I think Grinderschool is one of the better sites around for people starting out, or grinding their way through the micros. There are great How to Master series for cash, mtt, sng and hunl. Definately worth a look, and has a great skype channel as well.

Best part is the trainers/members more than happy to help out with HH review, sweats and videos without the extra $$$$. Definately worth a look for any microlimit player.

As far as basics go, Grinderschool have a great batch of How To Master series for Cash, HUNL, SNG and MTT. For complete beginners, or those trying to increasy their winrate.

They release a video every day and cover all forms of the game.

I posted in rakeback/bonuses but think it was wrong forum..

does anyone know how/why coaching videos of leggo and bluefire etc appear on ptr? is it some new affiliate deal or did everyone decide to just pay for advertising there? seems strange theres so many sites there at once.

also are they all just 2 minute previews? because i'm not too happy if i pay full subscription and they put up full length vids on ptr for free

^yeah the ones i clicked were 2 minute previews unless the videos were already free on the respective sites. Not sure why PTR is advertising them, or the sites would want them to, doesn't make much sense. But none seemed to be free full length vids exclusive to PTR as they are implying

Why wouldn't general/cash training sites want to advertise on PTR? High traffic, relevant to what they are selling...

not many, surprised there isn't more out there. Drag the Bar has a few by James Davis, Leggo has 1 or 2 as well. Surprised nobody brings in a "cap and shallow specialist" since the games are soooooooooooooo common

For DC members: Is "Real Life NL Micro Grinder" still relevant two years later?

So was going through a bunch of threads doing some homework and have some questions. I am primarily an MTT and SnG player. However, I would like to move to cash games training in the immediate future. I would like to find more than one option for training sites to really capture the best of the best in videos and access to real grinder pros. I don't need to be active in the forums on a bunch of sites, but would like to be active on one solid community to have something to belong to on a regular basis.

From what everything is saying here, I went and listened to podcasts from PTE and Leggo, and PTE has me sold and I just joined it. I am really hoping this place might be just what I am looking for from a tourney perspective and/or a good community to belong too (correct to assume that?).

Leggo poker I thought was a joke (based off their podcast), and it sounds like (and embarrassing for the site IMO) a bunch of kids sitting around in their bedroom or something and talking about everything under the sun "other" than poker. Although they advertise 7 day free membership, it's not actually free and I can't base anything off of demo videos. I have serious reservations though about joining Leggo after trying to force myself to just get through 2 of their embarrassing podcasts. Leggo, if you read these threads, might want to seriously consider looking into that...you probably just lost a customer and for sure an instant sale as you can see I joined PTE immediately. I am not saying the rest of their content is bad, but just my introduction to the site through podcast was a horrible experience and first impressions are everything...

I currently have a sub to CR through FT...I am assuming this is still the best for Cash game stuff? I know their content on MTT's isn't the best, and their forums are just OK...nothing special. Probably not really the best for someone looking for more of a community to belong to overall. Is CR still cream of the crop for cash games or should I possibly look into something else? If CR is still the best course to take, is there a series of videos or author I should concentrate on to lead the transition from MTT to cash?

Is there a third site I should be looking into? My goals are: best for cash game, best for MTT, and an overall solid community to belong too with lots of interaction with subs and pros. I wouldn't mind joining a third site if people said videos over here (another site) are rock solid and any grinder needs in their diet.

Thanks in advance!

what are you talking about here? we might like to have more fun than other training sites, but it would be literally impossible to hear a negative thing about the quality of our content

1. the 7 day free trial is actually free

2. we have a dozen sample videos, including samples from our best producers. if you are a tournament player, it may not be the site for you since we probably only have 2-3 tournament videos per month currently (although we do have some of the best tournament players available, they just so happen to also play high stakes cash, where their videos are more valuable).

Go listen to the podcasts for yourself and you will see what I am talking about...it's geared towards kids prop bets and travel plans and I couldn't even make it through the second podcast before I had to turn it off. Then go listen to a podcast of PTE (or 2+2 for that matter) and you tell me the difference of quality for their representing site....Apples and Oranges.

which podcasts did you listen to and what were you looking for? we usually try to go through a little bit a of strategy in there, but it's true that they are primarily about prop bets and live tournaments. if you were looking for strategy, the strategy videos probably would have been a better tool. again, had you been looking for shorthanded nlhe strategy videos, im confident you would have found what you were looking for.

(and i've listened to the 2+2 podcast many times as well as been a guess about a dozen times, and i agree that mike and adam are very professional, but i promise you they like to have a good time as well-- i am unsure what makes their podcast more professional than ours, since i've been the host on all of them and am confident in that free content)

Hi,

Interested in joining a site depending on price. I can't afford to splash out $100 joining fee for something like card runners. I mainly play sit and gos and MTTs aswell, while I gather cardrunners is best for cash players anyway.

So what sites do people reccomend for low stakers MTTs and SNGs? Im talking sit and gos $5-$10, MTTs between $5-$30, I play quite a few $26 MTTs at Full tilt.

And further to those sites, what trainer's videos would people reccomend watching? I'm interested in hearing from someone who's used the sites rather than someone who is part of the sites! Thanks!
