I'm annoyed just reading your post, I can imagine the guys that were scammed out of tons of money by this scumbag must feel insulted by it. So it's just a 'staking deal gone horribly bad'? How in the name of god did you come to that conclusion, this is obviously one of the scummiest situations to date involving online poker.
This guy straight out lied repeatedly to con people out of at probably a couple hundred K. He never made $1 million playing poker, he likely couldn't beat 100NL. He was representing and endorsed by the people that work at stoxpoker and hence was able to use that endorsement to milk these naive people dry. No-one would have hired him as a coach if they knew what kind of player he really was - a completely useless donkey. Yet you think the 'coaching component of the complaint is irrelevant' - I wonder how irrelevant the people who hired him based on his lies think it is.
And the 'staking deal' part of the complaint is obviously also a complete scam. No-one would stake a guy who was bankrupt and had lost a fortune at online poker - But this prick scammed them because they were under the illusion that he had won a ton of money at poker. And to top it off, he didn't even stick to the staking agreement and went and blew the cash on even higher stakes than was agreed he would play on.
But to you this is all just a 'staking deal gone horribly bad'. So you don't count it as a scam when someone lies about their background so as to take loads of money off loads of people for coaching and staking? You don't see it as an issue that this guy was a stoxpoker employee that they used to bring in more customers to their site?
I take it stoxpoker is gonna be compensating people for their employee's misbehaviour? I mean if I was scammed out of money by a bank teller, the bank would compensate me. If I was scammed out of money by a mechanic, they garage he worked for would compensate me. Etc, etc....This guy worked for stoxpoker and was endorsed by them, bringing in customers for them, and he was allowed to prey on their naive members. So I take it that as these people were scammed by a stoxpoker employee, stoxpoker will be compensating the people scammed?
