Hi, I've never used a training site. Playing micro 6 max nlhe. I'm edging towards bfp. Would I be missing out anything from the other sites from lack of volume?

You both should really just take advantage of the free trials that the major sites (BF, LP, CR, DC) offer. Watch some videos from various coaches and find which one resonates best with you and then make a decision.

Hello, does anyone know anyone who works at Deepstacks University? I tried to sign up twice with two different credit cards, and I was not able to complete the transaction. I emailed their support, and they emailed me back over two weeks ago asking what the problem was, I described it and I never heard from them again.

I've been a ssnl/msnl full ring No Limit Hold'em professional for a couple of years now and given the implications of black Friday find myself in the position that I need to break into 6max. Who do people consider the better coaches for these levels (primarily 200nl)?

Some training sites seem like small hobbies for their owners, and maybe they can drift along. Others that have major market shares will have to adjust to the shrinking pool of involved online US players on fewer and fewer sites. Right now, the poker tide is out. Not pretty.

Will the videos now focus on Emerge network??

considering making an account ..... got some good names as instructors, but is the quality good, like are the big name players making regular videos or they just post a vid once a year ?

Right now, that is a very good question. Is JohnnyBax a Canadian yet? If you know how they will keep up the quantity of new videos in this environment, please tell us.

PXF is the granddaddy of MTT training sites, but I think other sites are catching up.

Pocketfives, formerly Pokerpwnage, has a great roster of instructors, for one.

Breaking news: Daniel Negreanu's Poker VT has just eliminated its startup fee.

I joined tellskitchen, as I will be playing more live. Think it is one site that should do better due to 4/15. There aren't that many videos and all by one person, but good material really found nowhere else. Mostly videos from TV poker with comments on tells.

Ofc not. Some of the smaller sites may disappear but you'll still see the likes of BlueFire, Deucescracked and CardRunners making releases.

I think it's more likely that we'll see an increase in theory based videos (I expect a number of US based producers continue making content in this format).

To be frank - this isn't going to help you as much as theory based content will. It seems counter-intuitive but online videos will teach you the fundamentals sooner, making you a much better player then soaking up a heap of body language that has more limited application and which you won't know how to incorporate optimally without base play.

Well, yeh, but if you are beating the games online pretty well, and now are forced to play live, then working on tells is important, and maybe more important than additional strategic knowledge. Not saying to focus on tells to the exclusion of strategy, but most traning sites pretty much ignore tells and other live play issues entirely.

I want to share some of the stuff I have been looking at. VTPoker has recently put up a JCarver (Jason Somerville) video of a $2K SCOOP 2nd place. Their stuff is better prepared and more slickly produced than most sites. I appreciate this, as it doesn't waste my time like some sites do. The JCarver and Negreanu material is excellent. I am a tournament player mainly, but I didn't find that much else worthwhile. Might be worth joining for a few months to view the good material.

I joined Deuces Cracked recently. They don't have that much on tournaments, but are very good at games other than NLHE. Some good material by Vanessa Selbst. In general, there quality control standards seem higher than most sites, with a decent percentage of their videos worth watching.

Someone also mentioned to me snggrinders, which has 600 videos, all SNGs, including MTTSNGs. Haven't joined, so can't report on the quality.

It's still a developing site, but I wanted to point your guys' attention to www.higherlevelpoker.com -- it's $10/month for premium which is a steal and you get content from some great SSNL players I have faced before and talked poker with a bit in the past. It's still growing, but something to keep your eye on.

- overly biased towards NLHE and PLO for a 'best instructional video maker' list, but fair enough
- 100% agree on (1), (2), (8) and (10b) being on a top 10 list, and to a lesser extent (5) and (7)
- (3) has 15 videos lifetime on cardrunners, and only 5 from 2009 onwards, which I wouldn't consider enough to be on this list, his videos are very good however
- (4) has 22 lifetime, inactive for a year now. however in their day his vids were the best available and very influential, he could feature towards the bottom of such a list
- (6) is a controversial one, many now consider him now much less relevant, however with a large volume of work, pioneering deucescracked, and being undeniably a great coach and video producer if not player also, I'd agree with him being on the list
- (9) has made like 3 videos lifetime, a free one on flopturnriver, one on leggo, and another recent dual commentary one on leggo, and as talented a player as he obviously is, would be hard for him to feature on this list
- 10a is no longer active and arguably no longer relevant
- I'd add in Bryce Paradis, he's produced 100s of the best LHE videos available, he may actually have be the most published video maker there is (only one that came to mind as potentially having made more vids was krantz, but a quick search on DC shows only about 140 for krantz, many of which are dual commentary). in terms of their influence on the game, variety of coaching styles, and how articulate and skilled he is, they're second to none imo. factor in his continued contributions to forums, always offering private coaching, making videos for leakbuster limit, doing tons of podcasts, blogging, and contributing to academic research (with the HU match vs the polaris bot) and I'd consider him the no. 1 spot, even if I wasn't a LHE player myself
- for both mixed games and LHE you could lump together DeathDonkey/Danzasmack/Joe Tall on DC as they often make series together and have covered every fixed limit discipline extensively
- other names that might be on the list would be DJ sensei, Vanessa Selbst, ballzdeepx, learnedfromTV, and some of the small and microstakes NL guys on cardrunners, Verneer etc., their contributions in and above and beyond videos have been very solid

+1
Tri's list most likely considered NLHE and PLO cash game only, I should have included this in the post.
I haven't signed up anywhere yet but it seems CR n DC have the most quality coaches. Are people signing up to BFP for galfond alone?

Jspill any feedback on leggo?

^leggo is very good, it's about 60% NL 6max, 15% HU, 10% FR, 10% MTTs, and 5% PLO, with like 4 mixed game vids, 1 SNG vid, and a bunch of presentation-type vids about mindstate, things away from the table etc. it's on the same level as DC, CR, and BFP, as one of the 4 most organised, established and popular training sites.

Aejones, bttech86, luckychewy, ashman, seabeast and clayton are all excellent players. arguably the average skill level of their coaches is the highest of any training site, they're all very active and successful in today's games. there are some great dual commentary vids where sauce123 and ansky feature, small stakes leakfinder vids, and extremely high stakes liveplay vids.

as you can read ITT some consider aejones' vids very entertaining with the kind of 'online kid' sense of humour, and others find him childish, but regardless it's plain to see he has a great poker mind and articulate thought process that a lot can be learned from. his work ethic shows from the number of vids he's made (approaching 100), their quality and variety. can also check out his well on 2p2

there are a decent number of MTT vids by seabeast (jay kinkade) and luckychewy (andrew lichtenberger). seabeast's have been very well received as he has a unique kind of style similar to deep stacked cash play.

it's definitely great value, on the same level as deucescracked, as both are $30/month, and both have a decent no. of free videos, podcasts, and ipod compatible vids. both also have very active strategy forums.
