Not debating whether Vegas offers more (the most) game selection. They do. Poker in Vegas certainly has it's positives.

My point was simply about making money. If your goal is to make money/have the highest hourly possible, Vegas is one of the worst spots to be playing poker (especially 1/2) in the country. If you hit $20/hr playing 1/2 in Vegas over 1k+ hours you're a 1/2 stud (and shouldn't be playing 1/2). Other places in the country you can get up to $40-50/hr playing 1/2 over the same sample (playing significantly deeper stacked 1/2 games)

So Vegas would not be a good place to live as a professional live grinder?

It's not the worst option, and it has some advantages like low cost of living. I think if you play 1/2-1/3nl you just have so many different poker room options you can find your niche and do fine, especially if you are willing to adapt your playtime to the best promos and action.

As you start to move up to 2/5+ I think that's where other cities have a clear edge over Vegas.

Thanks for the “heads up”. I was relying on the info in the Bravo app. I also made reservations at the Bellagio, again misinterpreting the Bravo info.
That settles it: Will cancel the Bellagio reservation & play at the Nugget. I will be throwing a party in the room and steaming off big bucks. All locals cordially invited to attend. Just look for an OMC wearing a Red Sox hat.
