Looking for 45/180 man SnG TURBO Study/Player groups.

I'm playing the $1 and $3 45s, and starting up on $2.50 180s. Been playing off and on for years but taking my game seriously and moving up as soon as possible.

Started with $25 at end of February, played poorly in March, reassessed my game and found a friend to help me out, and now I'm up to $450 BR.

From Canada and working PT right now so I can play a lot at any hours of the day.

Serious players only looking to move up and transition to higher buy ins and scheduled MTTs.

The plan right now is to discuss post flop play in the early and mid game stages of SnGs. While the majority of profits come from proper bubble play, it is also important that you are not leaking chips in the early going and also getting maximum value for your made hands. We will be discussing board texture, pot control, proper bet sizing, steals/re-steals, c-bets, and other post flop play strategies.

If you are interested in being a part of the study session, just PM me or send a contact request on Skype.

Hey, it's that time again for my weekly group SNG session. It will be on Wednesday, May 25th at 12:00pm EST.

Just to recap, over the past 3 weeks, here is what we have covered (contact me if you would like the content from the previous sessions. I am still working on compressing the video recordings so that the files do not take 20+ hrs to download):

May 4th: ICM and push/fold
May 11th: Post Flop play in the early and mid game
May 18th: Full SNG game review

This week, we are going to do hand history review on Common SNG Scenarios. Types of hands and scenarios that will be included are:

. 3-bet ranges: What range and how much?
. Push/Fold Scenarios
. Playing against limpers: When to shove over top and with what range
. Playing tricky hands preflop and post flop (ie. JJ preflop in early game facing a raise)
. Playing AK at different stages
. Appropriate times to make marginal calls
. Bubble Play as the medium stack
. etc, etc, etc....

There are tons of different scenarios that pop up daily which cause us trouble. This session will be used to address these difficult, yet common situations. So, if you have a hand and would like to analyze how to play it, please send it to me for review. If you like, I will keep your name anonymous and replace it with HERO.

Please PM me or send me a Skype request if you would like to participate in this week's group session.

I've attended 2 of 3 of these sessions, and I've had Clint provide 2 HH reviews... all I can say is WOW! I've used the services of two other coaches in the past and Clint is by far the most helpful, knowledgeable, friendly coach I've had the pleasure to work with. After the first group session I had an insta winning session. SnG games are so much easier! If you're not part of the Crush the Donks session, you're missing out (-ev).

Hey guys, it's time for our weekly group session updates. First thing, there is a deviation from our normal day. Instead of Wednesday, I need to have the session on Thursday. But it will be at the same time, 12:00pm EST/GMT-5.

After last session, in which we went through some extensive hand history review, the group consensus for the upcoming topic was to talk about the mental game. Just as important as actual game play strategy, the mental side of the game can have a profound effect on your overall success as a poker player. So we are going to address issues such as dealing with tilt, variance, bankroll management, and everything else that has to do with the mental side of poker. Essentially, we will discuss tips and strategies for combating the emotions that come with bad beats, running bad, playing bad, and handling your bankroll. I am certainly not an expert when it comes to the mental side of poker, but early in my poker career, I certainly did not handle my emotions very well. However, after applying certain strategies, I was finally able to overcome the daily ups and downs and as a result, I saw more consistent wins and quite simply, was a lot happier when playing. So I will be sharing what worked for me and hopefully it will help you as wel.

I know that, of those who will be participating in this sessions, some handle these mental game issues very well, while others continue to struggle. So for the session, if there are specific things you do to keep your emotions in check to handle the daily variance, please share your tips for the group. In addition, if you are struggling with the mental part of the game, you are not alone. It will be very helpful for you to share your experiences and the specifc struggles that you are trying to overcome so that we can all try to help.

As usual, I will be using Skype for this session along with Team Viewer and/or Mikogo. If you need help setting any of these programs up, let me know and we can do a test run. Please send me a PM if interested.

Hey everyone. For the past 5 weeks, I have been posting in this thread about a group SNG study session that I host for the players I coach and anyone else that is interested. These sessions have been a big hit (on average 10-20 players participate) and I will be having another session this Wednesday, June 8th at 12:00pm EST. I am really excited for this upcoming session as I think it will be the best yet in terms of hand history review and getting you to really think through hands. Now, just to recap, over the past 5 weeks here are the topics that we have covered:

ICM and bubble play
Post flop play in the early and mid game
Full SNG game reviews
HH review of common SNG scenarios
The Mental game

For this upcoming week, as I mentioned, we are going to have an extensive hand history review session. One of the areas that I want to focus on is pushing and calling ranges/situations in the mid game and late game. Also, I would like to do some HH reviews of ITM play. It is extrememly important that you get it right when it comes to all in scenarios because many times, it can mean your tournament life. No matter how well you play throughout a SNG, if you are risking all of your chips in -EV situations, you will see your graph going in the wrong direction.

In addition, ITM play is often neglected when players review their games. While solid bubble and push/fold play is the crux of SNGs, if you lose focus when ITM, you will not be reaching your maximum potential and overall profitability. Obviously, reaching the money is your goal, but it is also very important that you are playing a solid ITM game to give yourself the best chance for 1st place, especially for MT SNGs. So, in addition to the hand history review, we will be reviewing average ITM percentages for various types of SNGs so that you can compare to your own results. Plus, I will be going over guidelines of how to evaluate your HEM or PT3 stats in terms of your finishing percentages. For example, let's say your 18 man ITM % is 30% (which is solid btw), but your finishing in 2nd place more than 1st. Quite simply, that means when you get heads up, you are losing more often than you are winning. In this situation, if you do not do anything to your game except improve your HU play, you will see a dramatic difference in your ROI and overall profitability. Therefore, part of the group session will be dedicated to ITM and HU play.

Here are the types of hands and scenarios that we will look to cover:

. At blind levels >= 25/50, we will evaluate what to do (fold/shove/call) when someone limps, min-raises, or makes a standard raise in various situations. We will specifically identify how to put our opponents on hand ranges, and accordingly, what ranges we will need to raise/shove with

. Calling ranges when faced with an all in (end game and ITM)

. Bubble play- Calling and shoving ranges

. ICM review and how to PROPERLY use SNG Wizard. SNG Wizard is a great tool, but if you do not understand its flaws and how to adjust ranges, it may actually be costing you money

. Adjusting your ranges for different types of players (regs, losing players, fish, etc...)

. ITM and HU hand review

Please PM me or send me a Skype request and I will send you further details.

diggity, you cannot receive PMs yet. Please post your email so I can contact you about my Skype group.

Also, for any SNG players, I host a study group on Skype with 34 SNG players. They play 6 max through the 180 mans. We have weekly group sessions every Wednesday (see previous posts in this thread about my sessions) and we chat every day about hands, strategies, war stories, or anything really.

It's an awesome group with guys at all different stages of their poker journey and it has been really helpful for everyone sharing different thoughts and opinions on SNG hands, strategy, etc... This group can be a great way for anyone to improve their game.

If you are interested in joining this group, just send me a PM or Skype request (losched16).

Hi, I have a six max cash game study group on Skype. I have just created it so it's small & cozy right now but we plan on expanding the group in the near future. Conversations are pretty easy going but I would like to keep it mainly poker related.

Our current members are all winners at 50NL+ and although winning is not a strict requirement it is preferred. You MUST be willing to actively learn and improve. If you are interested and believe this is a good fit for you, send me a short PM telling me a bit about yourself and your online poker career. Be sure to include your handle on Skype. I will get back to you ASAP.
