Omega Mart - Arts District - Fremont Omega Mart - Arts District - Fremont

Heading Vegas next week and staying at the Cosmo for 4 days. We have tickets to Omega Mart on Saturday and thought about doing a day/night off strip. The plan would be to go from Omega Mart to the Arts District and brewery hop around before heading to Fremont. Any recommendations or opinions if this is worth doing?

I think that 75%+ of Las Vegas locals probably would have no real knowledge of anything you mention......despite the quality opportunities offered by your plan.

Omega Mart has sounded great as an art experience.

Yes, a visit after to the Arts District, and the emerging brewery/restaurant offerings there ARE worth a visit ..... Fremont, not so much except once, to see the canopy and if there is free live music. There are a few good regulars playing periodically on the street, but that is really hit or miss.

As for the Arts District, there are a couple of new brew spots opened, there are new restaurants as well. Personally, I still recommend Esther's Kitchen, which has been around for 3 years. A new BBQ place around the corner of Main and California is touted by restaurant folks in the area as worth trying. ....Also, Makers and Takers

Good Pie on Ogden, slightly north of Fremont in the "Ogden" is another good choice near Fremont. The Container Park further along Fremont is okay to visit as well. There is a another very good breakfast spot, Publicus, right on one of the corners on Fremont near the El Cortez ....blueberry muffins and breakfast recommended. ........I'm going to make it a point to stop by next time I get back.

Just my 2 cents, but it is nice to see entertainment and development of venues aside from the Strip and the beach/clubs.

Thanks all. We’re going to bounce around the Arts district for a couple hours before going to Fremont. Servehzah, Able Baker, Crafthaus, and The Mad Fermentist all seem good. The reactions I get to Fremont are so polarizing. Half of the people love it and say go spend some there for debauchery and shenanigans and the other half say it’s a waste of time.

Post TR if you end up doing this please! Not been to Able Baker or The Mad Fermentist, would like to know how they are Servehzah lets you take bottles away if you're so inclined and I think Silver Stamp is also worth checking out for beer.

I think that street has enough options to keep you going through the day / night but if you do end up as far as Fremont big +1 to Publicus, I don't think I've had anything there that I haven't enjoyed. If you've made it that far, you might as well throw in Atomic Liquors to to keep it going into the late night

Arts district is the spot. Servehzah has the best beer selection by far. Able baker is great. Mad fermentist is great. Silver stamp feels like it was transported from a Texas grandma’s basement in 1984 to present day and has great beers. Esther’s kitchen, good pie, and soul belly BBQ are all incredible.

I think a lot of it depends on your price point comfort level... more financially established folks will probably liken it to a bunch of low lifers trying to get their gamble on, while other just look at it as just normal people having fun. If your taste runs to the Wynn and Aria, you might have some level of disappointment. I personally think it is DEFINITELY worth the time and it's fun.

definitely go to Circa, they did a great job for the limited space they had to work with. Plaza's a waste of time.

Will be in Vegas starting Saturday and am planning to go down to the Arts District after making a deposit at the Superbook sometime next week. I've only been to ReBar and Velveteen Rabbit in that area, so looking forward to trying out some other spots. Am debating whether or not to do a trip report (probably wont bc I'll be in Vegas for at least 5 weeks....that is too daunting a task) but I wouldnt have a problem reporting back in this thread if I follow through with a visit to The Arts District.

I'm so pissed that I didn't do a bar crawl in Arts District during my last trip. I blame the Lakers.
