This is what I thought you were suggesting -- that he get marketplace approved, start a thread looking to buy moneypacks, and "cash out" in that way. That's allowed.
I forgot that was you JL that I discussed that with and you suggested asking MH if it's ok in the Zoo.

To the second part, yeah that's what I meant originally

Hi, I am trying to be staked but every staker requires some form of reference. What is the best way to get references in the Marketplace?

I've started to buy shares in the "Selling-Stake online" section and also trying to increase my post count.

Help!
P.S. Merry Christmas!

References could kind of be poker related ones (skill) or personal ones (work ethic, honesty, etc), and I'm sure backers would like to see both.

Routinely buying shares is good and all, but is not the best way to go about this imo. I would suggest posting strat, get involved in the cheese/life threads there, continue grinding/improving at the pokerz to get improving results as backers like people who put time to improve their game.

There are obviously other ways, but some suggestions. Good luck.

i'd keep applying still. I'm sure a backer can put you on a low risk stake at some point. Selling stuff where you send second is good too. Also everything suigin said too is really good too. On my phone so can't see join date but being mp approved helps too as it means you're in good standings.

when selling pieces of yourself it it just assumed that the cut is 50/50 plus stakeback?

when selling pieces of yourself it's assumed that the % the buyer purchases is the % of winnings he will receive.

To help further and elaborate a bit further since he's kind of new to this apparently (not meant to sound rude :P). But sometimes people will have a mark up per percent. The markup is part of the total percent, not refunded after the fact. As in if 1 pct is 10 bucks with a 1 dollar markup you'd be paying/charging 11 for 1 pct. Hope this helps clear things up a bit more.

There is no reason to do this.

High post count doesn't (or at least shouldn't) have any impact on whether or not you get staked.

Like suigin said - start posting more in strat forums and you'll begin to develop relationships with other players.

As a general forum, there is BBV:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/54...rags-variance/

It can be a little harsh in there. I would recommend posting it in a cheese/HH thread of a particular strat forum. If you play Small stakes NL, then post it in their forum, etc.

usually unless it's really bad i wouldn't even post it. Also there's a "request an avatar" thread in bbv4l made by diebitter. These can be used for pics where you want a santa hat like mine or a segment from a video etc. Then there's the wiggle thread where wiggler can take a still frame pic and make it move slightly. It's pretty and he's pretty talented at what he does. Hope that helps.

i need a programmer that can build me a program that can take the hand histories from my room and convert it into a fulltilt/stars/whatever hand histories, so i can import them in HM. The hand histories are not saved on my hard disk but they are on the poker room client, so it may be a bit complex. Also the room is programmed in flash.
Where do u think should i search him?
Should i open a thread in the general marketplace forum?

Probably either there or the "Want to Buy" section.

it all really depends how good you are.

I would say 85/15 to 80/20.

(and even that could be really generous, but just the fact you are asking most likely means its generous)

I currently have a thread trying to sell action to PCA side events this week here. I have sold 15% of the total 75% I need to sell. One of the tournaments in the package is tomorrow so it doesn't look like it will sell in time. What is the best way to take tomorrows tourney off the schedule and leave the rest as is? I believe I've seen others do this, but I'm not sure what the best way to do it is.

1. I could post in the thread the new details and let everyone know who already bought say 5%, would have 5% of the new package, and I would ship back the difference unless they instructed me otherwise. The problem with this is for the new people who end up buying after I change it might not scroll down to see the new schedule.

2. I could post in the thread about the new package, and about receiving the rebates, and post a link to the new thread. Make the new thread with the new details so everything is easier to read. I'm not sure about the rules with this though, as I would need a mod to close the old thread so no one would mistake it for being open.

Advice on this is greatly appreciated, thank you.

Kevin

You can take out the buyins*markup out of the package and send back to investors but you will still have the problem of not selling enough.

Set up a new schedule that leaves you enough time to sell however much you need. PM every investor and post in your thread. Ask if they wish to roll over the amount they sent to the new one, which would give them a larger %. If they agree, this will help you sell more since the revised package will be smaller. If they wish to have a full refund or partial then do so. Make sure everyone is informed.

If there is no extra interest and you are far from what you need then consider canceling the package and refunding. Unless you can find people at PCA to give you cash for action. Perhaps just play the small events on your own or something.
