tables to an unplayable level. VPFree2 has them as gone but that could mean the 9/7 TDB and 8/5 BP could be and machine remains. I haven't checked it out.

He was likely playing $675/spin on that machine in the video. Getting dealt trips on TDB or two pair on BP would trigger a taxable.

Wonder if they were sent somewhere to be reviewed by Gaming Commision/FBI.
