I went to Vegas back in December and degend it up all over the place at multiple properties on and off the strip. I've received a bunch of comp offers, mostly 4-5 nights at a time, that I can stack up and shuffle around at different properties (Total, MLife, Boyd) to meet the requirement of at least 48 hrs between comped stays with any one reward program.

I am considering staying in Vegas from April 3 to May 1. Has anyone attempted something similar before? What are some things to consider / keep in mind? I'd appreciate tips on things like the most cost efficient way to manage meals and snacks, best way to keep clean clothes, etc. Or is this just a stupid idea that I should not even attempt?

I was very lucky on my first trip and kept playing higher as I kept winning. I am being heavily over comped and plan on just playing the comped tournaments throughout the month, using all the freeplay and resort credit, and doing very little actual gambling.

Keep in mind that, although "comped", unless you have a high status (e.g., diamond with total rewards) you'll be on the hook for the resort fee every day. For your month-long stay, this will be roughly in the neighborhood of $800. Just a heads up.

take the time to do some grocery shopping. Stop at Whole Foods and you can stock up on snacks and keep them handy in your room. This will save you a lot of money and you can eat healthier (if you care about that...)

Similarly stock up on booze in your room....again save the $$$

What exactly is your question? If it's: Has anyone stayed for at least a month on the Strip on various properties? The answer is yes, I've done that multiple times.

I don't think there's a huge difference regarding food/clothing between staying one and four weeks.

You can buy groceries and prepare them in your room. If there's no kitchen, you can eat cereal bars and things like that every day. Or you spend more and go to cheap restaurants and fast food places. Or you spend even more and go to better restaurants.

You should be able to bring clothes for a month if you take two larger suitcases. Especially since you won't need any warm stuff. Or you wash in your tub for free. Or you spend more and take things to a laundromat. Or you spend even more and let the hotel handle your laundry.

For some people, one month in Vegas is a good idea. For others, it isn't. Nobody can really tell you which category you fall into.

And water. Vegas tap water is vile.

You can get a microwave for 50 bucks. It'll pay for itself in less than a week.

This isn't true everywhere. I've stayed at The D and the Cosmo several times and never had to pay a resort fee on a comped room (though I would have to pay it were I to pay for a room at either place).

I did this for 4+ months last summer. But I also had my car, so I was able to go to the laundromat, etc. Ate a lot of snack bars, protein packs, etc.

Definitely keep plenty of water around. Ask for some when you check in; many places have it behind the desk. Or just walk into high limit checkin (e.g. Caesars) and grab a few bottles.

I think I only paid resort fees at the MLife properties.
