Mike and Jordan both have not been kicked out, surprising

Wow got so lucky just now

Dude raises to 10 lots of callers including me w qto no spade

Flop q42ss dude bets 20 I call
Turn tx dude bets I raise he calls w qjss and I hold. I hit a 2 outer on the turn

Thanks all for the good wishes

Just made it home all good and a final tally after airfare (room was comped, paid cash for all meals) is about +2500. By far the best I've done (usually lose some or all of what I bring, 0-5 G's). Also managed to run good on the plane I got an entire exit row to myself and was able to lie out and get some good sleep!

Jack is here to welcome me - recovering from surgery for his torn acl. 1 week down 7 to go!

Now begins 100 days no drinking to cleanse my system

Hi all,
It has been a while and I am extremely excited to revive this thread for my next adventure to Las Vegas!

Since my last trip I successfully completed 100 days of no drinking (which I am quite happy about), plugged along at work, counted days until football starts, and turned 30 (booo). I also read the thread on here about people tiring of Vegas, and I see their points of view, but dam that is a Debbie Downer especially when I'm staring down the barrel of this trip.

I head to Vegas on Thursday Sept 6th and depart Monday morning the 10th, so I'll be there for NFL opening weekend, which is great as I intend to place many season-long sports bets. I was also fortunate enough to have a friend make a layover in Vegas a few weeks ago and he put in a college sports bet for me, so I am in the action this weekend, so let's gooooo!

I'm going with a friend (Joe) that I met when I lived up in northeast PA, who has gotten very much into poker, which is great. So this trip will be mostly about poker, sports betting, and we have some extracurriculars planned as well. Here's the agenda (wish list) in no particular order:

NFL sports betting
Play golden nugget 1/3 no cap
O'Shea beer pong
Holsteins (tradition, although I've read a few people disappointed lately)
Hash House (tradition)
Spa
Show like Cirque de Soleil
Go cart racing
Gun range (Joe's request)
Kabuto (sushi highly recommended by you folks)
Cromwell single 0 roulette
Vodka watermelon and Aria 1/3
Mandarin bar in Mandarin Oriental hotel

We're staying at the Venetian. Shoe and Jack (dog) pic to come later.

Let's gooooo!

If you're going to make a trip up to Red Rock let me know and we can have a meal. I live about 1.5 miles away so it won't take me long to get there and I'm there most nights from 8pm to 3am or so. They have some nice promos going on in the poker room tonight (6pm to 11pm - high hands) plus a ton of other promos going on.....check Bravo out (they'll probably have 2-3 2/5 games going on come prime time).....I can also get my host to comp us a meal at Lucille's BBQ or Tbones or any other place at Red Rock. If you like to bowl I'm always up for 2-3 games of Cosmic Bowling and some food and drinks. LMK

I might also make my way to Encore or Aria this weekend. If you'd like to play some poker at Encore then I can get my host to comp the 3 of us a meal at Allegro and we can go to Encore after that.

Just pointing out that Mandarin Oriental is going away. The bar may well remain a bar with the same view, but there will undoubtedly be a rebranding.

It says August for the rebrand, but I’ve not been down that way to see if it’s already happened.

Roger that. It's on the wish list so not 100% that we'll go there (although I am looking for a bad-ass Vegas panoramic), but if we do I'll report back on the experience

Okay so one final update before departure tomorrow (Thursday) morning:
-Already -200 on sports bets (went 0/2 on the Michigan/FSU parlay, what a shock. The kiss of death is alive and well)
-Have tickets for go karts, likely to do it tomorrow afternoon
-Also planning on an indoor gun range tomorrow during the heat of the day
-Have Kabuto reservations for tomorrow evening

Shoes and roll pic:

Ok so I have put some cheddar down on sports bets, will update in full on that later, but today we need falcons eagles first half under 21.5 and cubs over nationals.

After catching up at the V we meandered on over to the cosmo and ate at Holsteins, then dropped off $300 at Cromwell roulette. Gonna head Back to the V and figure out plans til kabuto

Haha thanks, it appears even a blind squirrel gets a nut sometimes as I hit on both the eagles/falcons under and the cubs, netting me +180 and a running total of -20.

After the Cromwell roulette disaster we headed back to the Venetian and Joe went to play poker while I sat at blackjack. After a slow start I hit an excellent shoe and cashed out +1300, then headed over to the poker room to splash around in 1/3 til kabuto at 6. Nothing eventful, I cashed out +30, Joe lost some, and we caught an Uber to kabuto.

I've seen some real excellent food reports from kabuto which I won't attempt to emulate, but here goes. We both got the kabuto (about 15 pieces) and everything was top notch. My favorite was the hokkaido scallop, very smooth and creamy. Joe's favorite was the seared Spanish mackerel.

Here's the list in order of what we got and some miscellaneous pictures:

Soy marinated tuna
Hokkaido scallop - smooth and creamy
Scalpel sawtail
Seared Spanish mackerel
Sweet shrimp
Oyster

Sea urchin - also smooth and creamy
Blue crab salad
Lean tuna
Yellowtail amberjack

Spring baby snapper
Fluke
Salmon roe - salty delicious

Young yellowtail
More Sea urchin

Jack mackerel
Medium fatty tuna
Triangle
Marbled fatty tuna - love fatty tuna

Japanese mackerel
Golden sea eel (joe subbed octopus)
Sweet omelette - hey, breakfast!
King squid - this was a soft chewy kind of like jelly, excellent flavor and texture
Tuna hand roll
Miso soup (joe had shrimp head soup, pretty cool)

Mochi (joe had cheesecake)

As I said it was an excellent experience both in experience and taste. All in it was $160 apiece, and we were quite full by the end.

TR'ing is hard!

After the delicious dinner and a shirt Uber back home, we're hitting the hay early as tomorrow we have a friendly competition set up: 24 hour poker session who can win the most. I'll do my best to update with some more poker content tomorrow.

SB total: -20
Pit games: +1000
Poker: +30
Food/drink/misc: -225

After some Vegas quality (read: bad) sleep, we are just beginning the 24 hour poker challenge, 4:30am to 4:30am. Whoever does worse pays for the 1 hotel night that we weren't comped ($160 total).

Starting with $300

I'll try to update every 2-4 hours
