Love seeing and following along with these TRs – got the green light at home to get a WSOP weekend in this year. Did a Vegas weekend for poker in January this year and prior was a WSOP 2021-Fall version.

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/1...-11-a-1796681/

Couldn’t convince any friends to travel along – will be meeting up with a couple people that I know are out there if schedules allow. My agenda so far:
6/14 (Wed) – arrive in Vegas 6PMish, check in and venture to WSOP for some cash and to check it out.
6/15 (Thu) – cash games, maybe resorts world, Wynn or whatever else looks OK
6/16 (Fri) – Aria $800 Seniors. I’m not a tourney player but kinda a bucket list thing to try a larger tourney. S score on this not great, but I understand as much and part of the reason it’s not great is 30 minute blinds and tourney starts 11AM and finishes in one day.
6/17 (Sat) – cash games
6/18 (Sun) – leave early AM flight

This trip all about poker….not too concerned about any fancy food (will likely conflict with poker), other than maybe a good breakfast/brunch to start the day. Not one to drink much at all/imbibe.

Not renting a car – looking for some help picking a place….wants are on strip, clean and safe. Will be OK with no room service in the 3ish days.

So far I’m looking at:
Polo Towers (reviews are OK, closer to strip than…) $600
MGM Signature (reviews are pretty good) $800ish
Resorts World poker rate $800ish (not sure I want to be forced to play 5 hrs / day), plus if I want to play anywhere other than RW or Wynn I’m definitely cabbing/uber

1st two would allow walk if I wanted to Aria/WSOP without a ton of hassle.

A couple hundred dollars big picture shouldn’t really matter – I just enjoy the hustle of trying to find a deal. My flight was booked with credit card points – I have no muscle with player cards, only play poker and not in Vegas that often (so comps aren’t a thing).

Pic of doggo

Looks like a great itinerary!

Depart this afternoon - excited. Mandatory shoes and bankroll pics. Staying at MGM Grand - couple free nights thru my card/rewards for 4 nights and $450 incl fees and tax. Good deal for a poker only player.

Latest agenda:
Tonight cash at MGM and maybe WSOP (check it out at least)
Tomorrow cash in afternoon at RW, morning tbd
Friday - Aria $800 Seniors 11AM. Non tourney player but I kinda have to during WSOP, right?
Saturday - cash at RW likely afternoon

I like the artistry on the 350, but, as a poker player please get away from $50 bills

I should’ve mentioned - that $50 bill was for illustrative purposes only. It’s sitting at home. I play in a local home game and occasionally get paid out in $20s and $50s depending on what folks buy in for…conflicted as getting paid more than I came with is good….but $50s? Bank will take them I guess

That might be the best BR picture on 2p2.

I'm disappointed in myself for how long it took me to 'get' that pic.

Still in for the sweat.

Just out of the Uber and fresh vomit to be found (not it). MGM room is marginal, definitely dated but seems clean and price was right.

Time to check out the NL tables here, then some food and maybe wander to WSOP.

Shot of WSOP room in Paris. I’ll say I’ve never set foot on this property and it took a while to get back there since I had no idea where I was going.

Prior to heading to WSOP, played a two hour session at MGM 1-3 NL where I lost $390, most of it one one hand where I got jammed into on the river, and I knew my two pair was not good. Game was pretty slow and not much action so I moved on to Paris.

Sat at a decent 2–5 game for about four hours, and proceeded to win $550

And here I sit awake prior to 7 AM local time, despite being tired. This is a drawback to my early morning, ways back home CST. Will find more sleep at some point.

In looking at bravo, waiting list didn’t seem too terrible last night

If it's good enough for General Grant, it's good enough for me.

And run it up!

Well….maybe it was the shoes pic or the tree fitty…but we had ourselves a day today at RW.

Arrived about 2PM and sat at 2-5NL fairly quickly. Never got much going, was down $800, fought back to down only $200 but then flushed back to -$775 when I cashed out after 2 hours. How did we have a day when starting out in the hole at our normal stakes? Jump into 5-10 streets. That was my main reason to go and take a shot at higher game than I play. Buy in 500 to 3000 and had the bounty game ($40 penalty per person) that today was 9-2 and $50 double board PLO bomb pots every dealer change. Started with $2,200, out for $7,335).

Started OK and 2nd or 3rd bomb pot I played I was dealt 8-8-4-5. Flops were 8-3-4 and J-2-3. Guy led for $200 and I just called next to act and 2 more callers. First board turned a J and an amazing A (No flush) hit 2nd board. First guy went $1,000 and I shipped. Only caller was bettor who was priced and live with set of 2s and flush draw on my straight board. Beautiful red queen and straight held. He had 2 pair on my set board but drawing dead. Scoopy doopy for my largest pot ever, over $5,000.

Now back to the room (tired) with visions of shipping Aria $800 seniors NL single day tomorrow at 11AM. Will wake up after hopefully seven or eight hours of sleep, maybe get a quick workout, grab a decent breakfast, maybe grab some Vegas, golden knights swag for the family and get to Aria. Celebrating only way an old married guy would: Sleeve of double stuffed Oreos, and a big water.

Peak stack. Cashed out a band (those money counters stop at $5K), who knew.

Line for room elevator - didn’t know USA v Mexico was tonight at Allegiant. Tons of people.

Saturday will be nuts trying to go anywhere with a Stanley Cup parade running down the strip at 7 PM. I’m hearing there’s going to be restrictions on what people upfront can have and they’re going to start closing down the area earlier. I think I’m going to hunker down in a poker room from mid afternoon and not plan on coming out until later evening.

Congrats on a nice pot. That almost sounds like a FT cash in a decent tournament.

Good Luck with the Seniors tournament tomorrow.

Wishing for more bomb pots!!!

First break and we’re at 23k of staring 30k. Had AA twice, won on cbet. Good lay down of 10-10 on 7 high board on turn to big bet to a guy that just called my preflop 3 bet, raised flop and showed K-K after I folded.

Busto at the end of level 6. Won 1 small pot after break. Busted when I shoved 8K on river with missed flush draw into pot of about 16k. Should’ve shoved turn when I picked up flush draw to make it harder on villain but he still probably calls since he caught Q on turn. Not sure why he called flop with nothing, but I’m confirmed tourney slug
