Haha thanks, it appears even a blind squirrel gets a nut sometimes as I hit on both the eagles/falcons under and the cubs, netting me +180 and a running total of -20.
After the Cromwell roulette disaster we headed back to the Venetian and Joe went to play poker while I sat at blackjack. After a slow start I hit an excellent shoe and cashed out +1300, then headed over to the poker room to splash around in 1/3 til kabuto at 6. Nothing eventful, I cashed out +30, Joe lost some, and we caught an Uber to kabuto.
I've seen some real excellent food reports from kabuto which I won't attempt to emulate, but here goes. We both got the kabuto (about 15 pieces) and everything was top notch. My favorite was the hokkaido scallop, very smooth and creamy. Joe's favorite was the seared Spanish mackerel.
Here's the list in order of what we got and some miscellaneous pictures:
Soy marinated tuna
Hokkaido scallop - smooth and creamy
Scalpel sawtail
Seared Spanish mackerel
Sweet shrimp
Oyster
Sea urchin - also smooth and creamy
Blue crab salad
Lean tuna
Yellowtail amberjack
Spring baby snapper
Fluke
Salmon roe - salty delicious
Young yellowtail
More Sea urchin
Jack mackerel
Medium fatty tuna
Triangle
Marbled fatty tuna - love fatty tuna
Japanese mackerel
Golden sea eel (joe subbed octopus)
Sweet omelette - hey, breakfast!
King squid - this was a soft chewy kind of like jelly, excellent flavor and texture
Tuna hand roll
Miso soup (joe had shrimp head soup, pretty cool)
Mochi (joe had cheesecake)
As I said it was an excellent experience both in experience and taste. All in it was $160 apiece, and we were quite full by the end.
TR'ing is hard!
After the delicious dinner and a shirt Uber back home, we're hitting the hay early as tomorrow we have a friendly competition set up: 24 hour poker session who can win the most. I'll do my best to update with some more poker content tomorrow.
SB total: -20
Pit games: +1000
