I guess that wouldn't take very long no matter how many tables...

Spoke to Kat today, and you must play 5 hours/day to clear the rate. So as far as I can tell, there's no particular advantage to being w/ the 2+2 crew as far as the room rate goes.

Pretty sure it's HU winner moves on, but I'll defer to augie to lay out the exact format.

a flipament means everyone is all in every hand. so, unless there are split pots, the tournament should end in like 4 hands.

I will be able to make this. What kind of "low limit mixed games are played" ? Like $4/$8 Horse?

The flipament sure has come a long way since making private HU tourneys on Stars. I'll be there.

Just listened to the promo part on the latest pokercast... Sounds like it's going to be awesome. Pretty excited about this

Can we get some clarification ITT? When I spoke with her, I was told that attending and playing at the 2p2 meetup was sufficient.

I will be cancelling my reservation at Aria if I have to play 5 hrs a day to clear the rate. Sorry to nit up the thread, but conflicting information doesn't sit well with me.

what specifically did you say on the phone when you called her? is your stay beyond the party? did you mention the 2+2 party when you called?

I informed her that I'd be coming to play the 2+2 Aria Classic and that I'd be in town for 10 days, and asked whether the rate that the code got me was good just for the party itself, or for the whole stay. She said it was good for the whole stay, then quoted me 99 weekdays/139 weekends. She said I'd be required to avg 5 hrs/day in the poker room to maintain that rate. I accepted. Then, I looked on the Aria website and found that that is their standard poker rate, and the 5 hrs/day is the standard requirement. In other words, the code is worthless AFAIK.

i think my OP might be poorly worded. if someone wants to come stay at aria just to come play poker at the party, i am pretty sure you can get the special rate for those days without playing 5 hours per day in the poker room.

it does kind of make sense to me that you would get the regular poker room rate for the rest of your days. however, you wouldn't know that based upon this thread.

maybe Adam will see this post and clarify before i get a hold of him.

Augie,

Here is the clarification and maybe why some people got confused. If someone is going to the party than they get the rate for the whole stay. Kat was saying that people might not make the party. If they dont make the party and they play in one of our tournaments during the ARIA Classic than all they have to do is show her their receipt and they get the rate. Next scenario, if they do not make the party or play in a tournament than they will have to play 5 hours a day to get the rate. The poker rate is $99 Sunday through Thursday and $139 Friday and Saturday. The casino rate has gone up on the weekends to $169. We knew this would happen, this is why we locked in these rates for poker. If we hadnt locked in these rates than we would have been subject to the casino rate variance. I hope this helps!

Adam

yes, their high stakes room is called the ivey room. the 2+2 party is not being held in the main poker room. it's in one of the banquet rooms.
