Our split system

1) The total EV ROI of the pool is calculated (EV ROI = EV profit / the amount of buy-ins * 100, where the amount of buy-ins = the amount of tournaments * limit).
2) The total actual ROI of the pool is calculated (ROI = actual profit / the amount of buy-ins * 100).
3) The coeff of ROI's deviation is calculated (coeff = ROI - EV ROI).
4) The EV ROI of each player is calculated.
5) The EV ROI of each player is increased or decreased depending on the coeff.
Based on the new EV ROI, $EV is calculated in reverse order.
6) The difference between $EV and actual profit is the amount to be sent/received to or from the pool.

Hello, everyone. Today I decided to spend an hour of my work time on telling you about our final table.

Typical questions you ask:

• Why don’t I get my exact EV?
• Why are there two of them damn tables (in reality thereÂ’s only one)?
• What kind of data is in this goddamn table?

OK, so let’s get to it. Our final table looks like this:



The first three lines in the header show basic info about the period: the total amount of tournaments played, the total amount of buyins, total pool’s EV, total pool’s profit, average buyin, swing, ROI and evROI and coeff.

Swing is very simple to calculate = Total Profit - TotalEV

Coeff (% ROI) = Swing / TotalBI * 100

The yellow cells contain the euro rate which is fixed right before the pool of the current period is closed (in the morning of 21st). Remember, all calculations in our pool are made in USD, players bear their exchangesÂ’ and transactionsÂ’ costs independently.


OK, so why don’t you get your exact EV won?

It’s pretty simple — each period pool runs over EV or under EV depending on variance.

At this point the best assumption we have as to why the pool runs under EV more often is that the EV formula for Spins doesn’t account for the fluctuations of chips/EV equalizing it for every single tournament regardless of the multiplier.

OK. Why are there two of them damn tables?

This one is very easy. In reality there’s only one final table that’s being published once a month on the morning of the 25th.

The preliminary results table you see in your account on our website IS NOT FINAL as you can tell from the name.

You’re supposed to use the said table to check if your preliminary results are correct and to monitor the status of your hand histories check from current or any other previous period.



We’ve sorted out the common questions regarding our final table, now let’s discuss
what data is included in the table and how to use it.




The first four columns contain the player’s nickname, hand histories’ check status for the current period, stake played and distance played on that stake.
Then we have columns with EVchips (All-in Adj in PT4), ChEV, EV USD won and actual USD profit.
There are separate lines for every stake of every player in the pool.

Total $ column is just a sum of actual USD profit for every stake of a player.
Total $EV however is not always equal to the sum of EV USD because the HH corr column is also included in this calculation.

The number in the HH corr column can appear as a result of your hand histories verification.


The column Final $EV is calculated very easily = TotalBI * coeff \ 100 + EV. For players who use EV deal the coeff is fixed and at this point equals -0.15.

You can get your Final $EV using another columns: Total $EV - corr = Final $EV


You can see the impact of the pool coeff on your personal USD profit in the corr column, or you can calculate it yourself using the formula TotalBI * coeff \ 100. TotalBI is the total amount of buyins and evROI% = $EV \ TotalBI. In the Stake column you can see euro stakes, but these stakes are included in the poolÂ’s calculations in their USD equivalent using the fixed exchange rate.

Next we have x100, x200, EVDeal columns. The first two show the % of money won in x100 and x200 multipliers that are included in the pool, and the third one shows if the EV Deal service is active for this player.


Last but not least. As I mentioned earlier, there is only one final table. The data in your account on our website, including the get\send amount, is only preliminary.
The pool fee ( $Pool column) and EV deal fee ( $EV Deal column) ARE NOT included in your account on our website.

The final amount of money to receive or to send can be found in the final table under the get\send column and equals get\send = Final $EV - Total $ - $Pool - $EV Deal.

If the number in the get\send column is negative, the player ran over EV and has to send money out. If the number is positive, it means the player ran under EV and has to get money from the pool.

Good news from the administration! In accordance with your wishes and demands about adding the long-awaited GGPokerok into the pool, the administration made titanic efforts and as always in the shortest possible period of time DELIVERED once again! The new room will be added to the pool starting 18.09.2020.

The probabilities of multipliers are similar to those on PS.com with a 7% rake:

The reporting period starts on the 18th at 00.00 UTC (02:00 MSK), and ends on 17th 23.59 UTC (01:59 MSK).


Please note that the room is relatively new so we recommend not to keep more than 50 buyins of your highest played limit on your account.

All transfers will be made using payment systems.

Players are responsible for providing audit and hand histories. We will help you with this by providing a specially written plugin for downloading and sending reports.

You need to make at least 40.41 chipEV to have 0$ EV at GGPokerok.

We also want to inform you about adding the $1000 limit on PokerStars to the pool. Adding this limit will be possible starting on 21.09.2020.

The expected volume of games on this limit will affect the variance of the pool within 0.016% EVROI. The current deviation of +/- 0.339% EVROI will become +/- 0.355% EVROI. 26.79 chipEV to have 0$ EV at 1000s.

All these innovations have been agreed and approved by the Players' Union.

Hello, everyone. I was lucky to be in the Union, although I didn't get there on the first try. For those who do not know – I did not have enough votes in the first round of voting. But I got into it a few months later. The person decided to leave the Union, and there were second elections for his place.

I think that the work of the Union cannot be regarded as the work of one person, it is teamwork. I can say with confidence that each of us has contributed.

It all started with cleaning up most of the issues left over from the past union, which were dragging on for a long time, but remained unresolved.

At the same time, new cases arose. There were a huge number of situations for the discussion, some of them were trivial and solved in 5 minutes. And some of the issues were resolved for months, cause it was difficult to come close to one decision even for the five of us. Sometimes there was no optimal solution. After all, taking into account the human factor, it is always impossible to please everyone.

I've always tried to be strict but fair. Sometimes it was harsh, but more often we still went to meet people and gave a second (third, fifth, tenth) chance. Everything is human with us. This is exactly what I like about our pool - every case is considered separately.

There were also many suggestions for improving the quality of the pool. Most of them were rejected, some were simply not physically possible to realize, but some had passed our evaluation. I am sure, that makes our pool the best for many years to come!

Hello everyone. So the time has come to summarize the 2020 Player’s Union convocation.

I, as the most non-public person, became a member quite unexpectedly for myself.

And now, looking back without false modesty I will say that I am proud of the work we have managed to do during this period.

The first half of the cadence was the most intense and incomprehensible, but at the same time, the most important, which made it possible to set goals, distribute responsibilities, and simply unite and move forward, solving the problems that arose.

Well, of course, the patience of the pool administration team is worth mentioning. They contributed a lot to "acclimatize" our five in difficult conditions. I am sure it wasn't always easy for them, but they held on.

It is probably worth mentioning what was important and what has been achieved:

- The scheme of working with problem cases has been completely redesigned. Meanwhile, we have kept an individual approach – this is the main thing that the pool has always been proud of. This question was not easy for us, but after a while, it is clear that it was the right decision.
- We have implemented a “floating” stabilization fund. This allowed us to achieve transparency of all movements in the pool.
- We closed all the questions that had been accumulating for a long time.
Teamwork was important here: our new ideas, enthusiasm, and the "political will" of the administration to move forward, the desire to take on new responsibilities, to change for the better.
I want to thank everyone for the experience I have gained working with all of you. I wish all of us to move forward no matter what!

P.S. It is especially pleasant that after us there is not a bare field but an infrastructure that will help to understand the new team all the details of the pool operation which sometimes we lacked so much.

Hello everyone. I have been inactive in the Union for the last months because I started playing MTT. Therefore, I will briefly share my thoughts on the work done by the Union and the administration of the SP.

For the first time, the Union did what the previous convocations did not succeed in – stuck its nose as deep as possible and transferred all debtors of the pool to an open information field. And also we established the strictest and open control over the movement of the stabilization fund. These things maximally represent the interests of all players of the pool, without exception. We can be proud of the results of the work the Union has done!
As for the administration, it must be kept in mind that the SP is a business and they have their interest in resolving all issues.

However, they share all their ideas, problems, and initiatives with the Union and this is respectful!

Also, I would like to express my respect to Disa (d1sAA). She remains impartial and her audits are always accurate!

Well, I want to thank each member of the Union for the work they’ve done! For the ability to listen, hear, act and support throughout the year. And no offense to Arseniy (firearsenal) and Andrey (AlavistaB), I want to especially highlight Katya (Lllalete) and Andrey (nixON232) - in my opinion, they gave themselves without a trace

The SF Player’s Union is balancing the pool management system very well. There are practically no administration decisions and disputes without Union participation (sometimes we even fight but essentially, since everything is for the sake of a better pool).

I would like to wish the future convocation to be attentive and not be limited to topics - the pool is alive and we need to help it grow flexible. Interaction with other pools is also important. There are many common problems: from scammers to intentional loss of the big multipliers.

It was a pleasure to work with all the guys, everyone invested as much as they could afford and I hope we will interact together in the future.

A year in the union passed almost unnoticed for me. There were so many things to do that I did not pay attention to how time flies.

My colleagues described the range of tasks that we had to face, so I will not repeat it. I'll just tell you that personally for me it was a very cool job, beyond what I have ever done. I argued with colleagues, tried to figure out the numbers, and talked a lot with people. Some of these peoples were wounded me to the very soul when you go to meet a person once, twice, three, and he ultimately does not fulfill any of his promises. But the good news is that there were other examples of responsible and honest persons who fell into a difficult situation but did not lose face. This leaves me with faith in humanity.

This year taught me to understand the situation and not be superficial. I am a person who loves the rules were followed and followed no matter what. But now I can clearly say for myself that sometimes it is worth digging deeper into a specific case and seeing many details that radically change the picture, attitude to the situation, and the person.

I am very happy that my work in the Union brought me together with Andrey nixON232, Arseniy firearsenal, Andrey AlavistaB, Maxim Merkurynight. The guys became my friends.

Hello, anyone is alive here ? I`m looking for a backer for some tournaments on pokerstars WCOOP.

Spin&go and variance

We all know that Spin&go is a poker discipline with the highest variance among all. The variance is so high that it is very difficult for an ordinary player who plays 3 000 tournaments a month to reach his mathematical expectations.

Just think about it. You play 6 days a week, work on improving your game like crazy, consuming almost all your free time, and you have to spread not caviar, or even butter, but EV on bread.

The reality is that for every 3 thousand tournaments, it is normal to get a swing of 100 buy-ins (about 3% of the ROI)

What does it mean? That means that with a probability of 68% for every three thousand regular spins, the player's difference between EV and actual profit will be in the range from +100 to -100 buy-ins. And with a 32% probability, he will exceed this range.

It's probably not bad when we talk about upswing, right? But what if it's downswing?

If this is a downswing, then the scenario is something like this: you lose a significant part of the bankroll, and move down limits, while being in a horrible psychological state. Thoughts about the game cause terrible stress. Nerves are on edge. You sit down at the table and everything inside shrinks in anticipation of the next loss with 80% equity.

The solution in this situation is quite counterintuitive - to play even more. The only thing that helps to reach mathematical expectations is distance. However, as we said at the very beginning, it is very difficult for an individual player to make the green line with the orange one connect.

This state of things does not suit many players, so they decided to unite into pools.

All players of the Steel Phoenix pool combined play more than 2 million tournaments per month, which reduces the variance for each player from +/-100 buy-ins per month to less than +/- 7 buy-ins.

Playing in the pool allows you to forget about the stress of losing with AA against 22 because the money for it will be returned to you. All you need is to work on your mathematical expectations.
