Are you good at poker? The 1/2 pays 34 tc/hour. I don't know if the 2/5 pays more. The video poker there has bad paytables, but you could walk over to PHo where there are supposed to be some good games.

I'm ok at poker but grinding 1/2 for 30 hours doesn't seem like the way to go. Pho has good payable double double?

I'm in a similar boat (around 14k pts) but don't really see the value in putting a bunch of money in a slot just to get it. I don't know if the reward is worth the risk. Other than access to diamond lounges, what are the real benefits/value you can get for being diamond vs. platinum? You get free parking with both. And you get the $100 meal but whatever. If it meant I could get rooms comped from time to time, or could get easy upgrades that might make it worth it despite the fact I live here.

Yeah, I meant do some of your time with poker, some with VP. Try to get 500 on one of the days. You get a small tier bonus.

You don't even get access to Diamond lounges starting next year. You need 25k tc. If you make lots of visits it can be worth it. You don't have to pay resort fees, you get 2 pm late checkouts, line jumping, etc. If you live there it's not worth it. Why would you stay in a hotel room unless you plan to get drunk and want a handy place to crash?

I thought it wasn't going up to 25k until 2019. If it's this year then it's not worth it. And yeah, the hotel rooms would only be for times when friends come to town and want to get the experience of staying on the Strip. Not more than 1-2x a year.

Might be, I didn't actually check the year. I got the email that pimped me to do 25k by the end of this year, so I assumed it took effect next year.

Simple live here or not it's worth it. Just made diamond and I already getting offers of free stays got 3 free comps for January already booked my first room total cost 0!!

1. Free rooms - bring back girls get laid!! is the best reason!
2. Diamond lounge access just play 5 hours of poker and you're in.
3. Free Line cutting everywhere for CET properties.
4. Free Parking
5. Free swimming pools with out having a room.
6. Upgraded drinks and waters while playing poker.
7. Free gym
8. Free spa entrance (must pay for massages ETC ETC)
9. 2 Free 100 dollar dinners at least for me.
10. Reward Credits turn into free play equals free money!
11. Free show tickets every month that value is at least 700 per year.
12. No resort fees
13. Free valet.
14. I am sure there is way more but that's mostly what I know

So in a sense Diamond is still worth it, I dare any of you to put in time at Stations or MGM properties and let me know if you get the same I will put any amount up that you won't unless you're a WHALE.

^MGM properties doesn’t even try with its offers. I never had interest in getting Platinum because there was nothing to get excited about.

BTW the free shows are pretty crappy other than Penn & Teller. I've been Diamond for 2 years and haven't gone to a single show yet.

if you don't live in vegas and travel to vegas multiple times a year, i think diamond is so worth it. it is of significant value to me because i go to vegas ~8 times a year, and the biggest savings are from not having to pay resort fees (20-25 days = $600-$750) and parking valet (20-25 days = $360-$450). the $100 dollar celebration dinner, skipping lines at restaurants and prioritized check-in are just cherry on top.

Just to follow up..
Thanks to all who replied.
I gave the wife 200 for a penny machine and she popped it for like 1600, so after that it wasn't even really a sweat. Played alot of double double and the wife played alot of pennies.

Anxious to see how diamond is vs platinum next year.

GL to all still trying to qualify
