The best training for those stakes is a post-it note stuck on your monitor saying:

"THEY NEVER BLUFF"

I'll sell you one for £1000.

I think this question really belongs here

"I'm trying to get back into poker, but a bit rusty at 6max, I quit poker fulltime around 2009.

Grinded about 10K hands this week, games seems beatable, but I need a crash course, back in the day there was a bunch of video coaching sites: Leggopoker for instance, can't remember the others, but there was 6-10 decent ones back then.

I guess there is still coaching sites, but to not randomly google for it, what are the good sites now for this?"

I've also recently returned to the game. Here are the 2 sites I've checked out, which I believe are the 2 biggest training sites, especially for general poker cash and tournaments (I could be wrong).

Runitonce -

Elite membership for $100/mo (full video library of advanced topics/high stakes), essential for $25/mo (limited video library of more basic topics/low stakes.

The biggest pro of runitonce is that it contains some of the most cutting edge coaches and concepts. The biggest con is that the video library is very daunting to navigate and the videos do not form a consistent strategy. You may watch one coach in one video advocate a certain strategy, only to hear another coach trash on that strategy or advocate a conflicting strategy in another video. If you are looking for a step by step course to get good at the game, this site is not for you. If you are OK with sifting through a myriad of videos and trying to piece ideas together yourself, this site is for you. Also watch out for outdated videos - IE you search for a video on cbetting and find one from 2014 which advocates a strategy that no present day coach would recommend. The game has changed a lot even in the past 2-3 years.

Upswing -

NLH lab is $100 upfront for first month then $50/mo. There are also special one time purchase master classes in certain subjects (PLO, NL tournies, NL HU, mixed games, etc) for up to $1000. There is also a monthly PLO lab.

The biggest pro is that upswing provides a step-by-step course starting from the very basics - the videos all form one consistent and cohesive strategy without conflicting information. This was helpful to me in re-establishing my fundamentals after 6+ years away from poker. The biggest con is that the strategy advocated by Doug/Ryan (the main coaches) is arguably outdated, as both players came up as pros without the use of poker solvers, which now dominate modern poker strategy. To be fair, they recently brought on Fried Meulders, a pokerstars NL 500 zoom consistent winning grinder whose strategy is solver-based (being able to beat NL 500 zoom on stars in today's online poker environment is considered EXTREMELY difficult, this isn't like the old days where you could read a few books, watch a few deuces cracked videos and work your way up to mid stakes).

So my recommendation would be to start with upswing to re-establish your fundamentals and beat the micros, then get a run it once elite membership and eventually your own copy of pio solver as you move up.

Edit: one more thing I want to mention is Upswing's preflop ranges. I found them WAYYYYY too loose for the micros because of the rake. I started out by using them and was paying an insane amount of bb/100 in rake. I play the micros on Ignition, which are effectively 5% uncapped rake. I forget the exact amount but I think I was paying something like 15bb/100 in rake using the upswing ranges and therefore not being able to beat the rake. I've since tightened up a ton and now pay ~8-9bb/100 in rake and am crushing the games now. Maybe someone as skilled as Doug/Ryan can beat the rake using their wide ranges via their post flop skill, but for a new/returning player you'll benefit by just cutting out the difficult-to-play postflop marginal hands and paying half the rake.

No,neither RIO or upswing videos can be downloaded.Cardrunners videos

could be,but they are no longer producing new content,so not sure how old videos are still relevant if they are available at all.

It's against TOS, but it is easily done. It might be okay if you don't share the videos w/ anyone, but I was suspended by RIO temporarily for ripping their content onto my hard drive one time for offline viewing.

Upswing facebook group has really taken a turn for worse since Ryan and Doug stopped posting. I can't expect mynameiskarl to address every post but even he's been less active recently (though to be fair he's working on the new module alone).

Right now Dunning Kruger is rampant in the group. When I post a 10NL hand I'd like a significantly better player than me to give a quick rundown that will actually be useful for improving my game. Instead I get 5NL break even mofos ultra confidently telling me "just fold bro he always has it", or deriding big bluffs because they got called without mentioning ranges or sizings they'd use in the spot. And similar gems which are almost always results oriented. So fkn tilting. Like if I wanted advice from micro players break even since 2011 I'd post hands on 2p2.

I get Ryan and especially Doug are busy but seems like paying customers should be top 3 on list of priorities, not #17. Don't think I'll renew my subscription if things don't improve.

I just picked up the Essential sub to RunItOnce. I thought for only $25 I'll spend a month with it and see how it goes. I'm also contemplating Upswing Poker but it's $99 for the first month and $50 thereafter so there's really no way to try it out without spending $100 upfront. I've subbed to RedChipPoker in the past but they're definitely more centered toward live poker and really out of touch with GTO, where RunItOnce shines.

I see Upswing's Postflop Gameplan available for $7 but also see that it's now well over a year old. Is this still relevant material? Anyone with any experience with it? I could use help in learning how to categorize and plan hands out so naturally this piqued my interest.

Forgetting the Facebook group for a moment (I don't really want to discuss my poker hands publicly under my own name on FB) how is the actual video content on Upswing? Is it anything significantly better than what RIO offers or would my money be better spent on buying something like Snowie's intermediate for $99?

Upon further review/research, the new CORE program and the flat $50 fee on RedChipPoker brought me back there. I bought the $50 PRO which gives you access to everything. I'll keep the $25 RIO essential for a month and then decide on what to do after that. The problem with the RIO material is that it's not easy to find topic specific videos, the essential is rather limited, and quite honestly their videos bore me a bit. It takes too much time for them to get to the meat and potatoes of subjects. I also like that they go in depth with GTO but they really, really focus on using PIOSolver in 90%+ of their videos and not everyone has it or sees the value in it for $300/basic. There's a lot of other software out there.

How are you liking the PRO Membership at RedChip? I currently am in CORE and have thought about upgrading to PRO. Is it worth it? What’s on pro?

I just had a recurring sub to RedChip that ended a few months ago and am picking it back up now. It helped me out a *lot* when it really came down to it. There are topics on just about anything so digging into a specific subject is easy and with the new CORE program, this is a great site for anyone who plays both online and live or one with aspirations of transitioning to the other.

Further, they use and emphasize the use of all different kinds of software, not just PIO, PIO, PIO. PIO is mentioned but they have videos on Flopzilla, CREV3, etc. All in all, it's a great site and after looking at what else is out there, I couldn't not go back to the PRO.

After a couple more days with RedChipPoker, I have to say that it's better than ever over there. The CORE program + the PRO material is really solid stuff and the forums, as well as podcasts, are of extremely high quality. I think those forums have some of the best in depth strategic dialogue and dissection anywhere on the web, period.

They also focus on *both* online and live play, which really makes them ideal for me. I like what RIO has to offer so I may or may not keep the Essential for $25 moving forward. I'm definitely sticking with RCP, though.

After nearly a couple more weeks with RedChip and RunItOnce, I'll only be keeping RedChip's PRO moving forward. The Essential at RIO really is rather limited in content, offers virtually nothing in the way of foundation building, and is - like everything at RIO - entirely rooted in PIO. Almost every video is just a coach using PIO to analyze hands. RedChip actually lays out boards and digs into range v range strategy, etc. It's far more my speed.

SplitSuit.com and Upswing have some advanced cash game courses I may take a look at in the near future but for now, RCP and using the forums to study/discuss is more than enough for me.

In fairness to RunItOnce, I have been reading their forums and watching some of the newest videos over the past day (simply because I have the sub to the 19th) and I'm liking more aspects of it before. It seems that the more I begin to understand the game, the more I like the advanced strategical and theoretical analysis there. I'm also beginning to understand how to use and interpret solvers more and, of course, RIO's material is heavily rooted in solvers. I've also seen them using CREV a bit in the newest of videos.

There is definitely a ton of good information out there but as with most things: You get what you pay for. Still, for under $100/mo. you can have great memberships to two different sites and also pay for some software. Considering what you can make once you begin to utilize these tools to their fullest, it's extremely +EV to invest in training/coaching/software.

Thanks for all of the reviews man. I’m thinking about upgrading to a PRO membership from CORE, seems a bit more my speed rather than the RIO courses
