However, as a training site owner, it's your job, it's my job, it's Matt's job, Taylor's, Joe's, Hunter's, whoever else, to fight the fallacy of "getting rich" in many instances for making a few videos.

The truth is, that you need to explain to many people that they will get paid very well for making videos, for the time they are working on these videos.

And that last part is really key. Take a big name, have him make a 1 hour video once a week and have him put 3 hours into planning, editing and executing that video.

He's putting in 3 hours per week of work. So why would you allow him to falsely believe that he'll be a rich man for his 3 hour work week?

That's the gap that needs to be closed in many cases. And in many cases you'll find that people aren't interested. You'll encounter new hurdles, many of which will be fallacies that you need to work to disarm.

You have the same job for your customers and community. The same guys that complain that a coach has broke even for 3 months want you to hire the latest and greatest 1 month heater player.

It's hard at times, it's impossible at times (at least I feel that way in some cases), but like anything, you put in the work, keep an open mind and listen to other hard working people's experiences and you can largely reduce a lot of the problems you bring up in your post.
You're not disagreeing with what I'm saying. You're insinuating that training site owners don't do an adequate job of explaining the reality of creating training vids. That may be a fair point, but it doesn't change fact that most of the good content producers burn out really quick.

I've talked about this before with several of the owners you've mentioned. I don't think any of us, including myself make any "get rich quick" kind of promises. Since I don't know exactly what everyone says though, I can only speak for myself.

I personally go through extreme measures to spell out that you're going to get out of it what you put in. I even talk about why most video producers burn out. We make it as clear as you can make it that it's going to be a good amount of work, and you can expect to become Oprah rich from making a few videos.

However it seems to be a very similar pattern over and over regardless of the approach when you sign someone. Most have never done it before, so they are full of energy and passion to do it. BUT THEN, when they actually have to start putting a series or something together, that actually makes them have to commit to timetables, and takes some work... they burn out pretty quick. Just look at how many sites have more than 3 vids from REALLY good content creators (minus their founders). It's the exception and not the rule.

Just my experience, and I've been doing this for over 4 years now.

The problem with this (and the reason I cancelled my Leggo subscription) is that the DRM content will not play on a Mac. Leggo on a Mac is fine when you have internet available, but on a long plane ride or sitting in the park, you are SOL.

With that said, the content on Leggo is top notch.

Hi,

I'm looking into opening a Black Chip Poker account before they pull the plug on rakeback and i'm weighing up two options that i'd appreciate some clarification on:

1. If I sign up through DragTheBar I only have to rake $200/month for a months membership.

2. If I sign up through Dusty Schmidt's web site I get 3 of his ebooks for free (after I rake $50) but then I have to rake $500/month for a months membership.

Is this correct or is there any way I can sign up through Dusty's web site and still obtain the $200/month free subscription?

Cheers,

Snook

A friend told me for 6 max NLHE
DC best for micros/small
LP best for mid
BFP best for high
CR best all rounder
Thoughts? Or is this all wrong?
I've just completed my trial with DC and I'm very impressed, I was very close to subscribing and changed my mind several times only because I want to do trials on the other sites first.
This sat CR trial next. Can someone recommend some videos (time is very limited) I'm looking for maybe 10 videos to showcase their best stuff. Heard lots about CTS' videos, looking forward to these.
Thanks.

Hi Guys

I am pretty much a breakeven poker player online.. But I have logged a **** ton of hands, however I didnt really learn anything as I was a rakeback bitch for the PokerFarm...

My love for NLHE-6max has come back tho and I wanna enter the scene with renewed vigour.

I have watched most of the Basic Vids and I just need that lil bit more extra to my game.

Can anyone please suggest some 6max NLHE vids, that will aide me in my 2nd journey in poker.. I have access to BFP,DC, Leggo and CR...

So motivated to crush this!!

THANKS IN ADVANCE

IM not american so im fortunate to still have access to online..

Hi DGenZa,

Which stakes do you play?

I play NL25 and NL50 6max. I had, last year I guess, a DC subscription and trials over CR and DTB. I really liked Dear Foxwoodfiend (himself as a tutor), Baby Steps (TubaSteve) and Mathematics series (WiltonTilt) on DC. I remember Verneers and Mathew Janda videos on CR and QTip, Zerosum and Leatherass on DTB.

GL!

Any training sites do 2-7TD well? How about Razz or O8? I'm looking to branch out from HoldEm and I'm looking for some videos on these games.

Deuces Cracked has the most and best on other games. CR and PXF have a decent amount. Poker Savvy has pretty good Matusow videos on HORSE games.

What to start getting ready in sept or aug and get used to Tournaments

I have taken a WPT live academy for cash games but would like to enter the holdem seniors event next year in las vegas for $1000 at the big event.

Which seminars would give me the better chance of getting ready?

Thx

Been going through Vanessa Selbt's (fslexduck) stuff on DC. She has 5 NLHE MTT videos and the rest PLO WSOP MTT or PLO cash. Also, a bunch where she interviews people which don't seem as interesting technically. Really a top player and good material.

Hi guys,I'm not sure if that's the right forum,if not,I'm sorry.

I've lately been focusing on SNGs and MTTs mainly, and want to take my take much further in these.

SNG wise I'm looking to get better in field sizes of 18-180 players.
I play $3.50-$7 buy in.

MTT wise I'm playing everything between $1.10-$11 (mixed obv.).

Could anyone tell me a good training site that would be best for the games I want to improve in?
Also with a reasonable price/value ratio?

Thanks in advance.
