Dear fellow poker junkies,

Im a young poker player in my mid 20s and I play in a unique 1/2 home game. The game runs 6 min, and caps out with 10 players. The maximum buy in is $100 with an optional $5 straddle (most do, I don't; call me no fun but until I am sitting with 300+, and the min buy in is 2-300 it just cant be profitable). I know 50bbs is not much. Most of the players who play will call any 2 cards (barring actually atrocious hands like 8/3o or 9/2o, and unless I'm opening in the $20 range, I can expect to always get at least 3 or 4 callers ($10 is considered a normal raise, and if everyone calls and someone squeezes often 2 or 3 will just jam for the dead $50). I myself try to only play in position, unless I have a premium. I'll raise AQ+, 10+ from out of position and usually just call any bet with 8/9s+, and any pocket pair. Reverse implied odds seem rather negligible when you are only sitting 50bb.

I was wondering if I call a flop and hit top pair how frequently should I consider folding, jamming, and just how this strange home game would influence your hand selection. Remember, every guy at this table is a rich old geezer and has money to lose and they often manage to lose a grand in one sitting. Should I even waste my time thinking about ranges? Mind you sometimes a hand is played normally, but for the most part it is a very loose, action-packed game. Also, after 4 hours of play (around 11pm) you are allowed to buy in to match the top stack, so at that point the dynamic changes a bit. But only a few people myself included take advantage of that perk. Any advice is appreciated. I feel I am leaving a lot of potential earning on the table in spots where I am folding top pair on the flop because 5 people called my $14 open with AJo, and the board comes 9, 10, J, 2 hearts, where some guy jams his remaining $80 into a $70 pot, with 2 people to act after me. Thoughts?
