Looks like dude may have had a reserved hotel room in Chicago overlooking the Lollapalooza festival in August.

Sheriff said they have video footage of him going on an 8 hour gambling binge the day before the shooting. He thinks someone helped him but I believe he was a lone wolf. He had all that free time on his hands and casinos don't give **** what you bring in your room.

All that BS about how you have to be superman to fire that many rounds, lol. The worst thing about it would be the guns heating up and he was smart enough to deal with that by bringing so many guns. Fire a hundred rounds, then pick up a new gun. Those AR's weigh 8 pounds-ish and working a trigger isn't exactly exhausting even without a bumpstock.

He had two days to bring that stuff to his room and for all we know, a bellman helped him.

“Lone Wolf” is the term fox news and republicans use when it’s a white person. Had he been non-white he would be called a terrorist by them.

Watching the Pats game, and they had a moment of silence before the game, which reminded me that the new Las Vegas football stadium will be right across from Mandalay Bay. Other obvious stadium targets are Wrigley Field and Petco Field. Probably a lot more, too, given the (soon to be over?) downtown stadium trend.

How did this fool only have Platinum status if he was playing so much video poker at 500 bucks a hand? The NY Times mentioned he frequented Mandalay at least once a month.

Ah, I thought it was a million tier credits... was told this buy someone who had a Noir card. Just checked, you're right. Curious what the real threshold is now though.

He didn't typically bet that big. He was considered a mid-tier gambler..betting pretty big but not a whale by any stretch. He played at non-MGM properties too like Wynn.

MGM and CET have already 'reached out' to their customers (check your spam folder), "looking forward to welcoming you back soon" (word for word in both e-mails). Hardrock and Golden Nugget have not mentioned the shooting or it's impact on Vegas, at least in their marketing e-mails. I have a trip planned for late Oct, staying on the south-end of the Strip. Some poker, mostly concerts. What, if any, changes do you think might be in store for the Strip, or Las Vegas in general? How about security into or inside (in this case, indoor) concert venues?

False. Everyone knows I don't get excited anymore when I hit royals; I have to be dealt them or hit one on a 12x multiplier.

Nothing. What good would that have done in this case?

There will be some that try to prevent this EXACT thing happening again, to the nittiest detail. Down to banning hammers in hotel rooms. Then the next person will do something slightly different and nullify all that effort.

I do notice that rooms are still available at almost reasonable prices for this 3-day weekend, and considered going. But I'm still burned out from the WSOP and have no desire for poker.

Just annoyed that it takes so long to reset the damm machine, eh?

NBC News is saying he earned nearly 5 million dollars in 2015 and the majority of that was through gambling.

Would be interesting to see that win / loss statement, but it's unlikely that'll ever see the light of day.
