I don't want to bother all the mods by PM'ing them to ask this... I reached an agreement with the seller in this thread for a $250 purchase, but would like to escrow it since he does not have any references and has only been a member since March. I know this is a hassle for an escrow, but I don't feel comfortable sending first and I don't know anyone on here that would be a good escrow. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Sorry, I don't escrow, and I don't know that any of the other mods here do either.

Thanks. I didn't think so, but as you pointed out in another thread, everyone's always mentioning using escrow, but I couldn't find any.

My basic position is I won't escrow. The rare exceptions I can come up with are instances where I'm absolutely certain the two parties could find another escrow anyhow.

I remember seeing a thread somewhere basically for trading money between sites (i.e., I have $x on FTP and I want it on Stars, so I send my x to someone on FTP and they send me x on Stars), but I can't find it anymore. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and would you care to point me in the right direction?

Question for the Marketplace since the thread is now closed;

Did anyone ever receive their free subscription to Maxim when that link was posted several months ago?

Just double checking where is the correct place to post my "for sale" notice.

I have a ticket to the €2k Irish Poker Championship that I won as part of a different tourney that I'd like to sell. Note I don't want to sell pieces or %, I want to sell the whole ticket outright for someone to go and play themselves.

Right here in the main forum is where those usually go.

I don't think they're transferable. But our policy on them is in the sticky:

*Training Site Subscriptions. Same deal, you can't buy or sell them here. One Exception: Unused Cardrunners and Stoxpoker subscriptions can be sold, however you may not list the price in the thread, nor can Want-To-Buy threads be made.

I just want to make sure I understand fully.
An E-book can not be sold in the Marketplace at all?

I won a copy of Let There Be Range in a live tournament and I don't have any use for it. The activation code has never been used, in fact I don't even have the code yet.

Any recommendations on how I can pass this off at a discount to someone who really wants it?

I'm the author of said book. All our activation codes are used for all books that we send out.

BUYERS BEWARE.

kegstand, if you believe your copy is legit, please PM where the tournament was held and who you won it from.

Thanks.

Correct. We put this rule in place because it's just too hard for us to verify whether a copy is legitimate or not, and although I'm sure some potential sellers here would have legit copies for sale, I'd expect that the vast majority wouldn't.

Now in this case, if the author is able to confirm that your copy is legit and the sale of it is OK, we might consider allowing it. Doesn't look real promising ATM thought.

Bobo Fat,

Thank you for your help.

I also want to let everyone know that as of the moment, no one has the legal rights to re-sell "Let There Be Range."

That doesn't mean you cannot re-sell it. You can. But you must inform us the transfer of rights so we no longer offer you support since you are no longer our customer. If you don't inform us and go ahead and sell the book while keeping a copy for yourself, you are illegally distributing copyrighted materials.

Again, as of now, no one has informed me they will be re-selling their copies.

Mods can I please have that post back about the Professional Thief summary. I understand that I made one in the student forum also but it was getting more hits here. Thanks

No you can't, and it has nothing to do with your other thread. I guess I'll have to check and see if it's in the rules, but we generally don't allow "do my homework" type threads.

Edit to add: And WTF at your Student Life thread when the very first sticky in the forum is Do not make threads offering to pay people to do your homework. That thread's gone too.

Hey,
I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask, so I apologize if this is wrong, but:

I want to sell some new setups of Copags, but I can't find a very efficient method of shipping. Obviously I would sell the setups below retail value, but with $5.99 shipping, no one will want to buy. Does anyone have experience shipping setups and/or know how to do so cheaply?

Thanks.

Have you checked out USPS? I know they have a flatrate box for less than that. Also, I've shipped books and a lot of other stuff out through USPS and it's generally under $5. Hopefully this helps.

is there a possibility that a subforum for selling shares/looking for stakes or offering stakes will be set up, or section it somehow where it is not so cluttered with selling pieces threads in the staking subforum in the future?

Sorry, I was away last week and am just getting caught up. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, Zima.

We had a conversation about this in the Staking forum that kind of died off. I'm going to copy these last few threads over there and hopefully revive it. I know Zima was also asking about a thread for selling staking makeup; that would also be a good thing to discuss there as well.

This is the thread: Thoughts on a 1 thread /person rule for this forum and/or other changes
