If it had not been, I would never have signed up with any training site, not even close. I make my almost all my money playing, after all. Thankfully on Ipoker, it is allowed to have multiple screen-names (it is not frowned upon either, the term "multi-accounting" does not even exist on that site in a negative way among the regs), but had this been on FT or Stars it would have been a tougher situation for me.

2. You are doing yourself a disservice if you expect great entertainment and serious, in-depth study of the game at the same time (although in some very, very rare cases I have seen two combined). A lot of people have problems with "boring" videos, but guess what, it turns out that seriously studying and developing your game is "boring", just as studying for university exams are "boring" (trust me, I am studying for now, and it´s not fun). As far as we have come in the communal pokerdevelopment, this point has yet to hit home, and the reason a lot of people are still having trouble beating the games is probably due to the fact that they don´t want to endure "boring" studies. Coincidentally, the best videos I have seen by now on several of the sites have by far been the most boring ones by far, but their points will only hit home with a few and the general public that just wants to breeze through a video and then collect free money from the games will be left disappointed (not saying that is the case with my videos as people will have to judge this individually, but generally this seems to be the case).

Also, your target demographic is unclear. Are you aiming your video at very advanced players (say a lifetime 2,5 ptbb winner at 5/10), or somebody who is on their way (say a 100 no limit break-even reg)? A subgroup of people will always be unhappy regardless (especially if there is little entertainment value and the video can´t be watched with popcorn), so it may be an idea to target a specific demographic in the future, and state it as well.
i don't know about other people but i think it depends on the person making the video..i've seen a LOT of videos because i love this game. And i can see most of them just to relax while eating popcorn and review the ones i find really interesting again and again. The videos that i find a bit harder to watch is the ones you can see the instructor is bored or can't really get through with his thoughts although he is a good player he can't pass on his thought process in words. Even then i find it interesting , not such a popcorn time though because i have to focus and find out myself his thought process since he can't verbalize it well enough .

So i think you can learn and enjoy more from videos that have someone who might be slightly worse than the best but is better in communicating his thought process.

Hi guys. I wonder what is a good site for 9man SNGs that has a free trial. My 7day free trial at DC expired so i'd like to check more SNG videos from another site, should any other have a free trial, before i come to a decision about where to sign up, since right now the typical 60$ fees hurt too much my little bankroll :P

I also did the 3 month deal on Poker VT. Alot of MTT content. Jason Somerville( Jcarver) is by far the best instructor on the site. He probrably could have his own site and 50 percent of the PokerVT community would follow him. DN's vids are entertaining and funny but more at a novice lvl.

Are you trolling or serious. This kind of advice could be really detrimental for beginners.

I am interested in this as well. I am sure news will be coming out soon. Taylor mentioned a relaunch of the c/r website earlier in the thread and I am sure they are scrambling with Stox blowing up. Something will be released soon.

Hey Guys:

We are still working on TFPT post-Stox but the program will definitely exist in some form at CardRunners.

Any credits earned in March will also be applied to April.

Thanks,
Alex

Not sure what limits or games you play (presuming six-max NLHE) and most of our players don't fall into one "category" b/c they are changing up their game constantly. That said, I'd rec CTS and Nutedawg. Nutedawg has a new vid series w/ Citizenwind where they compare/contrast playing styles, so that could work for you. Also, check out iRock's vids. If you have any questions pm me here or on CR (lana).

I'm a bit above a beginner in MTT's. In a few minutes playing/reading through hands in the pro section of pokerwit I learned quite a bit about how different MTT pros play. You see how they play each hand step by step, how the other pros on the site would play it, then in the comments they discuss/argue possible lines.
The free section is rather flooded by low stakes stuff, but even if you post there I think Amir replies to every hand and gives free analysis.

If no one else wants to improve at MTT's for $5/month that's fine, more money for me. I just think the concept for hand replay is brilliant and deserves more exposure.

For specifically 180s I remember Sandler doing videos on them on PXF.

Poker training websites need better payment options for people playing micro's.

$5 - $10 a month for UNL videos.
$10 - $20 a month for SSNL + UNL videos.
$20 - $40 a month for HSNL+SSNL+UNL videos.

Is it worth it to join a training site? Like DC? Especially when I'm playing NL25, I don't think if it is really worth it for the low limits... Is it?

Thanks!

What's the logic behind a 600NL player improving enough to jump to 1kNL because of a month or two worth of HSNL videos only paying the site $40?

UNL makes sense. All sites should have affordable options for beginning and low players, beyond "sign up for rakeback through us" which is standard, but isn't always feasible for the micro player.
