I tried (almost) everything, so you don't have to.

Hi,
My poker career was long and far from success. It was always just a hobby and I was treating it as one of my hobbies, even though I wanted to become a pro. I can be highly motivated but it doesn't last long. To your standards it might be lazyness. I started in 2009 and had many 1 year+ breaks. My level has almost always been NL10-20. I think I was learning as fast as playerpool.

Poker Strategy was good back then, and when I was last using them in 2017 didn't have much to offer. I don't know how it looks now, so I'll save you.

Cheap lowstakes private coaches didn't help much. They never caused big changes in my game.

Best Poker Coaching CFP was my worst experience so far, by far! My game plan changed and my results got worse. I wasn't able to beat NL5. Coachings were overcrouded and it was only hand review. We were to follow dated simlistic strategy and answer to every problem was: increase volume. We had some inner skype groups and it seemed like no one was progressing. On top of that Gordon's rudeness was treated as a standard. After him yelling on students "F$*k YOU IN THE ASS" for making bad river call you could always expect someone to treat you like piece of **** for asking any question. I didn't notice anyone moving up in stakes, no good new graphs. Everyone I met there gave up on their deposits and quit.

Upswing Poker. I joined them straight after BPC so I was doing better when abandoned their "strategy". At that time it was only Daug and Ryan who were providing videos. I don't think it was suited for high rake microstakes envionment. I also didn't like the facebook group. It's really messy. You don't know who is who and you see all the time people posting the same questions.

Run It Once I liked. I think it was good value. I was able to get back to NL20 take some shots at NL50. I started to believe that maybe, just maybe there is still hope for me. I wanted to commit so started to look for another cfp deal.

Bluff the Spot - I finished full contract and I didn't improve much, it did cost me a lot of money (for me) though. I paid them cut separately on RB, bonusses, live games, and online winnings. So even if I was loosing all the time, I had to pay something anyway. And yes, I was encouraged to play on affliated sites with OK RB. All coaches were friendly and helpfull. There are students who are progressing. There is much more strategy to learn and to understand compared to bpc, but it is partially hidden, partially scattered.

You recommend than Run it once or Bluff the Spot correct?
What was exactly the deal with Bluff the Spot?

I don't think I can recommend anything, but I can warn about some schools and point out some conditions of cfp deals. I didn't expect that would be doing so badly, and got stuck with contract that quitting was too expensive for me.

From my experience RIO > UP
BTS >>> BPC in many aspects, but BPC is cheaper to quit once you realize it's not taking you anywhere, and if you are loosing (on the whole) I don't think you pay them anything.

Re: I tried (almost) everything, so you don't have to.

Thx OP for the brutally direct review. And let me state right away: Sorry that you had a bad experience with BPC.

I believe like all the other businesses that you were not satisfied with and mentioned here - we all started out to help others succeed. Everybody in their own style, but nobody is like "how can we *** up OP".

What you say about the rough tone is 100% correct. We started very small with a "hardcore" and tough group where success was above everything else. Then we grew too fast without fully adapting to new demographics joining. We fixed that over the years.

The point about "nobody progressing"...From all the students that made it from Micro to high stakes (and millionaires today). They were in your group, though, just for clarification, and we had finishers in 2020 of big contracts. Once members show a certain progress, they get moved to different groups etc... Our Hall of Fame shows a fraction of our winners.

You correctly stated that if you don't win money in the BPC program, you don't owe and quitting the contract is clicking two buttons. We believe that's pretty fair.
The fact that you can easily quit a BPC contract is not because we hate money. It is also (clearly) not because we are better people.
It is only because of people finishing and honouring their 60k, 100k and even bigger private contracts.

Some people will come and call you a "sore frustrated loser" or say that "if nothing worked for OP, maybe the problem is not all of these sites, but OP". And we probably would have done exactly that years ago.

Today we know a few more things about what it takes to succeed.
OP is definitely not less intelligent than our finishers. Hard work maybe yes, maybe no. Can't tell.
The missing secret imo is that all these companies did not bring out the passion inside him. Some were just nice about it.

I just hope that OP will find a site/community that brings the best out of him and helps him become the best he can be.

Jesus, I had to create an account just to comment on that. When it comes to BPC, I couldn't agree more. They are nothing more than shakedown artists, preying on young, stupid and inexperienced players. In my group there wasn't a single person who managed to beat nl5 and this guy who calls himself 'gordon' (after a 'wall street' character') is just a cheap con man.

This so called microstakes group was only a ploy for him to commit larceny on grand scale. Because taking so called deposits form the people that you've managed to b***t into paying you and then refusing to pay it back is nothing more than that.

I advise anyone who reads it to stay away from this quackery - I spent months trying to learn their BS strategy and blaming myself for the failures. After I left and bought normal coaching from a winning nl200 player it took me 2 months to get to nl100.

If that was in the USA and this fraud wasn't hiding under a pseudonym I am positive there would be a class action lawsuit against this boiler room.

The OP is right - if you're in the same spot where I and the OP used to be - do not get fooled by criminals like so called Gordon Gekko. No one is going to give you anything for free. He's going to take your 'deposit' and eat your lunch because such parasites and tax evaders have no sense of dignity.

Re: I tried (almost) everything, so you don't have to.

Sorry Berabiv that you had a bad experience.

Our students in our programs have made over 5million in profits while being "bad" and in the learning phase (and a lot more on their own after finishing the program). Those are only the public ones. Private ones are more, not everybody agreed to be in the hall of fame.

https://www.bestpokercoaching.com/hall-of-fame/ .

And this is only the tip of the iceberg. We have people literally making 58k our of 60k and then going awol. Or people making 2k in a 5k program and then moving up in their "real" career. You will never even see them in the hall of fame, but there are plenty.

As you correctly figured out not everybody becomes a millionaire. Some people don't have much time and only make a couple hundred having fun at their hobby. And some also don't win.

Poker does not give participation medals.

But in the worst case you should still have a fun experience learning and if that was not the case, we are truly sorry for that and consider that a failure on our part.

Just like OP, years ago perhaps you would be called a sore loser.
That may or may not be true, but what is more important for you is to find a community where you can grow and reach your potential. It wasn't us, perhaps give others a try.

As we have explained, groups get segmented for a reason (so people avoid the negativity that you can see here) and one thing you will realise in life is that the people that make money at anything don't spend a lot of time chatting in random groups.
