this is from a dc thread. p.s. u really need to stop wearing ed hardy clothes

I stated the same question some time ago and I do understand where you are coming from. Its hard if you have the feeling you are not good at poker, to get the confidence to aply what you see in videos eventough the short term result might not be good. Its easy to get the idea you are doing things wrong.

My suggestion is to get the most out of DC by really working on your game. Working on your game is not being spoon fed. I had some coaching in the past and I came to the conclusion that I believed getting coaching would make me a good player. Plug some leaks, fix it, and crush. Its not going to be like that.

There are very good series on DC that will make your thinking a lot better, but you need to be active in your learning. If you are watching 10 videos in a week then you are probably not getting the most out of it. Not saying you do, but I watched a lot of videos, and sure, it made me better, but if I was more active in my learning I would improve much faster. Better to be active and take 1000 notes on 1 video then too watch 10 videos like you are watching House on television.

Play a lot. Learn a lot. Work a lot. Do those session reviews people talk about, use PokerStove, use the forum to post hands you really had trouble with. And don't fall into the trap of being spoon fed. Its easy to post a hand and then think: Ah now I know how too play it, cool, next hand. Really think about what people are saying and try to get a discussion going. Also post the hands which didnt have a large pot, those small pots where you keep making mistakes over and over add up.

Something I am not doing nearly enough, which I am going to change, is to also respond to hands way more then I do now. Give something, get something back. You can tell how you would play the hand somebody posted, and hey.. maybe you are wrong, get into a discussion and you get another 'click'.

Time management is huge. Set yourself how many hands you want to play a week, and a day.. And how many hours you want to study. Also, be reasonable. You also have a social life and other things too do. So don't say 'i am going to grind 6 hours a day and study 5' if its not possible. But do whats possible, and dont settle

Watch the Haj school how to get most out of DC, its a good series where I should have been listening too more carefully when it aired. Get some people on skype to talk poker about, post hands, do does session reviews. Maybe get some group coaching if you really feel that videos only is not enough.

But in the end, I think you can get too 25nl atleast with only DC and the things I just described. I did it, I am at 25nl now. And if I can do it, you can too, i am sure of that

Work hard man!

I'm sure this is asked somewhere in here, but a search didn't turn up the results I was looking for. What site would you recommend for a micro MTT SNG player? 45 and 180s, mainly, though I do play the odd big field event.

Also Danzasmack, DJ sensei and Soepgroente on DC for O8, and 7 and 8 game vids, and blumpster for Stud 8. LearnedfromTV on pokersavvy has good mixed game vids.

I would suggest giving Grinderschool a go.

They have a series for dealing with your very problem. Their forums are very active, and even have a Skype channel to catch up and organise sweats etc.

They have about 150 videos on SNG at the moment, not including HU.

Is the following thing normal:
I created a Drag The Bar account today. Activated the free trial and canceled it right after activating it, to avoid billing in a week. When I try to watch the videos, it pops up the payment plan window.

Should I contact the support?

Contacting support sounds like a great idea.

It's likely that you need to cancel the free trial AFTER you download/watch the videos.

If it's a 7 day free trial, you would watch the videos during the first few days if you wanted to play it safe, then cancel around day 4 or 5 to ensure no issues.

I would imagine as soon as you cancel there's no more free access for you, as the point of the promotion is to allow people considering to purchase a free sample.

I'm not connected with DTB, so I'm not sure on all of that, but it makes sense to me. I'll ask beachjustice (DTB admin) to correct any of this if it's wrong.

ChicagoRy is correct. Our current setup is that when you cancel the free trial, your access is over. We are revisiting this policy, but for now that's the situation. I'll be happy to answer any other questions you may have.

Hey man, I'd really recommend posting this in the DTB forums, we have a lot of helpful members who would be happy to make recommendations. I don't think you can go wrong watching any of our 6max content, but everyone has their favorite coaches so I'd watch a video or two from everyone and go from there.

What is the best site for NLHE cash game (NL2 <-> NL50 ) really important to me. If necessary separate sites like one to nl2 - NL25 and other nl25+.
Best regards

WTF? Joined just to PokerXFactor as I've heard and read from many sources that it's the best training site for MTT's.

Finished just watching first video from sheets and I'm quite shocked with the stuff he does.

He flat-calls CO's raise with KQo 18BB deep on the BTN.

He over-limps with 65s 15BB deep from the HJ.

He open-limps 33 with 13BB's from UTG+1.

He open-limps 76s 32BB deep from UTG+2.

On 200/400/25, he haves 3600 on the HJ. He raises it to 1200 and then folds to BB's shove even though hes getting all the odds in the world.

videos for both, and i think you should watch them all, there are good thinking players at nl50 these days, and concepts at higher stakes still apply at lower stakes

DC has some vids about mathematics of poker, and the 'real life microlimit grinder' series which are excellent for that low stakes nl, and leggo has better high stakes vids by current winners, bttech86 vids for example

pokerxfactor is incredibly dated imo, it was very good years ago. i got a free trial there for buying a book a year ago and learnt nothing new from jon turner's vids, sheets, etc. it was simplistic concepts for beginners that are like common sense in today's fields. i don't play tournaments but apparently tournamentpokeredge.com is good, and more current information

not sure where you reliably heard it was good, i've seen very little about it written on 2+2 in this thread for example in recent times. shouldn't believe much you read anywhere other than threads like this, lot of biased bs info out there
