One exceptional site I have come accross is pokernerve.com (I am not paid to advertise them), since I am also interested in learning MTTs, and I like it because he explains things quickly (doesn't dwell on one street for 4 minutes like some pros, Phil Galfond), he's an intuitive player and makes decisions incorporating his feelings (sick plays like 4 bet jamming a ll in with 83o lol that work), and he's a consistent winner - plus he's funny and a good natured guy. I enjoy watching his videos and I really hope there is something like that out there for HEads up PLO.

Why is every database/stats vid on RIO in Holdem Manager for essential? Everytime I go to watch something, it's in HM. I use PT4 so it's confusing and not really worth watching.

This one bit has cost me so much at 10nl it's insane. Like my blue line is just awful. I think their strategy is really good, but they definitely paint with too broad a brush and don't offer enough adjustments for certain stakes people play IMO

There was a post by a member in the engage group outlining adjustments for 10NL and major points were to overbluff and overfold. Fees lauded the post multiple times and included it somewhere in a module or a digest.
I'm pretty sure you need to make those call downs even at 25NL+ but the above goes to show they're not so rigid in their strategy and encourage relatively big adjustments (fees probably more so than Doug admittedly).

hi, i am a recreational player but i have been studying poker quite a lot by reading books and watching youtube video's. But now that i want to take poker more seriously i think it's a good idea to join a training site.
I mostly play 45 man and 180 man SNG's and so i thought sitngogrinders would be the way to go.
Does anyone know of a better training site for me or is sitngogrinders the right choice?

Can anyone help me watch the videos from Ivey League?

I tried signing up, but found out that they are out of business.

Their support does not write back.

I would really love to watch some videos with Phil Ivey to get inside his head. Especially from PLO, and Hold em, maybe PLO8, maybe other stuff too even though I don't play it, but just to get to absorb his poker thoughts!

Thanks for any leads.

Hello 2+2'ers,

Hope you all doing fine and running hot. I would like to know if anyone here has already bought RYE's HyperTurbo 6-Max course and how was your experience with it and your perspective on its value, it sure sounds interesting to me but would like to know your thoughts.

Also, is there any other sort of 6-max hypers material you recommend? So far I've only been through tonkaaaa's youtube material and I liked it but I already ran out of videos to watch.

Thanks in adv players!

Good luck at the tables!

Def think its worth it for anyone playing 200NL and below.

However there are something that I am confused/worried about

1. Seems like Doug makes a lot of exceptions for himself in some of the videos. Like he bluffs with air a lot, even though the course says no. Gives his own reasoning (which Im sure is legit), but it would be pretty confusing for a 10NL player whoever.

2. Sizing is so inconsistent. Sometimes its an overbet, sometimes its small and sometimes its normal. I realise every situation requires a different size. In of the examples, he check raises turn, then bets half pot with a value hand on the riv. Same thing happens, except he shoves with a bluff. Again, I'm sure Doug has his own reasoning behind it, but its not really clear to the viewer.

One of the rules is bet bigger on wet textures and smaller on dry. However he flops a straight on T98hh (I think), and bets small. A lot of little contradictions that would confuse a lot of people.

3. Every draw pretty much means our stack is in. Not sure if this is right or wrong, but Doug seems like its standard. We always have more draws than sets, so not sure if this balanced or not.

4. We call down with top pair A LOT. Again, not sure if this is just my nit brain, but something just doesnt seem right if we have AQ in the small blind on A349T board and he barrells F and T, jams R, we are just meant to go "ah well we have to call because we checked" line.

These could all be standard in 2016/2017, but my brain from 2013 cant comprehend lol.

Overall though, I like the setup and the website is pretty slick. I prefer it to RIO because of the vast amount of coaches that all have different ideas. However if you are a baller looking to 1KNL, yeah Upswing is not for you.
I'm not really sure the lab actually advocates to call down 100% with AQ in this spot, ive only went though it once so I could be wrong.
imo I could see how calling down AhQc on Ad 3c 4c 9s Tc could make some sense. and I could also see how AhQc on Ad 3c 4c 9s Td would make sense as a fold

The library seems to be still there but there's no way of signing up.
"Starting June 1st, CardRunners will stop the production of paid video content and move a portion of our library to YouTube. The website in its current form will remain online for at least a few months. Over the coming months we will periodically release new training content on our YouTube channel."

Just want to drop by and say that I've been super pleased with Upswing. The content is great for people who want an A->Z approach to getting solid at poker rather than getting lost in the abyss of RIO/other training site videos (nothing against RIO, its just intimidating for a beginner to understand which videos to watch and what to focus on).

Also their customer support will take care of you. Won't go into details but I just got a direct response from Matt Colletta within 24 hours to an inquiry and am very pleased with how he handled the situation - they'll have me around for a long time as a result!

Only constructive criticism is that they have some work to do on the interface - ideally some day they'll get it up to RIO standards on that end. But don't let that deter you from signing up.

Any chance a CardRunners person will comment? I’d be happy to pay to see some of the Fixed LHE content.

I heard good things about Upswing Poker. Is upswing more targeted towards 6 max or full ring?
How about live NL. Do they have enough content?

In general, I would say the Upswing lab is targeted towards 6-max online. A majority of the play and explain videos, along with other training modules are at online 6-max. If I remember right there was only one live play video where Ryan Fee played a live session, recorded his HH, then reviewed the hands. With that said, I feel like Upswing poker has great value if you're a live NLH player. The majority of poker I play is live and Upswing poker has increased my hourly win rate at live low stakes drastically. I had a 6-month subscription to the lab. I feel that Upswing will give you a solid theoretical approach to poker that you can apply to any format, including live. Hope this helps

Thoughts on Upswing vs. CrushLivePoker for a live $2/5 player?

My general (uninformed) thoughts right now are Upswing, while making you a better poker player, might not be the most applicable. Playing GTO at a $2/5 game is not the optimal way to play those games.

I currently have the podcast only CLP subscription, but find myself zoning out because it's harder to keep a hand straight by listening only and not having a visual. Thinking about upgrading to the Premium so I get the videos as well. My only problem with CLP is that Bart bases so much of his stuff on the games in California which I don't think are as good as the rest of the country. When he talks about the villains in the 5/10 game, many sound worse than in the average $1/3 game at my local casino.

So basically I'm looking for something that will help me improve my winrate at $2/5, which obviously is not comparable to really any online game, but also isn't full of complete droolers like the Commerce always sounds like.

upswing does not teach GTO. CLP is a joke. Looks like you're trying to avoid studying strategy anyway so just save your money imo.

Hey, I'm trying to decide between RIO and Upswing. I'm not a beginning player but I feel like I don't have the basics of a solid strategy down. I hear that in that case Upswing is more suited as it builds from the ground up, whereas RIO is more targetted towards more experienced (winning) players.

Anyone care to comment on this ? I've searched a lot on this forum, and online in general, but I can't find a decent answer or site comparison.

Thanks !

So I assume you have taken both courses and found them subpar? Why what's wrong with them?

Hey guys, I'm a super occasional poker player (I used play MTTs and SNGs in the past without much success), what coaching site with videos for MTTs and maybe even SNGs would you recommend for someone who plays a few tournaments once in a while?

Also, I was playing exclusively on Stars, can you tell me 2-3 top european sites atm? Thanks a lot, best of luck, guys!
