(note: The old thread was erroneously and irrevocably merged with the coaching request thread, so we've got a new training site discussion thread)

Recently, we've had a lot of low content "what are the best DC videos"/"what are the best DC 6-max videos"/"what site should I join" type threads. Most of these questions aren't particularly threadworthy and would be much better off in this sort of venue.

So ask where the good videos are, which site you should join, give reviews on what you liked and didn't like about certain services. As training sites aren't listed in the directory or allowed to have their own advertisement threads, this is a good one to search to find out what people are saying. It's not, however, the best place to ask as a subscriber what videos you should look for - most training sites have active forums where you can get much better advice from people of have seen them.

Remember that representatives are not allowed to respond in this forum (except to correct blatant factual misinformation) and will not answer your questions. Even if you're not affiliated, don't repeatedly shill for a site (or troll against one) - you will receive infractions for spamming on behalf of friends/against enemies. Do give your feedback, though: It helps 2+2 users figure out the pros and cons of joining certain sites versus choosing some of the coaches list in the directory.

HUSNG.com

The best site for HUSNG content, and it's not even close. The quality of the videos are good, thee coaches and support are very responsive, and the lineup of coaches is also very impressive. Check out the Sharkscope HUSNG (or even regular) leaderboard, and compare it with the lineup of coaches...pretty safe to say they know HUSNGs. The monthly fee is justified for any $11 and above player imo considering it's a niche site. In short, if you're serious about HUSNGs, this is a no brainer.

If you're a beginner, start watching Primo's Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced series. After that, watch a couple of the 25/50-50/100 vidoes (Chiry/Primo), and Cog's videos about adapting to various player types. For highstakes videos, I'd check out videos by Skates, Croix, xSCWx, Primo, Hokie, and hopefully soon Spamz.

The site only offers NL HUSNG content, apart from 1 HU PLO and 1 Magic the Gathering (yes, you read correctly) video.

Wish for 2010: HU PLO content!

OK Guys. Which site has the best videos and Forum Discussion for low stakes ($6-30) MTT SnGs??

I'm a member at GrinderSchool Right now, which has one kickass trainer doing these (reasons14), but other than him, there's not much for me in particular.

I'm considering signing up at SitnGoGrinders since I hear TigerBalm and a new guest trainer Glitlr have some low stakes SnG Vids on there.

I need some help making up my mind, so please let me know.

Im a memeber of Deuces Cracked. They are great for all kinds of cash games.

I like that you can download thier video's. It allows me to watch them at work. (To me thats a great feature)

Im branching out in to MTT"s and had some minor success, but am looking to improve my mid-end game. What site is best for MMT tournaments. NOt SNG's.

Not sure about MMT but for MTT's () I would say PXF or Poker Pwnage.

There's a couple of sites that review training sites. I like to use pokertrainingguide.com. They appear to call it as they see it for the most part. In either case I'm a SitNGoGrinders member. If you ARE an SNG player it's a no brainer. You got some big dogs there like Darinvg, Azntracker & for smaller buy ins Glitlr makes videos. They also have for 6 max, HU, & Mulit SNG's. Very solid for SNG instruction. I think I've learned the most from Darinvg's vids & Glitlr's. Though I did watch quite a bit of the HU vids as well. Once again before a mod asks I'm NOT affiliated with SitNGoGrinders or pokertrainingguide.

Does anyone have any more info about this?

Hi TianYuan,

PokerSwat management are currently in talks with a number of parties about a takeover of the pokerswat.com website.

For the past few months we have been working hard on upgrading a number of areas on the website and introducing a number of new features. Ultimately, we want to ensure that our members will have the best possible service moving forward and it was decided in the past week that a takeover from an established presence in the industry would be best for all of the stakeholders of the website.

Further announcements will be made in the coming weeks with information on how the website is going to move forward.

Note: We are in the process of moving servers and in this period, some links on the website have been disabled. Video streaming will continue to operate as normal in the takeover period.

Regards

PokerSwat Management

I haven't joined SnGGrinders yet like Pancho was mentioning, but I might someday. So far though out of Cardrunners, Stoxpoker and DeucesCracked. I have to say that deucescracked is definitively the best SnG training site out of the three, they have some amazing content for new-ish players (I am still learning from the vids at the 24$ level).

DC also has a great community so I recommend it for anyone interested in learning SnGs, although as far as I have seen their MTT content is lacking a little bit.

Blue Fire is ranked #5 for 6max cash ahead of both stox and savvy. For HU BlueFire is ranked below savvy and ahead of stox.

Also for 6max Leggo is ranked #3 and stox isn't even in the top 5.

How are you getting those results?

Lately I've been diggin a newer site that some of you may not be familar with: DragTheBar.

It's got some good NL content, including cash and MTTs, and even a backgammon instructor. I'm thinking this is definitely an innovative first -- especially with Bill's exceptional background.

One of the best things I like about it is that the coaches not only make videos, but regularly participate in the forums. This is great when you need some situational feedback and don't necessarily want to hire someone for their entire hourly.

I mainly play cash games, and some of the videos and forum posts have really opened up my eyes and increased my alertness in certain spots where I'd otherwise just routinely make the same play w/o thinking twice, especially some of Hunter's vids. Additionally, it's comforting to know that they have adequate PLO and MTT instruction as backup should I ever hit a tumultuous downswing and want to embark upon a different adventure.

So I definitely recommend you guys to check it out and add it onto your educational repertoire.

I agree for video SERIES DC definately the best ones out there. For standalone SNG vids then I think SitNGoGrinders is. The forums at DC are great for sure. Great community vibe there.

This site is biased. The training sites sponsor their sites on here. Therefore, whomever pays the most is at the top. This is a confirmed fact. Just post questions in this forum.

You can never really go wrong with PXF. Additionally I suggest PokerSavvyPlus. Leggo is working on adding more MTT content, but the series my LuckyChewy is amazing.

Yeah, for MTTs Pokersavvy+ and Pokerxfactor are best

I dunno. I could be wrong, and I'm sure I'll get flamed for saying this, but I just checked out the $6 Turbo SnG "Free Sample" video by "inissint" on there. He may be a sick high stakes player (Sharkscope is wierd, looks like both sides of Mount Everest).

But he lost more than 1/2 his stack in the 1st 5 or so hands that he shouldn't have invested any money in imo.

If that video is the one they hand selected to represent their site, I'll pass.

I also definitely wouldn't recommend pokertrainingguide for any sort of impartial review of anything.

LOL. I worked in the industry for 2.5 years. I saw the payments sent to these sites.

It's ok though. I will still accept an apology .

They have a very clear and obvious conflict of interest in what they say about the sites. Given this, the question isn't really "can you prove they're not on the level?" (which is still pretty obvious), but instead "why should they be trusted to be?". I doubt you have a good answer for that.
