I too live in Toronto and have wanted to get involved in a regular, in-person study group to improve my NLHE game. I am an avid student of the game, slightly winning player, specializing in STT SNGs looking to play more MTTs.

Entering a new chapter in my poker career. My first resolution - to stop being a poker island. I'd love to get involved in a group to chat strategy and improve my game. Most of my poker history is in NLHE MTTs (micros online and small stakes live) and NLHE cash (micros online and 1-2 live). I'd love to chat with anyone, preferably a range of players with different skill levels and styles. To me, discussion is the best way to learn and improve at poker.

Hi guys I am just reaching out to the poker community, I've been playing poker for a while now, I've done some studying but I'm looking to advance much further. I'm not the greatest player but I will dedicate ALL my spare time into study/work to become better, also I'm looking for a group to join, or someone who's a winning player that will help me do some studying and review hands. I made a poker study group with 4 others from my poker society at Uni. They are all ok players, I am confident they could all beat at least 5NL. We are each starting with $60 and working our way up from 2NL.


What are some good tips for running a group like this? I have a bunch of videos from my training site membership I am gonna share with them and I was considering all deciding on a series to focus on and work through that way. Also obviously han discussion will be a big part of the group. How much of a good idea would books be? Are they all out of date now? What about having people record sessions and I comment over them? As a 25NL player I feel like my main benefit from this is going to be how useful teaching is for grounding fundamentals in my mind.

As for a website, I was thinking a Facebook group should work ok. Since we all see each other in person multiple times a week do I need to organise much more than that for meetings etc?

Hello 2p2. I'm looking to join an MTT study group. Most of my MTT experience is in the micros at Poker Stars pre BF, and Lock and Carbon post BF. I'm looking to improve my aptitude at the game, move up, and play the occasional live tourney. Right now, I work full time, so I'm mostly concentrating on study outside of the table during the weekdays, and playing on the weekends.

I'd love to discuss poker with players of all skill levels, but ideally looking for players who are at the same level as me and are looking to improve, and players with greater skill and experience who I'll be able to learn and improve from. Hi, I am looking for a study group, I play micro MTT, Cash and SNG no limit holdem.

I'm looking for a live partner to go over sessions with and talk general strat. I'm a former .5/1 and 1/2 NLHE reg back in the pre BF days and am just now trying to get my live game going. I was thinking just going over hands from sessions by note taking on your phone or whatever and general live chit chat. Doing this would force me to put in hours and try to get better and get used to the live game compared to online which is what I'm used to. I usually can only put in about 10 hours per week due to my work schedule but I'm hoping to put in more at some point.
