I’m gonna wash the ish part of that and call it a +800 day. With the dice winnings I’m up close to 1k. With the coin I won on the under it’s near 1.4k.

Winning and losing shouldn’t ever make your Vegas trip, but winning and not losing should always make your Vegas trip better.

Also Victoria was our waitress again up at Starlight 66. No pics (if you can’t tell I’m not a people pic guy) but she was awesome again. She’s easy to pick out because she wears a gold necklace that says, uh, Victoria.

Tuesday July 13th

Wake up earlier (again) to a pretty dead phone (again) and head to the pool (again) to soak up some rays. Flight out is at 5ish, so I have some time to kill. On the way back to the room stopped in the market

The Eats

Chicken Sandwich with Gold Sauce and a beer from Streetbird. Highly recommended. Chicken was a sizeable cut and Juicy, brought some heat, all around worth the 15ish $.

Up to the room to pack and

Beat: I get a knock on my door at 11:10 from housekeeping. I had already asked and received a late checkout the night before, or at least that is what I was told. I do have some Hilton status. It’s a pretty standard ask from me.

I see, as soon as Im supposed to leave you come immediately to turn over my room. I have no real problems with this except for my room being missed for a whole day earlier in my stay. Not like I was asking a ton here either, 1 PM is plenty of time for a Tuesday departure. Also, if they told me no, I could’ve flipped my eats till after packing up and made it out without any hassle.

Anyway, told housekeeping I’d be out within 20 min and handed over 5$ (not their fault at all). Packed up my suitcase and headed down to leave it with the bellhop.

Beat: No one is working the bellhop desk? After waiting for 5 minutes I just ask the valet who checks them for me. 3 other people immediately que right behind me to do this is well. Very odd for a place that seems to just have a lot of employees wandering around or helping direct guests that you just get directed outside to a desk with no one at it. Ill chalk it up to new hotel issues.

Anyway, bags dropped off, it’s about 1:30 and I head to the poker room. As luck would have it there’s a new 1-3 game starting. In for 300$, and I get my first hand by 1:45, with a hard stop at 2:30 to leave. In for 300$ (which was 100 more than anyone else?). Played LAG for 45 minutes, never called down, out for 500 and change, plus 3 Stella’s. Ive had much worse days leaving Vegas. Go to get my bags and get out and

Beat:

Taxi stand is all the way across the casino from the Bellhop? You can stand and just press your luck with a drop off at the bellhop station, but yeah, very weird, and dumb, and not thought out well.


Anyway I teamed up with another guy heading out and we grabbed the next cab (15 minute wait) and headed to McCarran. The rest of the story is all my fault, but I’ll include it just in case it helps anyone else.

Slurmz is on Delta (Term 1) guy X is on American? (Term 3). No problem, I’ll just tram my way over or whatever, I have time.


BAD MOVE. DO NOT DO THIS.


My home Airport has trams within terminals and between the 2 terminals. McCarran of course does not because it really is a terrible, terrible airport.


Anyway, told I get to sit out in the 115 degree heat waiting for the shuttle, which comes according to the sign “Every 15, 30 minutes”. 20 min later it shows up and I finally get to Terminal 1.


The next part really is on me, but the gate agent did tell me B gate, I know because I asked twice, but did not check my boarding pass. Anyway clear security for A, B gates (how TSA didn’t say anything IDK, but then again I do know because they aren’t paying attention to anything) only to figure it out and have to run across the place to clear again at C, D gates. Running pretty damn close and….


1 of the monorails is down. I guess I'd rather use up my bad luck at the airport in Vegas than at the tables, but damn, I definitely boarded after the last call over the loudspeaker.


Lesson Learned


I’ll do a wrap up post later this week. Sorry about the delay on this one. Life happens sometimes.
